But, if you are so inclined, you can look up per-capita state and federal taxes. It’s all out there. In 2023, they paid 220 billion in state and 507 billion in federal taxes. That’s not even one trillion, let alone several trillions. Look those words up. 3) There are a half dozen other reservoirs that supply water to this area. Those reservoirs are above their historical averages. Overall supply was not an issue. Local pressure at hydrants was the problem. But, this is well beyond your ability to comprehend, so I’ll move on. 4) CAL FIRE’s budget has grown every year since 2019. If you turn on all of the fire hydrants, some of them aren't going to have water. Over a large enough network, with enough open valves, no matter how much water you have feeding it, you will run out of pressure. The end. Turns out, when you have fire spread out over an area that large, you meet those conditions. You can do the same thing with your household irrigation system, at a much smaller scale. Now, if you're suggesting that the civil engineering standards should be updated to meet newer threats and resultant requirements, sure, I'd agree with you. But the water delivery system is not "bad"; it's built to a known standard that is, for lack of a better term, outdated. But that's still the standard.

In his defense, his guys are getting better reps in their own room than they would at 95%+ of duals. Aside from adding OSU, who they’d have a good chance of blanking, they can’t get a much harder schedule. There are very few schools predicted to win 1, let alone 2, matches against them. I'm well aware. I went to grad school with one, and worked with him a couple years later, a couple thousand miles away, as well. Generally speaking, though, they aren't going to school to pursue athletic goals; they are getting an advanced technical degree that has value to the USAF, like my friend who used automatic object recognition and GIS to develop tools to detect buildings damaged by hurricanes and earthquakes. He had a much stricter timeline than anyone else and defended his thesis after three semesters. Departed for his next duty station before fall semester graduation.
