  1. 2024 Available that i like - there's not many, actually. and very few elite. • #3-Hopke of course - commits shortly. not much baggage/questions at all, really. although he really hasn't hit the elite of the elite. • #5-Ferrari and #6-Merrill - i think there are some concerns with both. Neither have wrestled much at all. • #19-Cerchio has really great results. All those Delbarton kids go ivy though, and frankly, other than Glory, they didn't have much DI impact. • #21-Rune Lawrence - not sure how i feel about him. Good, but how good? Cael kicked the tires there but ultimately went with the Mirasolas. Rune will be going HWT and he's going to announce in the next few days as well. • A few HWT's that are unclear of sport in college Here's a couple sleepers w/ upside imo - #73-Karson Tompkins, HWT from TX #128-Chris Crawford from seminary is all upside imo. if he figures it out he could be really good.
  2. psychic. jk. Willie said it on The First Word yesterday.
  3. Hopke will be announcing in the next few days.
  4. 1) What is this flowrestling you speak of 2) i get what you're saying Fletcher, but his father FWIW, told me he'll be wrestling. i know he's good at FB, but how high of a DI prospect is he?
  5. disingenuous b/c he took the pics from the stream, with the cameras pointed where no one was. attendance was significantly up. everyone here was talking about it. you can say you like folkstyle more. you can say americans likfe folkstyle more. but attendance was up.
  6. That wasn't the OP's argument. but yours is totally off base as well. why would 'action' be up? no rules were changed. you're comparing freestyle in '22 to freestyle in '23 when it sounds like you want to compare FS to the possibly changed folk rules. to be clear, i'm kinda on the fence about some of the folk rule proposals but i don't understand the questions you're asking
  7. lol. what a terrible thesis. not to mention disingenuous.
  8. i wouldn't mind it at all. it makes a lot of sense considering 1) USA's depth 2) USA's team selection process 3) spencer's match count/inj situation. that being said, there is the timeline to transfer as Jason pointed out. i think that's the major hurdle and qualifying the weight is of secondary/little concern. even if he couldn't wrestle at Worlds he could qualify by going to Euros and/or Last Chance, which, going forward now takes 3 per weight instead of 2. so, again, the major hurdle, to me, seems to be getting eligible for France in time.
  9. I love the class of '25. that being said, i am almost always the highest in a class at the end of their SO season. there's only 2 committed guys - Dalton Perry (PSU) and Landon Robideau (MINN) i think you could make a case that that class has as many as 30 guys that could be 'elite' by the time they graduate. so i'm pretty excited about all of them.
  10. Stanford is still in the mix for Merrill. though i agree it would make a ton of sense for M* to be on him too. i get the impression from M* that the staff is more optimistic regarding Kueter being available to wrestle than the general public (myself included) seems to be.
  11. i mean, cody is going 157. are you saying otherwise? i spent several hours at the casino tables with his father last night. idk what Ferrari exactly weighs but i do know it would be a pull.
  12. Chittum ain't going 149 and AJ ain't going 197.
  13. that's how Real beat Swiderski. i wouldn't look at one singular bout. Nagao is better than Teske. by a lot. what has Teske ever done at 133? he's also younger. And i don't buy this 'new rules will hurt him theory'.
  14. really interested to watch Wolbert this weekend. all the way up to 132/60kg. anyone know if this is his last year of Cadets (U17's) or does he have another go at it?
  15. This is also why women's wrestling is dead. and probably other sports (of both genders) as well going forward.
  16. what is 'detente' ? is that like how pasta is supposed to be done?
  17. your statements seem a bit contradictory. are you saying psu does the best job at assessing and recruiting the right guys or are you saying that they just buy them? even prior to the portal+NIL era, the narrative was (largely from the iowa fan base) that psu won because they got the best recruits. and, to me, i frankly don't care. you'd have a difficult time convincing me that any other staff would have had their batting average with those same recruits. and you'd have zero chance convincing me that anyone else would have matched their level of dominance - which has been historic - with those same guys.
  18. his brother Matt Ciasulli was about as good a hs wrestler that i've ever seen. He majored or teched Darrell Vazquez (maybe two years in a row) and Vazquez went on to be Cali's first 4xer. i used to go back to the room and watching him and mikey rogers practice was as entertaining as any wrestling ive ever watched in my life.
  19. nebraska really has a great culture right now. i dig it when a program has an era/period in which the team is really bonding and fighting for each other.
  20. anyone remember on the old boards when everyone called Jake Varner, "Jake Varnish"
  21. correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think Nagao qualifies for an Olympic Redshirt. did he have a past SR FS placing i'm forgetting about?
  22. I'm high on santaniello. but the problem with ranking him is that he hasn't wrestled elite competition in a while.
  23. everyone is overthinking this shit it's not the mats, nor the cleaning regime, nor what they were cleaned with. jfc.
  24. That is correct. Oliver Pierce who wrestled at Allen is the coach there now. Oliver was a staple in Fargo/Cadet Trials finals. Jerry Best, who coached him at Allen, kicked the Ferrari's out. when Pierce took the job and, simultaneously, things with Ferrari's went south in stillwater, Angelo went where Oliver had a new gig.
