  1. I am not sure, but Bear Claw did wrestle both 165 and 174 this year and beat Turley at 174 so there could be some flexibility if that comes to be.
  2. Bono has a few years left on his contract and Wisconsin doesn't care enough to pay the buyout.
  3. The Bearclaw rumor was he was going to transfer to ASU.
  4. Assign each guy a color, put two balls in a bag and then grab one of it. Color of the ball grabbed gets top half. Has to be plenty of those laying around somewhere.
  5. Isn't no show the only real option. It has to be 99% he no shows and 1% he shows.
  6. Oops. Missed @BloodRound thread that was before mine. Apologies.
  7. Penn announced that Matt Valenti will succeed Reina after 1 year as a coach in waiting. https://x.com/PennWrestling/status/1775901141735485946?s=20 https://x.com/PennWrestling/stat us/1775901141735485946?s=20
  8. Is Michigan likely because they prefer 1 year mercenaries or is there any actual intel that he is looking there? Everyone thought Hamiti was Michigan as well but he picked OSU very quickly.
  9. Now there you go bringing facts into this...
  10. Ego run amok!?! DC asked him the question. JB didn't select the timing.
  11. No Tony Romo would of done it before the ball was snapped Every single color guy is asked questions like "what would you do here?" DC did that and JB answered. Fairly common, and not every color guy is making it about themselves. Some people don't like JB, which is fine, but him doing his job is not making it about himself.
  12. I don't think basketball players are known for their toughness so now I get why people are upset if that is their standard. In football, every time a corner goes down the announcers/former QBs say they would go after the backup. If a Dlineman doesn't seem 100% they say they would attack that side of the field. I guess every commenter/QBs who does football games makes it about themselves too according to basketball announcers. MMA Color guys are consonantly talking about how they would attack a guy. It is there job, same for JB and DC.
  13. No. But he is being "criticized" here because DC asked him a question and he gave an honest answer. I guess, Bo and the PSU crowd can't enjoy having two 4-timers and setting the team record so they need to whine about something. Seriously, it was one throw away line that wouldn't have gotten much attention until Bo decided to call it out. JB is a ruthless competitor, he isn't trying to be miss congeniality and well liked by his peers. But he is good for the sport. Feel free to criticize him, just have an actual complaint and not "his answer to the question wasn't nice and made my feelings hurt" because people are pushing back on that one.
  14. Last year, Gabe Arnold got into with Starocci on X when in HS and Starroci took issue with it, now Starocci is calling out JB (for answering a question on the air) before accomplishing anything on the senior level... Hypocrisy much.
  15. I get that Burroughs may be too old now, but lets not pretend that he couldn't of won a challenge tournament to make a team after 2011, he just didn't have to. He sent Dake and Taylor to different weight classes. These are just the list of guys in the challenge tournament which always has multiple time NCAA champs. If JB loses it will be to to father time, not because he had to go through a bracket with Jarrett Jacques in it.
  16. There are 2 World Champs in the 74 KG bracket. We can't even get the dang 65 KG weight qualified. The cut may be too much for him but the decision seems very logical.
  17. Do they still do this one? I just checked and it appears the last one was in 2020 or does Rudis put a different one out on a non-Apple platform?
  18. If anything, the bonus points only highlight how few points a top 16/ RD 12 or low AA will earn for the team.
  19. Honestly, I think bonus points are the smallest issue with tournament scoring. 1st place gets 20 points w/o bonus. Rd 12 gets 2 points w/o bonus. No question first should be rewarded the most but I don't think it is 10 times better than the 9th place guy in the country. 8th earns 5.5 w/o bonus 7th = 6.5 so both are about 3.5 times less than 1st. To me, getting an AA should be better. The current scoring system really only rewards having top 4 finishers. I don't have a better system and I don't think a change will happen so it is what it is. Rutgers had 2 AAs and finished 20th, but they were 9 points behind 17th place W. Virginia. A few backside pins isn't making up that difference.
  20. Not at 103 it doesn't. He probably wasn't finishing college even if he had a partial scholarship to a NAIA or D3 school anyway.
  21. I also graduated with someone who was too light to wrestle his Fr year and wrestled 103 his Sr year. We never thought about redshirting in 8th grade , in part because we weren't good enough to ever wrestle at a high level but also even if he would of finished with a state title instead of 3rd place his Sr year, I can't imagine his life would of turned out different. Plus he would of had to be in school another year. I doubt RBY would of been different either. Heck, he would of been out of eligibility before Vito went on a tear and would of finished as a national champ his senior year otherwise about the same. I just don't think it matters that much.
  22. That really doesn't answer the question at all since the study focus on the overall RAE and not kids who were held back after already achieving a high level of success, which was my question you responded to. Now if we are talking about holding back kindergartners so they graduate at 19, then the data would suggest that will lead to a greater level of success, but I don't see how holding back a high level of 8th grader, already likely to be a D1 recruit will matter all.
  23. I guess I don't get the purpose for these high level guys. I suppose if you want to win a state title as a 19 yo, I can see the advantage but does it really matter once guys are 20 year olds or to guys who are competing in age level national tournaments? I think Bo Basset delayed his HS after he won a Cadet World Gold. Now he is competing in college opens and at the Last Chance qualifier. Dude was going get recruiting to D1 regardless so I don't understand why he delayed entering HS. Maybe he will reclassify? For the record, I don't care if someone repeats 8th grade, I just don't see the advantage, but I am sure I am missing something.
  24. Curious where were your seats? Our seats were lower and could easily see over the the row in front so no issues, but I did look around the arena and notice the corners had a concrete wall that I thought had to obstruct some views.
