  2. How well can Ono dodge a ball tho? Can he even dodge a wrench?
  3. Sparks is a tough kid and I agree that he's been wrestling well lately, but Caliendo's got him figured out by now and the gap will only widen. IIRC Sparks took Caliendo down off of a slip last time and scored a couple of escapes after Cal cut him loose. His length doesn't seem to give MC any problems, can't ride Caliendo and has a hard time getting out from underneath. I expect the final score to be closer to a major than a decision.
  4. Yeah, I'd be surprised to see Nelson on the mat. But maybe it's load management for PK, idk.
  5. When you have programs as stacked as PSU and Iowa, it's just a matter of time before high-level guys get poached with NIL money and the limitations imposed by the forthcoming(?) roster caps. If the five year eligibility rule changes, that'll likely compound things with bigger logjams in lineups & recruiting. And as athletic department money grows tighter with more money funneled to football and basketball, it wouldn't be unreasonable for coaches to rent-a-wrestler just to increase their chances of bringing back some hardware, if only to prove the sport's worth to the AD/GM. The other side of this that I'd like to see is a non-top 5-10 wrestling program splurging on a very high profile wrestler to kickstart things. Have we seen that happen before? I don't think that's what CSUB is doing. But I could see programs like MSU, SDSU, UNI, and others rolling the dice on a big name and pulling it off. Or maybe Lehigh fans pooling their NIL money and bringing in a superstar hometown kid.
  6. Was it technically an NAIA event? I didn't think it counted
  7. Is that right? I thought he used three competition dates (PSU dual, ISU dual, Soldier Salute) and was good for two more before burning his shirt
  8. 100% right, Pencer
  9. Do we need the board's lawyers to finalize that sig bet or what? Vak? Ugarles? Where ya at
  10. Does Brands really care about finishing the dual season in second place instead of third? Did I just ask a really stupid question?
  11. Yes, it was coordinated by T.Brand. Also, W.Aylor (W.Small to you) has clearly been getting PSU money from C.Anderson.
  12. Yeah, first two seasons. He was sucked down, but to his credit his record reflects wrestling in a really thicc weight class... Marinelli, Caliendo, Hamiti, Amine, KOT, etc.
  13. I'm wondering more about Plott since there are likely bigger seeding implications. Brands is a "trust the process" kidn of guy, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Ferrari go, esp if Arnold's been battling through some sort of injury.
  14. Which version of BB do we see against Mendez? Super Beau or Beau-ring Bartlett? It was nice to see him put up some points yesterday. Also, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe Kharchla should sit this one out and save it for Big Tens. He's obviously still a little banged up and has seemed maybe a half step off this season. Usually that's good enough to win, but not against Haines.
  15. Only 1.5 picks in the Nebraska-Iowa Predictions thread had Allred beating Arnold. The half is because someone guessed Nebraska would win one of 149 or 184.
  16. I think you may have just summoned SHP
  17. He's just livin', bro. L I V I N. Tbf to MM he just wants to have fun out there and put up points, and probably never has to care about RT. But you think he would've learned after last year's NCAAs.
  18. BB is the anti-MM. Maybe he could be a little more like LL. JK.
  19. Is it just me, or did Mesenbrink have another mental lapse last night? He looked confused toward the end of the match, like he thought he'd win by TF with RT tacked on. He had enough time to cut Mantanona one last time and secure another TD, but didn't. I mean, it ultimately didn't matter but MM might need to work on his match awareness. Same thing happened at Nationals last year when he thought he had RT on Carr.
  20. Gabe seems to have been wrestling in a lower gear over the past several weeks. What's going on? I expected him to light up Jaxon Smith last week after coming back rested, but figured the close final score was out of respect for his old buddy or something. I like Allred and think Manning is a solid coach, but no one expected him to beat Arnold last night. If Gabe is sick or banged up, I hope he can sit out a few and rehab. Big Tens are just around the corner.
  21. Quint Kessenich asking him to explain what McConaughey meant about livin' in Dazed and Confused

  23. Figure skaters and hardcore figure skating fans think their uniforms look totally fine.
