  1. https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-presentation-presidential-medal-freedom-dan-gable/ As a wrestler, Dan set a pin streak record of 25 consecutive pins. Now, I’m larger than you, a little bit. Do you think I could take you in wrestling? Would I have a big advantage? So, no- he didn't specifically say he was any good but I think his even asking the question means he doesn't really understand. He isn't one to say things tongue-in-cheek but obviously does exaggerate a lot (I won't go all the way with that statement).
  2. Agree with that also about reaction time.
  3. Meant left leg for the second part.
  4. I also noticed that one of the light weights walked off by himself (might have been a 125/133 just wanting to warm up)
  5. Thanks, this is the one I was thinking of. Not a td here because both butt cheeks not down. What I noticed (more when they replayed but I thought might have happened live) was that Henson pulled his left arm off Ridge's right leg and put both around Ridge's right so that later didn't have both legs.
  6. I suppose it depends on your definition but here- The bracket is from 1962 Nat Preps
  7. Over the years I worked ('87-'06) I seem to remember removing two kids from the brackets for drugs. One was a 177 IIRC. I think they randomly tested some and then tested the placers. I also remember they stopped at least some of it- Bob Dellinger telling me something to the effect of the difficulty of getting blood from a stone.
  8. You mean just a little older than Braeden Davis?
  9. The 70s/80s had lots of scoring. Not so much before that. The 60s rule (2 then 1) was an effort to REDUCE scoring by one team as compared to the rest of the country. Again, I brought this up to bring up the irony of Ok State possibly being the inspiration of both rules.
  10. Does anyone have a picture of this one? There were a couple and being old, I'm having trouble distinguishing without photo evidence/reminder.
  11. Tried? Yes. Rejected? Not sure if that's how to phrase it since it was only a similar rule then. It was instantiated because one school got a bazillion tds. The rule then was 2 for the first and 1 after. But that's similar enough to 3 for the first and 2 after now. And I brought it up more because of the OK State connection both times.
  12. I was just thinking about the match and what brought it about (other than the posed name of gable jinx for a third title). How much came from Taylor? I'm not here proposing if he's a better coach yet than anyone else. I imagine he would have worked out with gable and certainly saw him closer up than most over the international cycles and camps. He obviously figured something out
  13. It was called the Okie State (or maybe the anti-Okie State rule) rule for a few years in the 60s!
  14. I wondered if he thought his kid was tired. I did notice him breathing heavily just before that.
  15. Sheesh. Pretty much have to be good enough to get there the or four times but...
  16. I heard through some of the techies that some or a lot of the first session issues were from the Secret Service playing with the network.
  17. Off the top of my head, after they went to numbered divisions, Ken Mallory Mont St 1978 and Tom Martucci Trenton St 1981, Carleton Haselrig 1987-1989 There were several more from the small college division- most notably Clarion early 70s with Barton, Rohn, Schalles and Simpson. AAs would take a bit longer (and wouldn't be from memory) Just noticed the NY part- none of these from NY
  18. I thought they called a stalling point to make it 3-3 and then looked to see if there was also an escape. Not sure what Scott was yelling about. Otherwise, if it was a warning and an escape it still didn't change who was winning.
  19. He might be the only one to take things this far but isn't the only one to try. Lehigh's Josh Humphreys was injured in 2021 and a shirt year thinking he could come back. Didn't happen.
  20. Now that I think back, he had something going on with his shoulder at EIWA. I seem to remember him not going to practices for the next week and a half and "worked out" with Jack (our trainer).
  21. Lehigh has a few geezers. Malyke was born in 2000. Beard graduated from Malvern in 2018.
  22. I didn't look at the allocations until now. They only got 1? The one could have been earned by someone or given by default. But I guess in that case (that I didn't consider earlier) it should go to the 2nd in the conference assuming that person would be the champ now.
  23. Not if done safely. I thought I posted this somewhere but perhaps in another thread. HS rules it potentially dangerous. As far as I can see, college doesn't mention it at all. However, that doesn't mean it can't be called a slam.
  24. I guess it would depend on who earned the spot for the conference in the first place. If it was him- then it goes to the next person in whatever conference would have been the next at the weight across the country. If not him then it probably should go to the next person in that conference.
