  1. John Smith might be available...
  2. Spencer Lee would have won NCAA's this year if he had not been forced to wrestle a Team Mate? The reality of competition is that fans love it. The more matches, the better. Look at Cael, Gable and those with many matches over the years. Decades ago 20 matches was a lot. Then 25-40 or so a season became more normal. Now some are cutting back. In season matches help prepare the wrestlers for the tournaments. Gives a chance to work on technique against real competition. Feeds rivalries and builds team spirit. First Semester/before Christmas - more relaxed maybe? Give newer wrestlers more chances with a "no limit" policy until the Holidays - then the enforced limit after? Encourage participation and competition. The kids come to wrestle, not sit back and hope. Give them the chance to wrestle - a lot to be learned by facing top quality competition even if you aren't there yet. Face it and learn and the coaches will have more information from that and can push more individual training based on what they see - not just in the room. If we keep with what is happening now no one will ever get 159 matches in a college career - much less be 159-0. You only have so much time to wrestle - get in all the matches possible.
  3. Vito could well take the year off and pursue Olympic dreams. Then come back to Cornell, wrestle and finish a degree. Help the school like Yianni did.
  4. 3-5 foot drifts of snow in the yard. By the barn the drifts are still higher than the roof of the F-150 pickup. Up near the Canadian border. Weather guys say a few more weeks before we start spring melting of the snow. 4 below last night. When it finally melts and grass gets going the first month & a half we can watch the grass grow 1-3 inches a day. Not kidding. If we wait a week to mow it is too high. As summer goes on it slows but early growth is amazing.
  5. You guys miss him. He retired and became a manager at a farm in Italy. This documentary about the Ranch will show you what he manages.
  6. They will chose a California School. This gives great options if AJ & the one brother don't shape up - they can become team captain at Folsom or San Quentin.
  7. Coaches wrestle. Cael should win - but remember that Gable would go with Chris Campbell and said it was 50/50 - so maybe he would last to the second period before getting pinned or a Tech Fall?
  8. Please speak a bit more clearly and SLOW DOWN the delivery.
  9. I'll only trust this if it is vouched for by a reputable site or individual. Someone who is trusworthy & reliable, like a Nigerian Prince... someone like that.
  10. You are right. But, just like Ed Banach - all the buildup and hype are too much to ignore when the final result on the mat is a loss like they took.
  11. One positive thing is that Iowa is heaven compared to Oklahoma. A lot more NEW trailer parks.
  12. Lee & Olympic Gold in 16 months? He will be lucky to match Askren. Maybe even Cormier. That is IF he even makes the team. He is the victim of his body, injuries his talent can't make up for with the toughest competition.
  13. You mean you aren't waiting breathless until "what is Lee's favorite type of Apple"?
  14. Is that real? My question is. Keep reading about "Karen" in various stories but never why the folks are saying it.
  15. All the undefeated. Hodge guys. Top Talent. On match with your wrestler at this Very Best, top of his game. Who do you pick? I'll go Mark Schultz. At his best he demolished the competition.
  16. Better to ask "are there really any Dakotas"?
  17. Derailing a 4-timer GOAT. Mark Schultz ------------------ Best of ALL he undefeateds GOAT Yojo Uetake
  18. Spencer, we understand that and don't expect an excuse for your dropping out and medical forfeits to 6th place. We do expect an explanation. That is not an excuse. It is treating fans, competitors and coaches to the reality of why you did not wrestle the placement matches. If it is really a medical problem, let us know. We have followed your career and cheered/boo'ed you through knee troubles, sickness and triumph. We could see you were not 100% this time. Why not make as simple announcement and clear things up? Injury is nothing to be ashamed of. It happens. It is not an excuse - it is reality. Let your fans know.
  19. Am aware of it. He did it as if he did not want to be seen - that is how it appears. Chael's take has validity. Just can't see Gable handling it like that. But - very different personalities. We'll see how he does moving forward.
  20. RBY choosing Down against anyone. He has been lousy at escapes and reversals against good wrestlers. A real hole in his arsenel in folkstyle.
  21. 10 of the last 12 contested...
  22. Optics make it look like he was embarassed to be seen in public. So, rather than appear matside or openly with the team and announde the Medical Forfeits - it Looks Like he ran and hid. Even if he did not wrestle with injury it looks like he did not handle the loss like Gable and Karelin. Both beaten while riding high, both stood and congratulated the winner - in public. Running and hiding does not solve anything. As we see it only sparked rumors and crazy theories. You win, you stand and be seen. You lose, you stand and be seen. In this case you stand and cheer on your team and do it publicly. Spencer did not do it. Hope the injuries heal so he can come back on the International stage and find success, but more importantly learn to live with reality no matter positive or negative.
  23. When younger it was common practice for local judges to give young types involved in criminal activity a choice: Prosecution and jail/prison or enlist in the Military. Many chose the military. Many were helped even as some completely screwed up their lifeline. Give these guys a chance. If they can't make it at least someone tried to help. Maybe..., just maybe it will work.
