Arnold will be instantly elite at 174. Won’t beat Starocci, but could take 2nd and win after Starocci graduates. I think you need a bigger sample size at 184 before pulling his shirt with the mindset that that’s his spot. Feldkamp is a unique wrestler and Arnold wrestled him perfectly, but I think there are those with different types of attacks that would be able to land them easier. I’m still confused as to how 184 went down in general. Why would SDSU not want to wrestle their best guy against Salazar with the dual well in reach? For those that watched Iowa State vs Wisconsin, I’m curious about the 125 match. Barnett has proven to be a tough out but has had some head scratchers before. Did Terukina look pretty good or did Barnett look out of sorts? Going off recent results of Ayala losing to Kaylor and Terukina majoring a two time AA, I’m very interested in that matchup. The best case scenario next year is McEnelly 74 Salazar 84 Nelson 97, and McEnelly bumps back up after that. I don’t see either of them beating Salazar this year because he’ll be able to tilt either one of them to a major decision, but next year all bets are off if they can’t make the weights work out. Worse case scenario is one transfers out obviously.

I think there’s a non-zero chance that McEnelly ends up wrestling a year or two at 174 before his college career is over. He’s not a huge 184 by any means. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He’s not going to be wrestling an AA, he’s going to be wrestling a true freshman that hasn’t wrestled a college match outside of a D3 open. I’m curious why Wittlake is the one that has to prove himself in this discussion and Arnold is the one being given the automatic leg up. If we were talking about Wittlake against like, Patrick Kennedy for example I think it would be a very different conversation. You guys must know more about Arnold than I do, what I’ve seen is a lot of holding center, good defense, the occasional burst of maybe one or two attack per match if he’s wrestling a kid that he doesn’t totally outmatch.
