I wonder what the replacement plan is for Barnett next year. The only other 125 they have on their roster is a freshman that has only wrestled 133 this year and is 3-4 against D2 and NAIA competition. Reid Spurley coming in as a recruit next year but he’s not ranked in matscouts 2024 big board. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Man, if I’m Askren I am not taking on the stresses of being a D1 head coach when I am already loving what I do and rolling in big money with all the camps he’s set up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If KOT and Carr split 1/1 between their dual and big 12’s, and Messenbrink goes undefeated and gets the 1 seed at NCAA’s, he’s winning it all imo. And if he wins it this year, he’s a 4-timer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think adding big ten schools that do not have wrestling gives more of an opportunity for schools like Northwestern or Indiana to drop it, if anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Career 184. If Salazar sticks around next year, I could see McEnelly doing 174 once. After that it’s McEnelly 184 and Nelson 197 the rest of the way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
True freshmen Tyler Wells and Max McEnelly are having pretty good seasons. 23-3 record between the two with multiple ranked wins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And with Lilledahl, Ryder, Sealey and the Mirasola’s coming in, this is only going to continue. We’ll be lucky to have an actual team race by 2028. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Joel Vandervere was a high ranked recruit that hasn’t done much, I wonder what the story is there. Sam Cartella should be pretty good when he comes off redshirt. I think NU will always struggle to field a great dual team top to bottom but they can get back to having top individuals fairly quickly imo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I believe 133 is the long term plan for him, from what I hear he doesn’t have a terrible cut. I think his shirt was pulled because he’s that much better than Eisch or Gliva. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is brutal. Need to reverse some of those transfer portal numbers with all the guys we’re going to graduate this offseason. Eggum will have money to throw around, gotta use it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Eggum (more so Brandvold) have almost been hitting Wisconsin harder on the recruiting trail than they have been Minnesota. They took in some of the lower ranked AWA kids years prior like Jager Eisch, seemingly to build a base and get an in with the club. Coincidentally, Eisch has gotten pretty good. All eyes on Kellen Wolbert for 2026. That’ll be between Minnesota and Mizzou I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Danny Heiser and Jake Stoffel. Heiser just beat Duchateau. I’m excited to have Duchateau but don’t know where he’ll fit in the lineup with Robideau 149, Millard 157 and Contino 165. Good problems I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
