  1. Cornell at 141/149: Vince Cornella (WS#15 @141, 2023 EIWA Champion, 2xNQ, 34-15 record) vs. Ethan Fernandez (WS#14 @149, 1xNQ, 34-14 record) vs Josh Saunders (U23 champion, beat Fernandez last November). Not sure if Saunders will go up or down (or nowhere).
  2. It's a thing with him: https://www.flowrestling.org/video/7967200-152-lbs-wno-meyer-shapiro-maryland-vs-ladarion-lockett-oklahoma
  3. Cornell in 2012 had three NCAA champions (Dake, Simaz, Bozak) and finished 4th.
  4. JJ Chavez (Cornell) went 0-1 freshman year, 0-0 his sophomore year, and 23-6 his junior year, finishing 7th at NCAAs. Didn't wrestle his senior year. (if you want to see what a GR specialist can do, watch the end of his match against Buffalo (listen to the Buffalo crowd briefly yell in anticipation):
  5. What do the quotation marks mean? Is the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences not part of Cornell? And why do you assume that Bassett would be in the Ag School? Current roster includes Engineering: Milani, Tate, Hatcher, Chamberlain Arts&Sciences: Perry, Cardinale, Qureshi, Shvartsman, Canoyer, McLean-Felix, Davis Dyson Business: Sciarrone, SC Johnson Business: Ferrara, Cornella Architecture, Art & Planning: Fernandez, Foca Computing & Information Science: Wade Industrial & Labor Relations: McClenahan, Carlson
  6. In those three matches, only one guy was actually wrestling. Trivia question: who was the only wrestler to bonus Fix in Fix's NCAA career? Bonus: who was the only wrestler to beat Fix by more than two points in Fix's NCAA career?
  7. Sorry, I must have misunderstood your declarative statement "Is this why top guys or even decent guys don't chose elite schools?"
  8. Meyer Shapiro and Anthony Knox would like a word.
  9. While we are at it, let's get the members of "Jews for Jesus" in on the action!
  10. If only your post had said "what are the rules for qualifying for the Maccabiah Games as far as being Jewish?"
  11. I believe they are not considered Jewish. However, the more liberal sects (like Reform Judaism) recognize children of a Jewish father to be Jewish. Heck, even Israel's Right of Return law allows anyone with at least one Jewish *grandparent* to become an Israeli citizen. So, depends on who is making the judgment. Roll your own!
  12. What does that even mean? Seems you are trying to get a particular response (to which you have a response just waiting). If your mom was Jewish when you were born, you are Jewish. If you converted to Judaism, you are Jewish. Your dad could be a Kohen or a Levi, but if your mom was not Jewish, you aren't considered Jewish. "Ethnicity" has nothing to do with it.

  14. Cornell: https://cornellbigred.com/sports/wrestling/schedule Significant opponents: NC State, Missouri, Arizona State. Others, not so significant.
  15. Cornell social media had a recent team photo with him sporting a sling.
  16. For someone who claims to not be politically obsessed, you were certainly quick to turn this thread political. As for the "real world," I'm retired and ride my bike outdoors six or seven days per week, from 20 to 100 miles at a time. You should change your info sources, as you are seriously misinformed. Oh, Barron Trump is now attending NYU (that's New York University). So Trump, despite his BS about crime-ridden cities (which you seem to have bought hook, line, and sinker), feels okay about that city. If you had a child that was accepted at a school in Boston (say, Harvard), or Philly (say, Penn), or Chicago (say, Univ. of Chicago), or the Bay Area (say, Stanford), or Houston (say, Rice), or any number of other "blue" cities, you'd be an idiot to not be thrilled for your kid to attend. (By the way, NYC's homicide rate is 4.8/100,000; Florida is 7.2/100,000, for example. NYC's homicide rate is lower than all but a handful of *states*, and far lower than most of the "red" states. As of 2022: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/homicide_mortality/homicide.htm)
  17. Can you tell us in what city Barron Trump (you know, Donald's son) just started college? Thanks.
  18. Uh, "get ran over by it?" Really?
  19. Cornell: insane. Cornell Anthony Knox 4 Saint John Vianney NJ 125/133 Cornell Sergio Vega 12 Sunnyside AZ 141/149 Cornell Isaiah Cortez 16 Gilroy CA 125/133 Cornell Alessio Perentin 19 Delbarton NJ 174 Cornell Adrian DeJesus 25 DePaul NJ 133/141 Cornell Elijah Cortez 38 Gilroy CA 133/141 Cornell Rocco Dellagatta 66 St. Joes Regional Montvale NJ 285 Does not include Elijah Diakomihalis (U17 World bronze medalist).
  20. IIRC, Gabe Dean went from a 3/1/1/2 NCAA record at Cornell to <checks notes> not winning another match at Penn State. Definitely didn't improve at PSU. Sad!
  21. She's 20 years old. She's already won eight (8) world titles at various age group tournaments. From her Wikipedia entry: Cadet, three junior, two U23, and two world titles.
  22. If you go to the sport-specific page on Peacock, you can select a future event (like tomorrow at 12:15 for the W68kg final), and add to "My Stuff". Then you can easily find what you want.
  23. It's not a refusal to engage: it is an impossible task against Elor, who when her career is finished will be acknowledged as the greatest US wrestler in history.
