  1. So, we gonna get streaming or no?
  2. FWIW, Flo and wrestlestat say one AA (Garvin), or two if Cardenas is not a RS. https://www.wrestlestat.com/d1/rankings/tournament/breakdown/70/stanford
  3. According to Coach Grey in email today, the expected guys at 141: 141- Cornella, Saunders, Botello, Tate, Oroudjov, Griffin
  4. It was difficult to appreciate while trudging across the gorge through knee-deep snow to get to CS414...
  5. On a (Flo?) interview, DT justified his poaching by saying that OkState "entered the recruiting cycle late" because, in his mind, OkState didn't do any recruiting prior to his taking the job.
  6. By "Cornell," I assume you mean "non-Cornell entities associated with the Cornell wrestling program," right? Cornell and the surrounding area is one of the most beautiful spots in the country during the summer.
  7. 1) Schools don't throw actual NIL at anyone, at least not legally 2) Nothing is preventing outside agents from throwing actual NIL at anyone, as long as they meet NCAA- and institution-specific NIL guidelines 3) Given that all financial aid at an Ivy League school is need-based, any NIL monies need to be reported as taxable income, which could then affect said financial aid
  8. That is an insane statistic: that many and not facing each other.
  9. That turned out so well for Mason and Erik, didn't it? And what the heck is actually going on in this photo? https://www.tribdem.com/sports/crushers-erik-gibson-signs-with-cornell-wrestling-program/article_5187c99c-5ded-11ec-b455-9393290d04db.html
  10. ...Spartan Combat RTC with Vito and company. https://x.com/Reihiguchi0128/status/1847386057958183134
  11. Intermat no longer (assuming he was at some point) lists Cardenas in their ranking. Flo still lists him.
  12. Are coaches considered "3rd parties"? Yianni explicitly said it was a coach who he had to block due to excessive contact. Also, Yianni did not say it was a Penn State coach: Koll referenced a Happy Valley coach, who may not have been (and sounds like it wasn't) the same coach Yianni referenced. Remember again that Ivy League schools don't have National Letters of Intent, so not sure what "signed" means in this context.
  13. Due to Ivy rules about making progress towards graduation in four years out of five (actually now four out of six due to the COVID year), and not being able to wrestle as a grad student, both Foca and Ramirez are not enrolled at Cornell in the fall semester so as to not graduate in 2024. They will be back in January. No secret.
  14. Trackwrestling shows Cardenas is one of only four on Stanford's roster who has not certified at any weight.
  15. Cornell won seventeen straight Ivy League titles from 2003-2019 (and eleven straight EIWA titles in that time). Yes, I know "Ivy League" is not strictly a conference, not having a conference tournament.
  16. Although you asked the great wrestling minds for their opinions, I'll offer up grey-shirt freshman Simon Ruiz at 174 for Cornell as a dark horse AA candidate. In his year at SCRTC, his only loss was to Rocco Welch 4-1 in SV, and he beat AA (6th) Wolak 5-1.
  17. Cornell at 141/149: Vince Cornella (WS#15 @141, 2023 EIWA Champion, 2xNQ, 34-15 record) vs. Ethan Fernandez (WS#14 @149, 1xNQ, 34-14 record) vs Josh Saunders (U23 champion, beat Fernandez last November). Not sure if Saunders will go up or down (or nowhere).
  18. It's a thing with him: https://www.flowrestling.org/video/7967200-152-lbs-wno-meyer-shapiro-maryland-vs-ladarion-lockett-oklahoma
  19. Cornell in 2012 had three NCAA champions (Dake, Simaz, Bozak) and finished 4th.
  20. JJ Chavez (Cornell) went 0-1 freshman year, 0-0 his sophomore year, and 23-6 his junior year, finishing 7th at NCAAs. Didn't wrestle his senior year. (if you want to see what a GR specialist can do, watch the end of his match against Buffalo (listen to the Buffalo crowd briefly yell in anticipation):
  21. What do the quotation marks mean? Is the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences not part of Cornell? And why do you assume that Bassett would be in the Ag School? Current roster includes Engineering: Milani, Tate, Hatcher, Chamberlain Arts&Sciences: Perry, Cardinale, Qureshi, Shvartsman, Canoyer, McLean-Felix, Davis Dyson Business: Sciarrone, SC Johnson Business: Ferrara, Cornella Architecture, Art & Planning: Fernandez, Foca Computing & Information Science: Wade Industrial & Labor Relations: McClenahan, Carlson
  22. In those three matches, only one guy was actually wrestling. Trivia question: who was the only wrestler to bonus Fix in Fix's NCAA career? Bonus: who was the only wrestler to beat Fix by more than two points in Fix's NCAA career?
