  1. No, it's not the most. Religious, military, and foreign aid service all allow the clock to stop on the "four years out of five" NCAA rule.
  2. A lot of people were saying that the reason Shapiro lost was due to gas tank (endurance) problems. I had never seen him with such issues, and suspected a concussion-type issue.
  3. Jeez, I was riding my bike in the pain cave, planning to watch this match while training. An hour in, they'd only gone four matches. I can only do so much...
  4. Who says he had concussion symptoms return in Nashville? Isn't it possible that he had some other minor injury? Sounds like people are coming around to the reason he might have lost in Vegas was concussion or similar issue, and not "gas tank" or other things.
  5. I guess that is his second DQ in his career. Might have ended Lillard's season (or worse).
  6. I was wondering about that. Can they wait until the placement matches to pick who to count, or even after the whole thing is over? Norman had 3.5 bonus points plus 3 placement points plus 6 advancement points, whereas his replacement had 1 bonus point plus four advancement points. So net loss of 7.5 points?
  7. Rule for a Flagrant Misconduct (which apparently is the ruling for this match): Art. 3. Wrestler — Prematch, Match or Postmatch Period — Tournament. A flagrant misconduct violation during a tournament shall be penalized by the deduction of one team point, removal from the premises for the remainder of the event, declaration of the opponent as the winner and two team points awarded for advancement. Additionally, the wrestler charged with the flagrant misconduct will not be credited with points earned before the incident, nor receive placement points or an individual tournament award.
  8. He took two swings; I guess the first could be considered a really hard but barely legal "club," but the second was a swing to inflict damage. (edit) Make that three swings, the middle of which was close to a straight jab.
  9. @133... #2 seed and #14 ranked Knox (Stanford) falls to unranked Boarman (Chattanooga) 11-4.
  10. Yeah, an eight hour drive each way is just what I'm looking for. My in-laws (who live ten minutes from me) have YouTube TV, so I may ask to go over there.
  11. That's disappointing. So without a TV provider (no BTN), and it not being streamed on B1G+, and no radio coverage, I'm left with what? X/Facebook updates?
  12. Not having a TV provider (and thus no BTN), the next best thing to keep track of tOSU vs. Cornell next week is radio. What station would be best for streaming the audio, if tOSU wrestling matches are streamed at all?
  13. Answer the questions, please. Let's find out what you think is acceptable and what is not. I, for one, cannot remember anyone taking a swing at an opponent. Again: under what circumstances is it *not* a DQ offense to take a swing at your opponent?
  14. Do you dispute that he took a swing at Glazier? Do you think it matters whether it was a "punch" or a "slap?" Do you think there are *any* circumstances (other than self-defense) under which a swing at your opponent is justifiable or excusable or a non-DQ action?
  15. 174: Gabe Arnold (Unattached) decision Lennox Wolak (Columbia), 4-1 SV Really surprised by this. I had thought Arnold would leave various body parts that used to belong to Wolak on the mat. Foca TF'ed and MD'ed Wolak last year at 174. Heck, Cornell grey shirt Simon Ruiz beat Wolak 5-1 in November of this year.
  16. From PSU's forum:
  17. Glory, Arujau, Diakomihalis. Who did I miss?
  18. The tomato industry in Alabama came to a halt when they tried this, so, yeah. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/oct/14/alabama-immigration-law-workers Or were you being sarcastic about this and the "climate hoax"? In which case, props!
  19. Pascal's Wager.
  20. In cycling, the Tour of California was once sponsored by Amgen (maker of EPOGEN, or synthetic EPO). The irony...
  21. Pretty sure Koll is 0-1 against Mike Grey...
  22. No, you don't know the particular circumstances of anyone on the Cornell team.
  23. You know what? I don't know, and neither do you nor anyone else on this board. I choose to believe these guys, who have been stand-up people. Others choose to believe they are lying.
  24. Same deal with Darmstadt, who was on a higher trajectory, and had to hang it up after only two college seasons due to injury. He's now with Koll at UNC.
