  1. I think the allegations involved how the rest of the women were treated/coached. Certainly some conflict of interests. It is very possible it went deeper than just a consensual relationship with one woman. Some crazy stuff hinted at as the reason for the Iowa exit. Perry obviously knows wrestling. He has been very successful at all of his stops. Why does it appear that he's no longer coaching? You think that just one consensual relationship would do that?
  2. Oklahoma State? Iowa crushed them in the dual last year and they are the only team with more transfers than Iowa. Nice try/
  3. I am not sure it has anything to do with the loss of funding. Really not sure. For whatever reason, I recall the Helen doc being a one day thing right from the start. I am not sure about Perry at Olympics. I'm not sure how many of our women were actually training there at the time. At one point, a family member of one of our best was on the board. All sorts of allegations were made over a period of hours. Really serious stuff. The thread disappeared as did the member, though that may have been voluntary. I would not be surprised is the lack of discussion is due lawyers being involved.
  4. True. But I kinda feel Gilman would hold back on the coaching aspect of the relationship.
  5. Generally, but this would be a coach vs. an athlete he is presumably paid to coach. Gilman has talked about looking forward to coaching Fix. Wrestling him to make a team is a major conflict of interest.
  6. So moved to be in the same room and same weight as Gomez?
  7. Oh, I'm well aware of this. (although I now realize the second time I brought it up I referred to "PSU" as opposed to 'PSU proxy.'... but no different than people who complain about 'Iowa's recruitment' of Teemer and Buchanon)
  8. Ok, perhaps...but he always makes fun of PA kids being held back and 100% thinks that if he were held back that it would have hindered his development. 100% said that on Flo. So the part of my post you disagree with is where i said "doesn't seem to be a fan of holding kids back?" It was a very small part of the post, and was my impression based on HIS views on HIS OWN situation, which I absolutely stand by.
  9. What country would he be representing?
  10. $1000 more? $1 more? He never said. But carter is getting over a million apparently. And apparently PSU recruiter Parker despite not being in the portal, kinda like OSU and Hamiti.
  11. This is far more proof that PSU proxies are "giving out bags" than anything we have heard or seen from Iowa guys. Yes, we heard Nagao infer that Iowa offered him more than PSU, but we don't know how much more. Also, maybe Iowa did a better job of assessing Nagao's talent? BTW all this discussion about "contacting guys not in the portal," and how PSU doesn't do it. I heard Parker Keckheisen was contacted about NIL for transferring by a PSU affiliate to be their 184 in 2023-2024 (which eventually went to Truax when Parker declined.) Pretty decent source...
  12. Ben Askren, a pretty good wrestler and coach, doesn't seem to be a fan of holding kids back. I know he definitely feels NOT being held back helped him in the long run. His belief is that graduating on time gave him quicker access to tougher training partners, D1 competition, D1 training and facilities, and D1 coaching (although he had a great high school coach.) He felt that getting all that stuff a year earlier (actually on time) put him ahead of many of his contemporaries.
  13. It was reported pre-Olympics that Sad planned on going 92.
  14. Basch may have changed his mind after talking to some people.
  15. Basch has reported that sources are saying DT will enter at 92. Could this lead to the dream DT vs Saduleev matchup?
  16. I'm sure several teams could feature a lineup with a bunch of transfers, especially now. The fact remains is that wasn't their best lineup, and never was. Not really the "starters."
  17. Who were Iowa's 6? Are we talking starters for post-season? (I thought it was 4?)
