  1. Also, Dake has a bottom three gas tank on the team, is built like a gorilla, and his fictional patterns training is pseudo -science. Dake built all of his mass with conventional lifting, there are videos of him doing squats, benching, etc at Cornell. Snyder never gasses, despite being extremely muscular and strong.
  2. Calling them a “bronze club” is unfair.
  3. Comprehension skills: when you call non-Russians “Russian” and die on that hill. Makes sense to me!
  4. Love Steiners measured approach and positive attitude. Seems to be a great leader.
  5. I think a good performance, but probably a long way to go. I remember an interview with Adeline 2-3 years ago. She said the US would lose to the Japanese 2nd string. This was borne out at a recent World Championships when Japan sent their #2s and win convincingly. Adeline seemed to think our #1s might match up favorably with Japan’s #3s.
  6. What happened to you resigning?
  7. Weird. You literally said he wrestled four Russians. He wrestled one. Perhaps in your view of the world 1=4. Not mine.
  8. No. You don’t get to make that choice. They probably: 1. Are not ethnically Russian 2. Never lived in Russia 3. Never even lived in the Soviet Union Uzbeks and Kazakhs. It appears he wrestled one Russian I mean, a lot of ignorance going on. You thought Japanese were Russians 15 minutes ago
  9. I worked with a family of Uzbek wrestlers. They would be extremely angry if called Russians. You know.., gulags, forced relocations, etc. “From a former Soviet republic, yes… definitely not Russian.”
  10. I definitely agree that there are more Russians wrestling for different countries. (Bahrain, Serbia, etc) Brooks is a bad example though. Ishiguro is definitely Japanese. Magomedov is definitely Russian. (Well, Dagestani) I don’t know enough but the others may have grown up in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Former Soviet republics , yes … but not in their lifetimes.
  11. Will Iran be allowed?
  12. Blinded by your hypocrisy.
  13. Already tall and long and very very quick. My understanding is that there were times in the offseason when he outweighed yianni. Not recently, but back in the college days. (One of my sons club coaches was a Cornell wrestler)
  14. He’s got a better chance of being an effective 65.
  15. Vito ain’t a 57. Not one who can win big matches on the world/Olympic stage. Hes a big 61.
  16. Interesting to note: I’m pretty sure our men’s program is a bunch of individuals who train on their own with their own clubs and this continues at their training camps, with almost completely individual practices probably run by their private coaches and zadick in a ceo role (which I don’t have a problem with). From what I’ve heard, our women have somewhat individualized practices and coaching but much more is done with them as a group with Steiner or others running large portions of practice or camp for the team as a whole. This may be an oversimplification, but it is my understanding. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong , but it’s the impression I got from a Steiner interview.
  17. But that’s not how we do things, not how China would view it, nor does two bronze help our gold total.
  18. It doesn’t REALLY matter, because China will add Taiwans two golds and Hong Kong’s two golds to their total and claim victory even if the US wins out. This is what they have been doing.
  19. You’ve got a better chance of seeing Dan Gable at heavyweight than Gable Steveson. Look for Brooks at 97. I don’t think Yianni is really a 65 anymore. Not long term.
  20. I think even replacing it with your own is a problem! Someone else’s is worse (and yes, endurance athletes have done this in the past) @Le dukewhat does wada/ioc say about drawing blood for athletic putposes? Any idea?
