  1. I don't think they knew how long the thing was going to last. That affected decision making.
  2. I loved The Who growing up. Saw The Who only once, but Daltrey twice lol. The first time I saw Daltrey was in 1985. Before cellphones, I was just a 16 year old waiting outside in the December to be picked up by my father. As I was waiting, I saw the tour bus only about 50 ft away and people were boarding. My buddy and I walked up and were able to catch Roger, tell him how great he was an get an autograph. He was much kinder and more gracious than he needed to be. And short. Took my son, who loves rock, to see The Who in 2022 when he was 17. They performed a very Tommy heavy set early on, but focused more on Quadrophenia later. No Punk/Godfather though! The boy and I then saw Daltrey last summer.
  3. I am FAR from Starocci's biggest fan, but even I can see a clear difference. I'm also not an NCAA compliance officer, but I know that a lot of someones made a huge mistake. Should Cael get a 5th year?
  4. Lot of mistakes being made. Compliance personnel, coaches, and the athlete can't count to 4? My guess is at least one of those parties knew what was going on.
  5. OK. Troy's son. I don't think either belong in any list of all-timers, but Dad looked like he was on his way before a head scratching loss to a good (not great) opponent in NY. https://www.recordonline.com/story/news/2001/03/15/bouzakis-still-grappling-with-disappointing/51187969007/
  6. I was told second hand info (but good source) that Rohn had a very bad shoulder and wasn't too keen on his chances that weekend. This would seem to fit in with how easily he was going over with that tilt.
  7. Someone is not happy with their estimated IQ and "dark triad" profile!
  8. The rules may seem stupid, but administrative rules like these are generally well thought out and exist for a reason. Yes, they may seem trivial, but they are not put in place for light and transient reasons.
  9. The underwear rule is a) to keep an even playing field ;and b) because pervs had cameras hidden in gym bags to film wrestlers weighing in at Midlands (and I assume other events) for sale online.
  10. Are we talking Troy Bouzakis from Pine Bush, NY?
  11. From hearing GSP and others speak, I think a lot of GSP wrestling came from the threat of the strike. He has said as much himself. I am not sure he beats a Koshchek in a pure wrestling match with no cage. He was just so good at making his Karate blitz style a threat that he could get to guys legs. As far as defense, that is easier to learn, especially with takedown distance being different in MMA.
  12. Cruz just gets overpowered in some of those positions where he might have been able to scramble out of or maybe even score. This is months before his late season "level up" too, but I don't think that would have mattered much.
  13. Yes. But it wasn't about wrestling; it was about the football and baseball revenue but was applied to all sports. How much revenue did the NCAA lose by not having March Madness in 2020? They were going to do their best to avoid the same loss in 2021.
  14. Especially since he started overly taping his hand again.
  15. Pretty cool. Imagine if I didn't say Eierman won Pan Am and had better international accolades than Nick Lee!!!!
  16. That's pretty good. I think it was Teague Moore who said that while he was coaching at Harvard, Granit Taropin (Soviet coach who trained Belaglazovs) was also there. Taropin couldn't believe how often Americans left Big Bruce off the GOAT lists.
  17. Beautiful song. I don't hate Chris Cornell's cover either.
  18. Fantastic stuff. Please don't do my last 100 posts. I had a bad day with alternative wrestling facts on Wednesday. Give it a few weeks! (Although I did use "pilloried" the other day as well)
