  1. But, I will give him credit... it is interesting!
  2. What a weird, pretty unlikable persona he has created.
  3. Unfortunately, they are few and far between. Less even than usual in recent years.
  4. It is almost like if they (Hamas) agreed to peace, their funding might dry up... Can't have that happening! Too many huge bank accounts for their leaders living in places such as Qatar.
  5. Walked out of a athletes weight cutting session a day or two before Big 10 and did not return. Seems like it could have really let the team down, but they reacted by scoring a ton of points and they all seem to still have a pretty high opinion of Egeland. After "The Dual" was released this year, a lot of people started attacking Egeland online and Royce Alger really came to his defense.
  6. Not exactly the same, but Dave Hirsch (Cornell national champ) went from a Cornell undergrad (Econ?) to dental school, and then medical school!
  7. And the national finalist 118 quit the day before Big 10!
  8. He's pretty good, but the age cheating drove/drives me crazy. Saduleev is quite a bit older than we thought, but obviously still great. The age seemed to hit him hard this year. We will see if he recovers. Yianni tells a story about how he was in cadet world finals and talked to vito after the semi. Vito was training with the club that Yianni's final opponent was from (Russia/Belarus/whomever). Vito told Yianni that the club guys had been laughing all week bc Yianni's finals opponent was from their club and was like 20 and there was no way he would lose. Yianni won, but that is an example of how things work. (the details are close if not 100% accurate) Frank Popolizio said that one year at his Journeyman International tournament that every Russian "kid" had the exact same birthday on their papers! Day and year!
  9. Harvard started as a school of theology.
  10. OK... I just realized I was thinking of the wrong former Soviet republic anyway!
  11. Not necessarily. I could have gone that route (as several training partners did), but would have gotten absolutely smashed at the world/Olympic level. It wasn't worth the time or money investment, but also would have felt weird to rep another country. Additionally, Olympic qualification was becoming a thing and I wouldn't have made it out of the qualifier, though I'm not sure which cycle it went into place. And I agree with Lleynor. I would never root for one of the Americans wearing another color vs. USA. Except maybe if Fix were involved.
  12. Isn't there a history with this happening in Azerbaijan, like more than in other places?
  13. I've had the opportunity to work some camps with Nate, as well as share some meals and hear some great stories. He just has a great way about him. You can't help but be energized in Nate Carr's presence.
  14. My son won his state quarters, scoring two sets of nearfall in the third period to get the win. 30 minutes later, I see my father in law moping around talking about how "he could have had him." It took me a couple of minutes to realize that grandpa had no clue that the boy had won by 3! He thought he had lost because he didn't get the fall.
  15. By "both" are you referring to Starocci and SVN or both or Kerks?
  16. I'm pretty sure it was Zo's singlet and Zo was in his corner.
  17. Jax had Zo's and Zo was in his corner, I believe.
  18. How old was Saduleev when he was 13?
  19. Chris Perry might want to try some himself?
