  1. I resemble that meme, sir!
  2. Keep me away from UV rays!
  3. https://kennedyindustries.com/the-sole-mat-complete-kit/
  4. It is pretty mainstream.
  5. Why is the 86 Kg guy's name a surprise?
  6. That worked out so well with Gibson.
  7. I can see that from a wrestling perspective. Academically not so much, but it has been done before. (This is not to insult Nebraska, very few schools compare to Northwestern, academically)
  8. 2022 was kind of a done deal with Iowa injuries, but I'm not sure healthy Iowa beats PSU in a tournament with those two in the lineup. Also talking duals, which do have some degree of importance.
  9. Dean and Kerkvliet weren't devastating enough?
  10. Northwestern probably has one of the worst starting athlete/big recruit retention rates for a wrestling program from a major conference. I have no idea why. Just an observation.
  11. The NCAA mats can't be blamed for Jon Jon Millner's staph, which reportedly is also very serious. I believe he has had one surgery, and may still get some in the future. Maybe it has become more of an issue this year? Remember Teske missed a good amount of time. I have had staph several times and MRSA at least once. The MRSA could have been bad, but I caught it right away. On day 1, I am sure I was contagious, but I'm fairly certain I would have passed a skin check. Day 2 I was in the emergency room.
  12. How many skin infections are from mats? How many are from human to human contact?
  13. When was the last time you bet against a Nittany Lion?
  14. D3 (obviously different quality of wrestling than D1, but still governed by the same rules) had a guy wbf in pig tail, then won next match by fall, then lose in round of 16 by fall. Scored 4 more pins to take third. NCAA record 6 total pins. He may have outscored almost all the champs?
  15. Why reduce forfeit points? A forfeit should be equal to a pin. Only makes sense.
  16. My Greco coach used to say something along the lines that he never saw a good wrestler get burned out from wrestling, because wrestling is fun. He said that he saw plenty of good wrestlers burnout from weight cutting.
  17. My guess is that it is going to be difficult finding a lot of 5'3" guys to carry logs and boats with him in BUD/S. I think the boat teams are usually made of guys of similar heights for that reason?
  18. 1. No longer requiring headgear. My HOF college coach used to say "headgear should be optional in competition, but mandatory in practices." Instaed, we do the opposite! I would like that rule! 2. Changing first MFF to a loss. Good rule. 3. Reducing the scoring for consolation bracket (no specifics though). I like this. 4. Offensive wrestler must work for a fall/near fall. Great! 5. One point pushout rule. I like it, but there is one problem that I see: What happens when a guy escapes near the edge and then is attacked and forced out? Trading a 1E for a "1 pushout" doesn't sound right! 6. Not mentioned above was uniform weigh-in times. No more differing "one hour weigh-ins" for duals and "two hour weigh-ins" for tourneys. Make it uniform! Pyles was deadset against one hour weigh-ins for both. I think it is a great idea. The weight-cutting is not nearly as bad as it was 20 years ago, but it seems we are backsliding little by little. Let's keep making it tough for the weight cutters, especially in tournaments.
  19. There is already an actor attached to the role. https://deadline.com/2023/03/jennifer-lopez-unstoppable-ben-affleck-jharrel-jereome-amazon-artists-equity-1235303598/
  20. I was once told (and I have no idea how I could find out whether it is true or not) that the West point is the reason "locking hands" became illegal like 90 years ago.
  21. Good luck with that. He is never fully healthy, and may never be. I'm not saying this as a mean-spirited criticism. I mean it literally. Hopefully he gets firing on all cylinders and wins the US a gold, but his health is probably always going to be in question.
  22. I think you ended up with a pretty darned good one!
