  1. Is this UNI guy related to KMFs fave "Snapple?"
  2. You are very possibly correct. I took issue with "destroyed." I don't think pre-WWE Gable is destroying Neal, as he didn't demolish everyone he wrestled in those years.
  3. Uhhhhh We are talking about Gable today vs. Prime Neal, is the problem with your logic, not 21 year old Gable. Also, the word "destroyed" was used.
  4. I thought he was taking another med shirt?
  5. Neal was also the best of the world. And infinitely better at football. But back to wrestling: Neal was name FILA Outstanding Wrestler in 1999 and recognized as the best wrestler in the world that year. He ..was also 22 years old, significantly younger than final form Gable who also spent years with WWE.
  6. 100% Just saying he isn't exactly skinny.
  7. This is what amazed me, especially with Orine, Buesgens,Robinson all in nail biters last night.
  8. I 100% believe it. I would make 150 at night before weigh ins and wrestle a match the next morning weighing 170.
  9. Since the Big 10 final two weeks back? Because there was quite a noticeable spare tire visible during his dismantling of kerk.
  10. I remember that match! I also remember the gentleman who won a bronze in Paris diving for the gym floor when he was dead to rights on a takedown.
  11. Seems to be doing a great job for someone with limited experience. Great chemistry with Sparks. Knowledgeable about techniques, tactics, and strategy. Good anecdotes. Knows wrestlers from across the nation and from all the weights, not just his own. Maybe as the night went on, he did a little play by play when he shouldn't have. The thing that impressed me the most was that he didn't get overly excited or disappointed when his current/former teammates were involved in close matches. If you didn't know he wrestled for NC State a year ago, you wouldn't have been able to guess his alma mater. Compare that to Dan Gable who hasn't coached Iowa in almost 30 years when he is doing commentary and a Hawkeye is wrestling.
  12. I'm happy for Trepham. He was very popular with his teammates at NC State.
  13. Gable is a supreme athlete and gets after it when he wants. His belly has not gotten smaller since the Olympics. When Daniel Cormier (of all people) says he'd like Gable to lose 30+ lbs if he gets into MMA, it might be time for Lean Cuisine and a peloton.
  14. I expect more of this type of stuff over the next few years.
  15. It is crazy. People were very high on Feldman coming into the year. It seems like Feldman may never be able to beat Kueter (of course he can, but its a bad trend currently), but Feldman has shown the ability to keep it at least a little respectable with the Big 3. Kueter gets absolutely ragdolled by those guys. Matchups, and in this case, horsepower.
  16. It'll be my final tomorrow as I'm wrapping up the St. Patrick's Week festivities.
  17. Did things get contentious after the match with Shapiro vs CMU? If so, what happened? I was watching another mat and CMU looked a bit perturbed.
  18. Nazis loved Viking imagery. Just saying. https://crosssection.gns.wisc.edu/2017/09/06/norse-mythology-and-nazi-propaganda/
  19. Dan Russell for instance, but I'm not sure if he would have gone too far away anyway. Portland State definitely worked for him. The decision had to have been made in the late 80s and they grandfathered guys in. I was d2 during the late 80s and early 90s and saw it happen right in front of me in real time.
  20. I did a web search over a year ago. I believe I found an old newspaper clipping with the results.
  21. I think he said Big 12 people. He may have also said that this type of incident would never happen at NCAA.
  22. That is one way of looking at it. And that is the job he is paid to do. The other school of thought is to be an ambassador of the sport. As much hatred as Tom Brands gets, he does a much much better job of this.
  23. I believe there may have been wildcards too. My teammate finished 3rd in D2 and qualified.
  24. Factor in the fact that the courts have repeatedly showing they favor athletes rights over the past several years...
