    early/mid 90s were a good run then multi medalists '91, '92, '95, '96. Individually, Dennis Hall medaled 3 straight I think bronze '94, gold '95, silver '96.

    random question, boxing and judo have awarded two bronze medals long before wrestling went to that. Did boxing or judo ever give out only one bronze in the Olympics?

    going way back to the '84 Olympics : Joseph Atiyeh had dual citizenship and wrestled for Syria. He got the silver behind Lou Banach.

    Wonder if any of those late ‘70s/early 80s CS Bakersfield would’ve broken into top 4 if they were eligible in team race? Not so sure about that but some top 10 type scores I’m guessing. Clarion Wade Schalles era I think had a team that would’ve placed 3rd if eligible in team race.

    81-82 was my first wrestling season, so this bracket is special. Lots of the early heroes.

    109 points gets you 3rd in team race? How many other times has 3rd place team gotten 100+?

    to the above, I guess I only provided examples where the eventual tournament champ lost a dual...I assume but am not positive that Ok St was the #1 dual team in both of those cases.

    This has happened plenty of times over the years. Ok St over Iowa a few times come to mind. Ok St beat Iowa the year Iowa set the tournament scoring record (1997) in the dual, forget the score but think it was pretty solid, albeit with Lincoln McIlravy not wrestling for Iowa. And in 1984 Ok St beat the Hawks 24-6 in dual but Iowa beat them by about 25 in tournament.
