He was aggressive, which you don't see that against Amouzad, typically. Amouzad was also more chirpy than I've ever seen him. Complaining a lot. Was clearly gassed early, which is typical against the USA.
It makes me wish we could have seen someone like Retherford against him (but that would have had to have been at 70 KG, not 65 KG Retherford). Unfortunately, we don't have anyone at 65 KG that is going to make that a match, I don't think. Maybe Mendez? Not really sure.
I think Woods came in with the right gameplan. Come out firing and try to not give up any big moves. The problem with not trying to give up big moves while being aggressive is that it was Amouzad. Big, fast, and really fckn good. I was happy with Woods performance there.
