I wouldn't be surprised if there are openings. Again, Vak is handling registration.

Reach out to Vak. I'll drop you in as a placeholder & highlight you as green once he confirms.

If at a computer, two (or more) monitors and multiple browser sessions. ESPN+ allows you to select a specific mat. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hey @VakAttack, it's too bad we can't find a way to charge a fee for spectators & add it to the prize pool. PPV NCAA Wrestling Fantasy Draft! (actually we could do that, by only granting 'View' access with email addresses... but I'm looking forward to the banter from the peanut gallery as the draft takes place)

The rulebook currently specifies a 5-foot distance between the outer circle and the edge of the mat (or the outer circle on adjoining mats). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Got it. I'm highlighting those who have paid in green in the spreadsheet. I also figured out how to randomly determine the draft order once the list of participants is finalized. Figure we run the random generator when everyone checks in Thursday at 9:30p EST.

Here's the link to the Draft Board file. Currently filled with placeholders to accommodate 15 participants, using wrestlers from the 2022 NCAA field. Anyone with this link should be able to view the file as I make updates (process picks) during the draft. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eze6IbcFHbIbVy3x6PkCYowK3kdUYBuhVvo2ZncA4ek/edit?usp=sharing In other words... I don't need email addresses.

With some help from my brilliant soon-to-be 14-yo daughter, I just verified that it IS NOT necessary to have a Gmail account. I can give view access to the Draft Board to anyone. This means that we can allow spectators to see the draft as it occurs. I think it best to have Vak facilitate the picking in a dedicated forum thread.

That's my number as well, if all are still interested.

sounds about right. folks were pretty good about being johnny-on-the-spot. i don't recall having to skip anyone.

Here are the Gmail accounts I created last year. If you still have the password to login to your account, you're good to go. I don't think I kept the passwords after sending Gmail account info to folks. I'm digging... However, I've since learned that it's not necessary to have a Gmail account. That's why I'm asking folks to send me a PM with their email address (to give access to the see the draft board). TheMat username Gmail address ShakaAloha shaka.ncaa22@gmail.com Mizzoufan01 mizzou.ncaa22@gmail.com Mphillips already had one VakAttack vak.ncaa@gmail.com JerryCallo callo.ncaa22@gmail.com flyingcement cement.ncaa22@gmail.com nhs67 nhs67.ncaa@gmail.com Idaho already had one lu_alum already had one hank hank.ncaa22@gmail.com

Same as last year... Based on feedback, it looks like the draft will take place at 9:30pm EST. Confirm with VakAttack that you are participating. Vak will send you Venmo information ($20) Send lu_alum (me) your email address via PM (if you don't want to share personal email address, let me know via PM and I'll create a Gmail account and password for you.) After brackets are published Wednesday lu_alum will create the draft board on a Google Sheet doc (basically an online spreadsheet that allows access to multiple users simultaneously) lu_alum will send a link to the draft board to the email address provided Vak will determine the draft order for all those who are registered. Everyone logs in to the Google Sheet in time for the 9:30pm draft. Draft picks can be made one of two ways (note: #1 below is much easier, but #2 made it possible for onlookers to watch and offer commentary): The Google Sheet has a Chat feature where people can make their picks. I assume Vak will create a dedicated thread for the draft where folks can make picks. Using this method makes it necessary for folks to refresh their screen after each pick. As folks make their picks, I'll move the choices from the available selections to their respective spots on the board. Everyone will pick a guy for each weight class, plus a Wild Card selection. All eleven "team members" score. After each session... I'll download the individual tourney scoring from TrackWrestling and provide the contest leaderboard. The draft went really smoothly last year & took about 1-1/2 hours for a ten-person contest. Here's a snapshot of what last year's completed draft board looked like in the Google Sheet document.

Thanks for the update. That was the best Google source I found while sitting in the pickup line at my kid’s school. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Agree. Ray Flores sounds like a Howard Cosell wannabe. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I can go on Thursday, I won't be able to join until 9:30p EST. (I'm in Las Vegas - Pacific time zone) I'll setup the draft board after brackets are released on Wednesday. Each of the participants need to send their email address to me via PM, so they can view / have access to the board during the draft.

I'm sure we can work something out. When do you leave... any chance you'd be able to connect while in London? The time change may work in your favor.
-
That's OK... I'll assign my 13-yo daughter to be your proxy!

You've got that right, @lightweight! The "Coffee Grinder" banter has been going on for at least 3-4 weeks. Gibbons continually attempts to correct Sparks, but Shane doesn't know when to let it go.

Looked it up. He was 28 when he made AA. https://www.deseret.com/2011/10/7/20221325/about-utah-utahn-grappling-for-olympic-chance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not the oldest ever, but Ben Kjar is a relatively recent AA who was long in the tooth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Naming wrestling moves: Stop trying to rename a "head lever" as a "coffee grinder" Don't ridicule Jim Gibbons when he correctly identifies someone using a "Gizoni", when it's an actual move named after a Hall of Fame wrestler. https://nwhof.org/hall_of_fame/bio/4086

If the B1G commentators are correct, Spencer Lee will hit 100 if he places 1st or 3rd at NCAA. If he places 1st, he'll also finish with a 60-match winning streak.
