  1. Yeah but earlier you said some wrestlers “only got 3 years of eligibility because of Covid.” So going by your own definition, wouldn’t you not include any of those that wrestled in 2020?
  2. I did not think that was an escape for Little, but I guess it worked out for Cardenas
  3. Are you including guys who wrestled in both 2020 and 2021 and thus only got 4 NCAA tournaments in your angst here? That would seem to contradict with your disappointment that some guys only got 3. The only guys that got 5 NCAA tournaments are those that were freshmen in 2021 (and didn’t attend an Ivy League school) or redshirted in 2020. So if the question is “how many of the AA’s in the past 4 years had a chance to wrestle in 5 NCAA tournaments,” I’d bet the number is less than 5%.
  4. Cornell just now challenging the TD from Kasak might be the worst
  5. I’m still not crazy about step outs. They do need more OOB space at NCAA’s though. I wouldn’t say stand up after one minute, but they definitely should do no riding time point unless you score nearfall. That would be a huge improvement because guys would either actually try to turn or let them up and spare us from watching them lay on top and do nothing.
  6. A lot of the “visibly injured” guys ARE the ones that wrestled shorter seasons though. I was actually thinking that this tournament seems to be evidence of the benefit of testing yourself throughout the season. Many of the guys that did not make the finals or did not look great were the guys that sat out for extended periods or for key matches (yes some had legit injuries): Ferrari, Alirez, Figueroa, Shapiro, Teemer some notable examples The only finalists that wrestled less than 22 matches prior to the tournament are O’Toole (20) and Steveson (18). And of the rest, only Byrd (23), Ayala (22), and Henson (22) had less than 25. 6 finalists had 28+ matches coming in including both finalists at 141 (both of them over 30) and 157 + Spratley and Keckeisen.
  7. I forget which match it was now (Ayala maybe?), there was a questionable TD situation where someone went to their back, and it was scored TD but no back points. The Brands threw a brick and IIRC they were wanting nearfall, but I was thinking it would be funny if they just wiped the TD off. I believe they ended up keeping it as scored on the mat.
  8. You’re crazy to suggest 4 for a reversal. Not saying reversals are easy, but I think they are easier than TD’s, I think 2 is appropriate
  9. I’m shocked that many people picked Gavin Drexler
  10. Was Taylor in the corner for Amine/Barraclaugh? He was not happy with the corner for not throwing the brick
  11. Agree, that was stupid. Best case scenario he still needs a TD, should have taken neutral
  12. Does Kharchla have another year of eligibility? I thought he was done but looks like he may be able to get a medical year if he wants another
  13. Columbia had 3 guys in the prelim, interesting
  14. I’m watching Shane Sparks and Trent Hidlay on matcast. Leake of CBU pins Wertanen of Michigan after being down 7-1
  15. Everyone was on time and made weight?
  16. That’s why I said just for the next few days. Most of the discussion should be around the actual wrestling. We don’t need Jimmy’s “worst case scenario for PSU” or “Iowa could actually win” nonsense right now. He does help stir up discussion in the offseason though
  17. So just disband the whole organization rather than get rid of the fraud? I know someone who works for this company, an example of the good that USAID did: https://www.wpri.com/news/local-news/south-county/edesia-nutrition-cuts-10-of-workforce-due-to-lack-of-usaid-funding/
  18. Rooting for Hardy but this is probably the most likely
  19. I’m not surprised by much anymore. Musk is really going out of his way to comment on tons of posts calling this “domestic terrorism,” it feels contrived
  20. Also I believe the same situation happened with Republicans celebrating declines of Anheuser Busch despite their pension funds holding that stock. And that stock decline was almost solely the result of conservative boycotts.
  21. Cael trying to pull the news dump on the day NCAA’s starts
  22. No one else is out other than Brennan so far right?
