I’m not really sure what your point was tbh. You said Iowa would get less transfers than PSU without NIL, but they’re only getting PSU’s leftovers as is, which would likely be the case even without NIL.
Lol I’m no Iowa fan but this is silly.
They have arguably the best atmosphere to wrestle in, and in a state where people actually care about wrestling.
New facilities coming
Say what you want about the Brands bros but they know how to coach and can also churn out successful adults (with some exceptions)
It’s a far cry from the NLWC but HWC does have some solid guys, most notably Spencer Lee of course
Gotta say, I’m not sure they finish #2 but Iowa still being so high despite the guys that are currently suspended is impressive, even if most of it is due to the transfer portal. I’d like to say in my best Cinnybuns voice that they might have made it interesting with PSU (only due to SVN being out), but they probably don’t. They’re showing down by 50 with PSU likely having more upside, and Cass/Brands/Assad probably would’ve only added somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 incremental points or so.
Yeah I had Rocky as heavy favorite initially, but I think Glazier’s major of Allred has earned him slight underdog status.
But I’m thinking 157 might have to go into the tossup category.
I was thinking Arnold at 174 in this hypothetical, but maybe he shouldn’t count if he redshirts. Interestingly this is anther situation where using Arnold at 184 might make sense.
No way anyone has more than like a 10% chance of winning and there’s definitely like 25 guys that can win.
I’d go something like:
Ramos 10%
Noto 10%
Figueroa 10%
Ayala 10%
Stanich 5%
Smith 5%
Barnett 5%
Flynn 5%
Surtin 4%
DeAugustino 4%
Spratley 4%
Camacho 4%
Peterson 4%
Provo 3%
Volk 3%
Davis 3%
McKee 3%
Kaylor 3%
All others 5%
I think it’s close, but a bunch of matches could go either way
141 - Iowa heavy favorites
157 - Iowa slight favorite
165, 184, 285 - Mizzou heavy favorites
197 - Mizzou slight favorite
125, 133, 149, 174 - tossups
Dom Zaccone. Apparently makes $70k A MONTH selling Pokémon cards?? Not sure what the expenses are but still, crazy. And still uses three chairs to hold up his TV, now that’s humble.
Fun video. Chase Horne from NC State was pretty funny. Apparently Kai Orine enjoys asking strangers if he can take them down.
