  1. Meh, if this was a high school forum I’d agree with you, but these guys really aren’t “kids.” Was it not okay to talk about Fernandes either or where does the line start?
  2. He’s also right. Door is closed on this semester. Tom wants him to Olympic shirt and then try again in the fall. It would take a lot of work I don’t think AJ is capable of. If the AD is the one that said no, why would waiting change her mind?
  3. So no medical, but last year was a regular redshirt?
  4. You may be right about the medical, but sounds like he qualifies for Olympic based on cadet world bronze
  5. I’d give F&M a semi-decent shot. They actually have 3 guys ranked currently via Intermat which I thought was pretty impressive (although in the lower half, highest being James Conway #17 at 184.
  6. Yeah, as is Mike “the Situation” who is also NOT from NJ
  7. He should have 3 years left including this one, but I believe he’d have to apply for a medical shirt for 2022 first (2021 didn’t count, last year while he was out counts as a year). Sounds like he is eligible for an ORS this year, but I know I read/heard somewhere he wanted to wrestle this year, so your second question would be my main one. I assume he had gone through the enrollment process with Iowa, but while I’m no admissions person so could be wrong, I can’t imagine he can still enroll for the spring semester at a D1 school at this point…
  8. Kinda sad if the dad is the one saying he wants them all to stick together. Feel bad for Angelo, maybe even Anthony too if he hasn’t really transgressed since being in Iowa.
  9. Hmm, interesting, thank you
  10. I’m still confused about the RTC system… NLWC has its own locker room in the PSU facility? Is there any other sport where non students have personal access to on-campus facilities? (And I know it’s not just PSU where this happens)
  11. IIRC DeSanto’s wrestling wasn’t really dirty at Iowa. Most of his “incidents” were after the match. Before I knew who Fernandes was I probably would’ve said Thomas Penola of Purdue who seemed to have a thing for headbutts and IIRC gave Hillger a concussion. But looks like he got injured last year and hasn’t been back, I assume graduated and moved on. From this weekend’s matches I might nominate Richie Koehler of Rider. He was throwing some haymakers against Shawver. He even did the shake your hand apology thing after he was penalized for one but then did it again right after.
  12. I think Schwab was complaining that they didn’t call blood time. Believe it was either in Happel/Hardy or Downey/Robb
  13. Just watched Nebraska/Wyoming with the Brain commentating. During the Smith/Volk match he said “there are rumors swirling that Fix and/or Vito could be dropping”
  14. Volk had actually already beaten Smith at CKLV
  15. It was because when the 2020-2021 season started there was question as to whether or not it would actually finish.
  16. I mean a lot of these 6 or 7 year guys are getting graduate degrees aren’t they, do we know if that’s the case for Fix? We know it’s not the case for Vito due to the Ivy rules…
  17. The concussion was evident in the Chumbley match, which appears to be when it was sustained, or maybe the end of the Cardenas match. But earlier in the Cardenas match was the potential gas tank issues. Possible that was from a concussion I guess too though.
  18. If he and Vito wrestle in the finals (maybe at 125?) will it be the oldest combined age ever? Not counting the post WWII guys or whatever
  19. But kudos to the Cornell staff for trying to prevent future ones at least...
  20. He was clearly concussed at CKLV. If you want to call that a conspiracy, cool.
  21. Wasn't the headgear Shapiro was wearing the kind that's supposed to prevent concussions (and not the headgear he's worn previously)? And we're supposed to believe he didn't have a concussion at CKLV?
  22. Taking top would've been dumb there IMO.
  23. Fleeing the mat no longer exists in college. I did think both of those borderline calls for Fix and Jack should have been TD's though...
  24. I don’t see what else that could mean… I guess my speculation might not have been too far off:
