  1. Is this the Al-Awlaki argument again? Dude was a terrorist and I’m sure if he were alive today you’d want him deported despite being a citizen
  2. I don’t mean to sound insensitive, but I don’t really see how slaughters in Africa have relevance to what’s going on in America. Unless you’re trying to imply Biden let them all in the US or something. But I’m pretty confident in saying the people committing those killings aren’t the ones being picked up by ICE at construction sites and Home Depot.
  3. If teams not allowing high school guys to train at the RTC because they committed to a different college isn’t definitive proof that RTC’s aren’t “separate” from the college programs, then I don’t know what is. I know PJ Duke mentioned that Lehigh was I believe the only RTC in his vicinity that allowed him to train there after he committed to PSU, so kudos to them.
  4. I am skeptical of this, I assume there will be easy workarounds, but TBD I guess.
  5. Horrible first post, sorry. You think Hellickson would have gotten fired for reporting that Strauss was repeatedly groping athletes? The fencing coach did report it, and she didn’t get fired. Even if DiSabato is a “turd,” all evidence says he is telling the truth about the abuse, and he inspired others to come forward. The abuse happened, so tOSU should have to pay.
  6. Did he actually say someone else offered more? I don’t recall that, IIRC he said something like “all the dollar offers were comparable”
  7. Pyle did comment about how he wanted to train at Iowa and was told they couldn’t due to compliance. But then said “as well as other personal dynamics,” whatever that means. Also used the “not feeling the love” wording
  8. Well he’s also only a sophomore.
  9. Why? Looking at what he actually wrote gives insight into his motives
  10. Adopted, according to Pistols Firing blog. He’s really good at wrestling. https://pistolsfiringblog.com/top-2027-wrestling-prospect-melvin-miller-includes-oklahoma-state-in-top-group/
  11. One would think. Seems like an easier solution would have been to hook Bill up with a job at Coe College (I kid, sorta). To @Coastal’s comments, isn’t there a thing about living within 250 miles of the RTC or something?
  12. Agree, Christianity didn’t “cause” it. But lots of people have killed and claimed it was in the name of Christianity
  13. Wouldn’t this flight stuff (or whatever else they were allegedly asking for) have been discussed prior to signing the original deal?
  14. Yeah good summary. A quote used was “he wasn’t feeling the love.”
  15. Probably Bill, not Bo.
  16. Willie and Basch about to go live
  17. I’m sure being a whackjob is why he made the decision to try to kill someone because of the death of his friend. But I think being a Christian was a factor in his decision on who he tried to kill…
  18. How ironic that this whole Bo Bachelor situation might end up being decided because the school that gets him might have wanted Miller more.
  19. No clue about his politics, but it does seem his Christianity was likely a factor. Looks like he was religious but was not happy with how that particular church was operating for some reason.
  20. The clear implication from the OP was that churches in general are being targeted. Looks like the motive for this one was likely specific to this guy blaming that particular church for his friend’s death.
  21. Minnow blaming it on Tom Brands
  22. Well as far as #1, what changed since he committed? A booster made some comments? That should be pretty far down the list of things he should care about IMO, especially since it’s not like the comments were racially-charged or something (which, btw a sponsor of tons of PSU/NLWC guys has been - https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/6749780-racially-divisive-post-leads-to-scraplife-shake-up) The reasons he said he committed to Iowa in the first place are all still there: tradition and the fact that he was a fan growing up, passionate fanbase (heck Bob’s comments probably even show that), Tom & Terry, plenty of Jesus-trained guys there too, and gets to train with Spencer Lee. Maybe teams were trashing Iowa/HWC because of Woods’s success after leaving and that HWC is nothing but Spencer? Even still, Spencer was our best guy at the Olympics… I’m speculating, but my guess is something with the money changed. Either something happened with his Iowa offer, or another school upped their offer. Based on Melvin’s comments, I’d lean towards it being something happened with the Iowa offer. If that’s true (and again, just speculating), that would make the “God told me…” comment a little silly. But hopefully we find out some more details to know for sure. I’m not really expecting to though.
  23. I think the point is he already “did his thing.” Started out with 70 schools or whatever and “wanted to take his time.” And now he’s changing his mind before he even starts his senior year of high school. I defended him before, but this isn’t really a great look IMO, unless something happened behind the scenes that we don’t know about. One of my main questions is…how exaggerated was the $5 million claims that were out there? And if they weren’t that exaggerated, how close is another school getting to that number?
  24. Yeah just read it. @VakAttack my first thought was something similar to what you posted in there. Seems weird that he’d say “I’ll never say a bad word about Iowa” immediately after saying Iowa “didn’t fit his wrestling and faith journey.” Given NLWC’s preference for prostitutes, I’m thinking they probably don’t fit his faith journey either. OSU It is
  25. I haven’t seen it, but Basch and Willie discussed slumlord Bob making a post on HR or whatever it’s called these days saying something to the effect of “Jordan Williams and Gabe Arnold need to figure it out.” No idea if that’s the reason. Is it possible he pulled the offer?
