  1. He went to NC almost 3 months ago....
  2. Iowa...Ok State...Ohio State...North Carolina....Las Vegas Invite...
  3. Things are heating up!
  4. I think. you can if you are an admin. In "text results" you can get an entire round of all weights. I think that is the most data you can pull at once.
  5. He struggled with several concussions. He was out for an entire year. For some of it he could not even work out at all - no weights, conditioning, etc. He came back second semester last season after sitting 12 months and had a pretty successful return. He has been healthy since. He wears protective headgear now due to his past concussions. He won a wrestle off with Wilson before the concussion issue, but I am not sure how much progress he lost being out 12 months. Manning seems to talk very highly of Wilson and seems to think he will be the starter there, which is obviously the best source.
  6. Interesting interview and lineup breakdown. No mention of Jagger Condomitti... Do you see him pushing for a spot? What weight?
  7. Spot on... when a handshake meant something... forget verbal, being signed and on a roster is now fair game. It's how some teams stay relevant.
  8. But is still able to be contacted by coaches without penalty....which is why the verbal has been a joke for years. Hence the term "flipped"
  9. "In its place will be a new financial aid agreement that will provide many of the same functions as the NLI and will be tied into a contract related to an eventual revenue-sharing model across college athletics."
  10. When Yianni was only verbally committed (2014?) and not signed he could still be contacted by coaches since it was only a verbal and nothing was signed. I don't think that NIL or the portal was a thing yet when he committed. After signed you cannot be contacted by coaches, but now in the NIL/Portal era, you can be contacted by a 3rd party to offer NIL to get you to transfer. I am not sure how Ivies do this. I read that NLI is now changing.
  11. There is a difference between Yianni being committed verbally and still being pursued until he actually signed and being signed and still being recruited by a 3rd party offering big money to go into the portal and switch schools.
  12. Yep... I have a hard time believing he can make that weight, let alone make it and perform at a high level. If he was able to safely do it and maintain an average gas tank, I agree, he could be a problem for people. His double jumped levels last year. He was a two round wrestler as it was. He didn't horribly tank matches by disintegrating in the 3rd, but you could definitely see the drop off. I hope he does well and gets on the podium. Good kid with a little funk and can be chippy. Looking forward to seeing this.
  13. Yeah... I don't get that whole "You get 3 scholarships, but you can't compete if you have one" thing.... can someone explain to this simple guy how that works?
  14. Pretty much where I am at.... he hasn't/didn't used length to his advantage at 141, so he will have to learn and add to his strategy, which would be a good one.
  15. They averaged over 400 per dual last season... what were you saying about having no clue about attendance?
  16. I'm interested to see 133.... Belton down a weight is going to be a tough cut.
  17. You can be guaranteed you will see the best 4th string vs 5th string matches you have ever seen. Heck, you might even see intramurals at this one.
  18. An 88 Toyota.
  19. Wasn't aware that GN was a narcissistic criminal handful.
  20. Yep - same as Buchanan and Parco..... having two guys in the locker room who have transferred twice must be two handfuls. I am not aware of any issues...maybe Oklahoma or Purdue fans know.
  21. Transfer - Gerrit Nijenhuis... 3x NQ - R16. I believe he redshirted last year.
  22. Yeah there is a ton of talent in that area for sure. FSU had a ton of kids from Clovis and Buchanan on the roster along with a few from Gilroy, Lenmore and Selma. Joint, Olivas, Hockit and Nevils all were NQ the first year they were eligible. Over the four years they also had Reyes, Olguin, Lloren, Saenz, Luchau, Parco, Wright, Solis... they also had Kemp, Cruz, Drury and Hemhauer who were out of state. Of course many of those guys went on to other schools after the program dropped and had good success - namely Parco. Bakersfield didn't have nearly as many guys on their roster from those schools - they did have a fair number from right in Bakersfield. Having said all of that, FSU definitely got the better recruiting from the valley, but here is the funny thing.... Bakersfield beat them all three times they dualed during that time. haha.
  23. 200 per dual isn't hard to top....You must have missed the new double roadrunner "bird" that is being embraced. What is your definition of "make money" for a team that 100% self supports? IF he makes it through the season, they will make money...if he doesn't, they won't lose money.
  24. The other side of the story is that they get the scraps of CA recruiting because they are a 100% self -supported wrestling program. It is difficult to give full scholarships to top prospects from CA when 1) you don't have the budget, (2) you are competing against Stanford, Cal Poly, Cal Baptist, ASU and Oregon State who all recruit very heavily there, (3) your facilities aren't great and (4) you are located in Bakersfield. I am sure they would love to implement your strategy if budget allowed. They won 1 total match at the Pac-12 tourney last year...that is correct they went 1-26 the entire tourney. The fans, myself included, cheered like crazy when Esocbedo took 5th. You don't think that having 2 potential AA and possibly a finalist isn't creating some buzz around CSUB? Last year they averaged around 200 per dual...I am guessing that when LR comes to town and Ferrari and Little go at it, they will have a few more than 200 just to see that match. So having said all of that, let me flip the question, who are these parents and wrestlers who actually had CSUB on their list that might not go now because Ferrari was there for a year? They have created buzz around the program, and IF Ferrari keeps clean, it could be a win win for both.... or it could completely blow up as I have acknowledged many times.
  25. He may not "build" but if he makes it through the season unscathed and has success, it will definitely be a recruiting point for CSUB even if he leaves for NIL. And I will go out on a short limb here and say that the Pac-12 may be the best conference in the country at 197.
