  1. PSU just gained Jayden James as a flip from VT...so they are doing alright.
  2. Agree... some underperformed for PSU and Nebraska would have to keep the same results or better.
  3. Portal going crazy ... 3x AA Lachlan McNeil Brian Soldano A Jayden James flip from VT to Penn State Spencer Moore Man, there are some quality guys switching singlets
  4. I would love to see Nebraska win...I'm an Idaho Lovett fan... but they are more like 3-4 top level guys away. PSU returns 115 points in 6 weights (excluding Davis who will be replaced by Ono) Nebraska returns 87 points in 8 weights Nebraska has to pick up 23 points if PSU only wrestles with 6 guys... however we know that they just reload... Ono, Blaze, Desmond, Mirasola x2, Sealy, Cochran, Ryder... out of that group guys will rise up, fill spots and score some points at the NCAA. Even if each one scored 7 points on the conservative side, that's still 143 points... that's 56 points to make up. I would love to see a team like Nebraska do it, but they would need a lot of help.
  5. So what are you renaming the Hodge then? The "Biggest win of the year award because we threw Hodge criteria out the window"?
  6. Yep - I know...

  9. Carroll originally committed to Illinois - with their recent improvement I wonder if he has thoughts of going back to the school he never actually went to.
  10. What if the eyeball test was the test...

  12. Yeah, WIN is good and is one of the few (maybe the only one) that actually has a formula. Wrestlesat also has point value. This article still doesn't address that there are actually 4 criteria. The website for the award and the NCAA have the same exact verbage of there being 7 criteria. At the end of the day, those who vote are going to make their 1st- 2nd-3rd place votes on who they feel best represents the 7 criteria - each voter will have bias and an emphasis in their own mind of why a wrestler gets their 1st - 2nd - 3rd place vote....like the Heisman...which should have been won by Jeanty.
  13. Voters don’t simply put a name next to each of the 7 criteria and whoever has wins the most criteria get their vote They give placements like the Heisman. “The winner of the Hodge Trophy is determined based on a voting process that includes previous Hodge members, national media members, retired college coaches from each region of the United States, and a representative of the national wrestling organizations in the country. Fans also have a chance to vote for the Hodge winner, and the athlete with the most fan votes will receive two first-place votes in the count. Voting is typically conducted after the conclusion of the NCAA tournament, and the winner is announced in April.”
  14. Where do you find the 4 criteria? The ncaa site and the Dan Hodge site state there are 7 criteria.
  15. WAY TO GO IDAHO!!!
  16. Hardy went on a two year church mission so he didn't wrestle for two years ......Gable went on a two year professional sports mission.
  17. You don't see a program and their feeder school both on the hot seat very often.
  18. Obviously the good choice to go with Kennedy over Brands for the post-season. Glad Kennedy final made it - he has been loyal and a dawg for Iowa.
  19. Hardy looking tough with the crazy pin... Mendez on a mission.
  20. Iowa may need a new feeder program. THe calls for Figs may quiet.
