That's interesting....I saw him back in February at the NC dual and he did not look that big. He looked 149/157. I wonder if he beefing up to 165. He's actually been at OSU for several months now. Last I heard he was going both styles at the open. Kinda weird he isn't going greco.

Vega is a hammer. One year in the room and he will be pushing for a starting spot. The kid just keeps getting better.

Wow... I thought you could only get 1 year back...interesting....so you could be held back in high school, go on a mission...go to two years of JC....redshirt...then start D1 at age 24. Crazy.

Perfect example of how a mid-tier team can work hard to build a team, develop kids, then not have money to keep them. Also a perfect example of how teams can buy wrestlers who are already AA and get to benefit from a mid-tier program. Good for kids making money for those of you who are going to jump in with the poor college kid story.

Yeah...."low AA" as freshman anywhere else would be huge, but at PSU it's not good enough and your a failure and need to be replaced.

NCAA athletes have wanted to be treated like pros through all of this... get paid, unionize, etc. If that is the route, then the NCAA should be able to act as the NFL in this scenario and enact things similar to rookie contracts, salary caps and competitive balance.

I'm not questioning them leaving.... but it's reported Welsh is going to PSU. Edit: And I agree, someone is probably leaving. I am guessing Ryder - too good to ride the bench. Unless Welsh comes in and Ryder hammers him...that would be a fun portal story.

True.... but are the cast offs - 3rd 4th 5th guys in a weight, going to be of use to a mid-size program? I see them being more of an asset to very small programs in D1 , D2 or NAIA.
