He's on the list, but does not have a weight next to his name. It's just not in this screenshot. Same as Trost, Tanefeus and of course Consuelos...we can't forget where he fits into the picture.
-
On that note, ASU currently has 10 heavyweights.
-
One of them could have been at 165.1...the other at 174..... I suspect they are at 165 and 174. Interesting to see Walters at 197 already.
-
Agree... there is a lot of talent that will be riding the bench the next few years that could be competing and making college wrestling as a whole getter. We are missing out on some of these guys bettering a program, potentially getting on the podium and making brackets much more fun.
-
It won't affect a two horse race. Ok State can only start 10 guys...as noted they have potentially 13 guys in 5 weights... not keeping everyone happy and having some leave to become AA at other schools is a good thing. Ask BearClaw and UVU how that worked out and it didn't hurt PSU one bit, because they can only have 10 guys. So I'm all for not keeping the PSU and Ok States of the world happy.
-
This happens with almost every guy bumped up or planning to go down in order to be able to descend back down to their weight per the guidelines. If you are at 165 instead of 161 you will delay going back down by two weeks.
-
Am I the only one who doesn't want Ok State to keep everyone happy and would like to see implosion with kids being spread out to other programs?
-
You should be more concerned about what he is having to explain to Stiles....
-
Where there is a will there is a Kahwi Leonard....
-
I hope so...he is still a little behind Coon and Schultz...but he is making gains. It seems we always have a few guys who win world medals and even world titles and younger ages, but we can never get them on the podium later.
-
I would be surprised if they went that direction this year. Lamer is a 174lber...he was bumped up last year at Poly and pretty small for 184. Rademacher has the frame to put on more weight, and with his olympic aspirations I could see him over the next 1-2 years bulking up to 230-35 (ala Snyder) in order to be big at 97kg. I think they will run with Hastriter/McDonnell at heavy this year, but it will be interesting to see what Rademacher does the next few years. On a separate note, Olguin comes back this year as well.

Little Rock payback.
-
When you've seen Wade, you've seen them all.... I will see myself out.
-
I assume McClane since he's better and they already have Ruiz at 165. Might be a little of a cut, but I don't see why he would come back to wrestle only to ride the bench at 165.
-
Yep... tough to split your time training for your goal of being a world champ in greco and being committed to OSU wrestling along with the education piece. Spot starter Charlie Hastriter will step in at Heavy and we will probably see some of true freshman Khale McDonnell as well.

Poor kid losing those millions and having to walk on and wrestle off for a roster spot.
-
I think so too...with Larkin down at 149 and McLane back in the lineup.
-
Yeah, you don't know Justin so.... Why go to Iowa when he has already jumped levels and won a world title at Oregon State. The kid wants to get better, not worse.
-
Justin Rademacher....the world champ. You can be a world champ at Oregon State.

WAY TO GO IDAHO!

When the assistant to the regional manager says something to keep employees in line, it doesn't matter. Then when the manager says something, it has slightly more weight. But when the owner of the company, who is paying out the bonuses speaks, it can make a big difference. And...they have the right to do so. The great thing, is that you have a choice to heed the advice and stick with the company that's paying you a good salary, or start looking for a new job.
-
Yes -True - but athletes are not limited to just what the school is going to pay out to them, which in the case of wrestling will be nothing in most cases - as we all know. Compared to what the arbitrator will see in football cases, the wrestling cases will be peanuts, which I hope results in few obstacles for wrestling
-
Athletes can still get NIL deals outside of the school collective... "Bo Knows Used Cars of Nebraska" could still happen out side of any school payment. Since most wrestling programs won't really share in that pot of money from their school, they will have to depend on what they have already been depending on- outside NIL deals from donors.

All this transgender athlete fuss lately. . .
Idaho replied to Wrasslin's topic in College Wrestling
You asked a general question and got a general question...and now use a very specific examples of a very rare syndrome. Of course there are going to be very, very limited syndromes and other things that come up in the discussion. Do you think that redefines the entire system of what a female or male is? So let's get right to the heart of it, what is your definition of male and female and do you support biological males with a penis with xy chromosomes competing against girls born with a vagina and xx chromosomes? -
