  1. I think this is a great move by Nickal for the sport. Some in the JJ community are making up excuses as to why the wrestlers had a good showing despite losing - even claiming that Nolf greased. IMO Nickal is just flipping the script to show that a top ranked JJ could not last in a wrestling match like the wrestlers lasted in grappling. I doubt anyone accepts the challenge- a WT level wrestler will tech them inside a minute. It will make them look really bad. If they don't accept they also look bad - especially putting up 10k. Good move whether you love or hate PSU IMO. Nolf's breakdown of the match and the greasing
  2. Wow.... I wonder how this all went down...good for Texas.
  3. Fauxbon 2- Adding two AA to your college roster is not exactly putting Iowa in the RTC top spot. NLWC is losing guys, but they will restock with the next group up. You cited 7 guys leaving NLWC and 4 of them went to the Cowboy RTC. So you have the Cowboy RTC gaining 4 important pieces and HWC adds two college guys, but HWC is soon to be the top RTC? LOL
  4. Official RBY
  5. RBY ?
  6. RBY to Cowboy RTC... does that count?
  7. John Smith after incident last summer; “I think more importantly, personally he’s growing,” Smith said last season after Williams won the starting job. “And that’s what has to happen first. He’s personally growing up, he seems to understand what’s at stake. There’s been times in the season where I wanted to step back and just give the weight class to Sammy. I think for Jordan, recognizing that, ‘Hey, I lost my spot there for a while and may have lost it period.’ “I think it’s helped him grow up, more than helped him get his head on and become a better wrestler. I think he sees a little bit of about what the world can do to you if you’re not careful, and I’m sure glad to see him just grow up and take responsibility and come in the mornings– our morning workouts, he’s one of the first ones here now. Just some good things are happening for him right now that he sees. His mindset is really at a good place of helping him develop as we go forward here.” DT response after recent incident: Jordan Williams is no longer part of the Cowboy Wrestling program due to a rules violation,” Taylor said in a statement. “We wish him well as he moves forward.”
  8. It will be interesting to see how this plays out for round 2.
  9. Yep no problem. At this point, it is rather pointless to even list these things off of wrestlestat for any team or conference since the portal is still active and wrestlestat does not have information to proclaim starters since it is more or less formulaic. The OP is not directly from Wrestlestat as claimed - I will point out a couple below. As school enrollment hits, portal announcements are made, and public info is made available about weight changes, redshirts, etc. then things will change.... Zinkin will be a starter at 133 or 141... Santino is in the portal and in not even listed as a starter as the OP claims. Sean Harman transferred to Oregon State from Missouri - He will be a projected starter, but not in WS Nash SIngleton DID compete at the Pac 12, finishing 4th at 149 - He is down at his natural weight again at 141 Attao will be the projected starter at HWT at OSU - He has a win over Hastriter last year by pin - He is listed as the projected starter in WS - not as the OP says. Don't be surprised to see Brock Rogers back up at 157 for CSB with Farias at 149. This isn't in wrestlestat, but.... There will be a lot more changes coming....
  10. Where have you been? Might want to follow wrestling as a whole sport....but hey, I will catch you up to speed. ASU and Stanford left the conference as schools which leaves the Pac12 at 4.... they (like any other conference) qualify for a two year waiver. The champions of each weight get an automatic bid, but all others will go into the at-large like the rest of the conferences.
  11. Was that before or after you edited your initial post? Speaking of facts rather than regurgitating wrestlestat, maybe you should pay a little more attention to the Pac 12 (4).... such as the starter at Oregon State is projected to be Sean Haraman transfer from Missouri. Pretty known fact. Also, there are guys redshirting and changing weights, etc.. Maybe add some of your own factual knowledge from actually following teams rather than being copy and paste king.
  12. Haven't read a single post wishing him bad luck... if anything, I think everyone here hopes (as has been stated by many including myself) that he can turn things around. Who are you to say that he has not been offered help already? He actually did not fulfill his requirements from the incident last summer, which were meant to provide help. "According to court records, Williams failed to report under supervision as of March 13 and had not completed the requirements of his deferred sentence as of Aug. 8; a drug and alcohol evaluation, 30 hours of community service, the completion of Oklahoma’s Alcohol and Drug Substance Abuse Course and attending a victim’s impact panel." From an article today that seems like he is okay ""Yes, it happened," he wrote in an Instagram story post. "I would like to apologize to everyone that supports me. I made a mistake and I can't go back and change that and also I am doing well!! also wanted to say thank you to Oklahoma State!!"
  13. Okay...yesterday.... my comment still stands.
  14. That's a pretty quick rumor for a guy who was just dismissed today and might not even be awake yet....
  15. Lots of mistakes here.....Lots... But you know some people block others from providing accurate information.
  16. There was already whisperings about Williams when DT arrived. The sad part about this is that despite his problems last year, having DT come in with strict policies, he chose to do this again. Hopefully he can get things straightened out and get to another school down the road. We have seen others succeed.
  17. This thread is a half day late - it was reported yesterday and is publicly out there. BTW this post does not hurt the wrestling brand on a wrestling message board....it hurts the brand where it has already been posted to the public.
  18. props @cowcards for explanations.... It's not like the NCAA hasn't been filled with questions, vague policy and flip flopping for the last 5 years.
  19. He is only going to have three sets of college fans anyway.... the team he signs with...the team he transfers to....and the team he grad transfers to. Most people will end up not being his "fan" anyway.
  20. Well one of the guys is 285 and Slack is an undersized 197, so I am not sure it applies to all Amen.... Preach it brother!
  21. Good find! Follow up: can they attend a different institution in the Fall semester and transfer for Spring - or do they also have to be enrolled at the institution in the fall they will be competing for in the Spring? EX. if Buchanan enrolls and attends Oklahoma (but doesn't compete) this Fall, but is in the portal as a grad, can he transfer at Spring to complete at Iowa OR does he have to be at Iowa in the Fall to complete in Spring?
  22. Yes - enter beginning in August (or date the year starts) up to the last day of the Spring window for wrestling. However, it does not make clear if you can actually be eligible. that season. I have heard 2nd semester eligibility, but have never seen it in writing. Just like everything going on with the NCAA the last 5 years, nothing is clear.
  23. I keep asking this question - the rule change is obvious and in writing by the NCAA that there is one portal opening in Spring and now grad transfers also have to go by the same date. Those saying Teemer and Buchanan are being recruited by Iowa say there is a second portal in the Fall for grads, but I have not seen that anywhere. What would be hilarious if that was an Iowa assumption, they spent all this money to recruit them, then find out they can't go in the portal. A fitting ending.
  24. Not being sarcastic, but why would he? University of Tokyo is on par if not better than PSU as far as education. Seems like his training and coaching he and the team have received has been pretty good and proven to be better than the US on this cycle. Not anti-PSU, but not sure what the advantage would be. I am also not familiar with the financial opportunities he has in Japan vs US.
  25. I would argue they are doing a side rub on the nipple....which means you are in. Congratulations!
