So Espo has been with the Cowboys since forever, I wonder why he wasn’t the heir apparent. I get that Coleman has an Olympic medal and head coaching experience, but Espo is a guy who has been there for many years.
Well I know ( for Greco ) that this isn’t the results that we had hoped for, but I think that there was some bright spots with Bey’s Silver medal, and other guys picking up some wins here and there and battling tough. Hopefully these guys can find something to build on.
Zane Richards was pretty impressive IMO, I think that he got lulled into the other guys match in the finals. Hopefully he can make the necessary adjustments for the Worlds.
SnyderMan’s first match was a little surprising, hopefully he can make some tweaks between now and the Worlds. I am sure that they will face off at the Championships. I am also a little disappointed that Snyder’s opponent forfeited in the finals. I would have liked to see those two go at it again.
Well the U20 Pan Ams just concluded and we had a stellar performance from all three squads. Congrats to team USA. I would have liked to see Cuba there but I guess it is what it is.
This should be a very good and tough tournament. I am looking forward to seeing our guys and gals doing well, in what looks to be the last tournament before the Worlds.
I would be very surprised if JG can make the team at 65. But anything is possible. At his age I think that he would be better off physically going to 74. But I don’t see him getting past Nolf or Dake. Maybe this is a long term strategy to try and get back on the team at 70 in 2025.
I believe that the rule change should be that if you obviously drop to your knees in the zone, and then get pushed out of bounds, that should be a point.
Well both Gilman and Burroughs are World Champions, and they both got beat by guys who have yet to medal or Win at the World Championships. But as one poster said Burroughs is battling Father Time as well as Chance, so I think the bigger upset would be Gilman. But Yianni wouldn’t be that far behind either.
Well, something is amiss with Fix. Question is, what? Is it an injury? Is it that people have figured him out? Is it something else, or a combination of things? And what does Fix do about it? Now I don’t know if Fix has any eligibility left, his Bio says that he’s a Redshirt Senior, but there’s the Covid year and an Olympic year, so idk. But if he’s done with college does he stay or does he make a move to another RTC?
I’m sure Colon feels bad like Gwizz. However even though Colon had a tremendous World tournament when he won his World Bronze, he did get in as an alternate. Does that make a difference in his mind, I doubt it.
As for Cox vs Snyder, Snyder has been holding the advantage over Cox, and SnyderMan is a World and Olympic Champ, the guys Fix lost to weren’t. Anyway we’ll see how things work out here in a month.
I get that some of these other guys had performances that they didn’t want, but Fix is a World Silver medalist and this will be the 2nd year in a row that he doesn’t make the team.
Bad day for Fix, I wonder if whatever injury he had that prevented him from entering the Open was still hindering him. Also Kollin Moore with his arm and leg wrapped, I have to think that he wasn’t 100% either.
Nate Jackson, Seth Gross, some head scratchers here. I understand that this is a stacked field but I am a little surprised about some of these matches.
