  1. Well looking forward to the Natty’s, I think Spencer should win it, Woods should get in the finals, and Cass should AA pretty high. I’m not sure if the guy who won the Big 12’s is as good as they say so we’ll see. As for the rest of the team, I like Murin, I think he gets it done this year. Kennedy obviously had a great tournament at the Big 10’s but 165 is so stacked with studs it’s going to be a hard road for him. Maybe a low AA unless something phenomenal happens for him. Jacob Warner just hasn’t been wrestling that well this year so idk, maybe he gets 7th or 8th, but I think that the grind of all these years in the Iowa mat room has gotten to him. As for Teske, Siebrecht, Brands, and Assad, I think will win a couple of matches, but unless they come out and have a great tourney, I just don’t see much more than a couple of wins for each of them.
  2. SnyderMan won 14-4 over the Iranian, so he’s in the finals. Ty Waltz lost in the semifinals and will go for the bronze
  3. Boise St. and Fresno St. need to be restored
  4. The US Open is a great event, you’ll get to see a ton of action with a lot of our top wrestlers.
  5. Well he’s a 3 time NCAA champ and if for some reason he doesn’t get his fourth it would be a disappointment in my opinion. If his career would come to an end I think he would still go down as one of the best Iowa wrestlers ever. But hopefully his knees do handle the rigors of training and competition, and he does go on to win World titles and Olympic Golds.
  6. Well I am looking forward to watching this dual, I think that it’s going to be an uphill climb for most of the Hawkeyes. I am hoping that Big Cass can come away with a win however.
  7. Wow, nice win for Princeton
  8. I think Iowa gets some of their guys to AA, and Spencer I believe will be a 4 timer, but I look up and down Iowa’s lineup and I just don’t see it. And yeah maybe Penn St. gets a flat tire here and there but, Penn St. is loaded and there’s still plenty of other studs across the country that will probably do a heck of a lot better than anyone suspects.
  9. I like Shane Sparks, I like his energy
  10. According to social media, Adam Coon is returning to CKWC, hopefully this will turn into an opportunity for him to get back on the Senior team.
  11. Well I don’t know what the future holds for Spencer but if he wins his fourth and then goes on to win a Win or Olympic title, I could see him taking over the helm in Iowa City.
  12. So, I don’t see Fix dropping to 57, (1) I think dropping would take a toll on his body and (2) he then has to face Gilman, who has become a force for us at this weight. It just doesn’t add up for me. As far as Spencer goes, he could win the US Open and then challenge Gilman, but I don’t think we see him wrestling at 57 until next year for the Olympics. The reason I say this is because I think that his knees and his recovery isn’t where it needs to be to win a World Championship.
  13. Well if this is going to be the way they do it this year, I think it will be important to give our college guys and gals the necessary time to prepare for the US Open.
  14. Well if Cox doesn’t get SnyderMan, and I don’t think he will, I think Snyder’s run will continue until old age or an injury gets him. And as far as Ferrari is concerned, it’s obvious that his career has taken a significant detour, and we’ll just have to see what happens there. But if I were a betting man, I would say Ferrari is going to wind up in MMA, long before he can get to the point where he could become a serious challenger to Snyder.
  15. So let’s say that we see Burroughs, Dake, and Taylor retire after the 2024 Olympics. Do AD’s immediately go out and try and hire them, or do they wait for them to do a few years as assistants first? I also wonder about Brent Metcalf, he has a ton of international experience as well as the College accolades, he might be a guy that could be very capable. I do think that if I was an AD, I would give both Jake Varner, and Casey Cunningham interviews.
  16. Anyone have any idea where AJ Ferrari is going to end up at? Providing he gets to go somewhere.
  17. So I know it’s early but does anyone know when and where Final X will be located this year? And if it will it be split into two venues like it has been these last few years?
  18. Well I thought Zane wrestled a great match and congrats to him on his win. I was also very impressed with Seth Gross. It seems like he’s really upped his game. Yianni, I think is in a little bit of a rough patch but I think he will break out of it at some point. Al Panteleo wrestled well, I do think that had he stayed on the gas a little more he wouldn’t have been in the situation he found himself in at the end of the bout. Jason Nolf has improved greatly, I think that trip he took to Russian with SnyderMan a couple of years ago helped him immensely. Jordan Burroughs is an all time great and I am not sure if he what the situation was but I am sure that he will be better the next time we see him. Zahid looked very good, but I think his conditioning needs a little bit more. I think that he could have closed his opponent out if his gas tank was a little better. Nate Jackson, nice job. I am beginning to think he might end up being the guy at 92 for us. SnyderMan is SnyderMan. His match was the big match of the night for me. And although it was controlled by him I would have liked to see a couple of more takedowns, but it was a tough match and a great win. Zillmer is a stud but he’s undersized. He is really going to need to get some size on him. Maybe he needs to hang out with SnyderMan in the weight room ( just kidding). Anyway great job at the WC for our men.
  19. Well congrats to our MFS for winning a tough fought scrap against Iran
  20. Anyone have any idea on what is going on with our Greco team? Matt Lindland was let go and they brought in Ivan Ivanov and now I see that he has abruptly resigned. I wonder who can Team USA can bring in to lead this program.
  21. I would rather see him win an Olympic medal. And preferably that medal be Gold.
  22. Congrats to Coach Smith, well deserved in my opinion
  23. Well I know that we didn’t have a World Cup in 2020, and 2021. I also know that in 2019 we didn’t send our number 1 guys, however we were still able to take 3rd place. I know that in 2019 the World Cup was being held in mid March so I don’t know if our number one guys weren’t available or there was something else going on. Anyway I am looking forward to this event and it should be a lot of fun I got lucky and got to go see three World Cups in a row 2014, 2015, and 2016, when they were being held at the Forum in Inglewood, (Los Angeles). I saw a ton of super great matches at those events. One of my favorites was Brent Metcalf coming back to defeat Nasiri (Iran ) after being down a ton. It’s always fun rooting for Team USA, at these events especially when there are large spirited contingents of other fans especially the very vocal Iranians.
  24. Well for the sake of some of these lower tiered teams, hopefully they can have success so they have something to build on and maybe attract some wrestlers that they might not otherwise get. I like to see schools that usually don’t do well, get an AA, or some other type of success so it energizes the program.
  25. Nice job for the Terps. It seems like Coach Clemsen and his staff, have their team moving in the right direction. I get that it’s still early in the season, but I am sure that the team and the fans are excited about these early results.
