  1. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
  2. Just listened to the Bo Nickal podcast with them from last month. Conner says he tops off at 205 and is just over 197 after practice. Cole says he's 225 and hoping to get to 235-240 by the start of next season.
  3. Except there basically is a push-out rule. Refs call it stalling at least every other pushout, if not every pushout. Those stalling points add up.
  4. Not sure how you get that from what I said - some guys transfer every year, so no. It depends on the transfer credit policy at the destination school; not every school allows unlimited transfer credits.
  5. My advice to all professional athletes - put it all in an S&P Index fund and leave it alone. Also, pay 3% to me for that advice.
  6. The more academically competitive schools limit the number of transfer credits allowed. So you can transfer after one year or as a grad. transfer, but not in between.
  7. You can't assume it's the best training environment just because it's PSU. Maybe the coaches only focus on their stars? Maybe Barr doesn't like to train with him? It's a successful environment for the starters but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best for backups.
  8. PSU has Barr at 197 and Welch at 184 (doubt Mirasola could make 184 anyway). Why isn't this kid in the transfer portal? He could be a 4xAA for some other team.
  9. IL high school wrestling is always underrated year after year.
  10. PA and IL are surprisingly close in population
  11. It's impossible to be original when the jokes write themselves.
  12. The likelihood of me trying to wrestle goes up 10% with each .01 increase in BAC after .10
  13. This actually makes the kid more likeable. Not one of those Jesus-crazed robots that fill out the rest of the PSU roster. What's more concerning is that he was taken down and ridden out by a cop.
  14. Right? Why doesn't someone just fly to Tuscaloosa and start a program at Alabama?
  15. LOL. It's not you, it's me.
  16. Some of you are probably wondering if I can see the future, since I posted this topic back in March. All I can say is to hold off on buying Tesla stock for 12 months.
  17. At $1,000/mo. and not covered by insurance, probably cost-prohibitive.
  18. At the urging of @Pinnacle this event is hereby renamed the "Salty Bitch Duals"
  19. 2020-21 - won title as a true frosh for Ok. St; season doesn't count against his eligibility due to covid rules. 2021-22 - injury-shortened season. Unclear whether he gets a medical redshirt. 2022-23 - did not complete. 2023-24 - did not complete. 2024-25 - 3rd at NCAAs for Bakersfield. How does the NCAA treat the 2 season he didn't compete? I thought the rule is your clock starts once you start wrestling and doesn't stop for breaks. Am I wrong about this? Or is the argument that those 2 yrs. off are his redshirt and Olympic redshirt yrs?
  20. When's the last time Ryder's wrestled 174? I'm guessing Thompson beats out Merrill at 197. Guys who are successful at 215/hwt. and come down often don't have the scrambling skills to keep up with the guys who were middleweights in HS or college.
  21. I suspect his walking around weight is the same as the Ok. St. 141 lbers walking around weight. I also disagree that 125 scrambles are different from 141-165 scrambles, but I acknowledge reasonable minds can differ.
  22. Kennedy wrestled 141. I expect he could work with lightweights, up to middleweights. Not as much flexibility with Gilman. Do they have an upper weight guy though? I'd think you want a young assistant at each end of the weight spectrum.
  23. But what is that in stones? Go back to Europe! USA, USA!
  24. Isn't Kennedy there already? Not sure they need two little guy coaches anyways.
