  1. As Trump supporters like to say: FOUR MORE YEARS!
  2. I thought Robinson 25 and Camacho 33 would be the route NCSU would take. I am not sure moving weights during the season is a great idea, but it is early now.
  3. Idk, Broney was supposedly paid huge money for those commercials he did with his dad. Some of these QBs have gotten large deals too. Equal pay women vs men in the commercial world? Maybe for equal work- meaning, the woman must increase sales as much as the man for the product, good, or service they are shilling. We should remember we are not communist, yet. Equal outcomes is not the goal. Equal opportunity is. With Equal opportunity in hand go sale yourself and make all the money you can, regardless of your sex.
  4. You do realize he put 16 points vs Stemmet last time they met? Oh, that is right, Stemmet wasn't trying.
  5. Btw, Molton was first alternate for the NCAA tournament each of the last two years.
  6. It's a budget shortfall problem for the most part. CU was budgeting for enrollment growth, instead they have had enrollment declines for the past few years. A lot of capital expenditures for new buildings expecting growth that did not happen. It has been said the goal is to SOMEDAY more fully fund wrestling, but that is not possible at this time. A group of passionate people are working hard to raise funds to keep Campbell competitive at rollhumps.org. Donating and spreading the word is all that can be done for now. Campbell will have everyone wrestling this year as these cuts do not take effect until the 25-26 season. Roll Humps!
  7. In reference to Campbell wrestling in an empty gym. I beg to differ. B1G crowds? Not hardly. Empty gym? Also not hardly. Campbell puts on a good show and the fans have a good time. And by the looks of it the guys have a good time too. https://www.facebook.com/GoCamelsWrestle/videos/1046742369769008/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v Campbell is having their wrestle offs in the parking lot in front of the main gate of the football stadium at Saturday's homecoming football game. It should be a fun atmosphere! Campbell athletics is facing a budget crunch. HOPEFULLY this will be a temporary situation and proper funding can be restored. Until such time, Campbell Wrestling will need to raise funds to keep the program competitive. Campbell IS NOT dropping the program! Alumni and friends of the program are going all out to help bridge the gap. For those willing and able to contribute, you can go to Rollhumps.org to make a contribution. This a quick website set up to take donations. Other ways to help is spread the word. Podcasts and Blogs mentioning Campbell's fundraising efforts would be tremdous help for those with contacts with such. Campbell is a small private school, in a small town in North Carolina with an enrollment in the 4K range and thus a small alumni base, but they're passionate and want to keep Campbell Wrestling competitive. Today Campbell had an open practice with faculty members invited. As the team broke a pre practice huddle every team member went to each faculty member in attendance and shook their hands and said thank you for coming. CU wrestling loves the faculty and the faculty seemed genuinely concerned for the wrestlers. Tough times make tough men. These young men will not be a pushover this year. I sense this is a team on a mission. Any and all help IS appreciated.
  8. "Q: Will UW change its sport offerings? A. UW Athletics plans to maintain its current offering of 23 sports. We are taking a nuanced, sport-by-sport and unit-by-unit approach to address the financial challenges we are facing." This! If a B1G school the size of UW feels the pain for non revenue sports, what will it be like at much smaller schools? All I can say is hold on to your hats, the ride may get very bumpy!
  9. This NOT the last year of Campbell! Not by a long shot!! Due to belt tightening the administration cut scholarships from 9 to 3. The way it was done is tough on returners, but other schools will feel the roster reduction pain as well. MANY schools have rosters larger than 30 and they will be forced to cut their numbers too, if they are part of the revenue sharing plan.
  10. Correction: Campbell wrestles Wyoming on UFCfightpass on October 31 by special permission of the NCAA. It should be a barn burner! Wyoming were great host last year and both teams wanted to "run it back." Coach Branch, Sentes and UFCfightpass are sure to make it another special EVENT. It will be a great way to kick off the season in style!
  11. They were visionary! SMU set up the revenue sharing model the NCAA now uses!
  12. They were just ahead of the times. Everyone legally does it now.

  14. Campbell University is in the mix. Illinois has 47 seasons on the line up, Iowa 41 (w/Shriver 44) Campbell has 44.
  15. We are raising money to replace the scholarships.
  16. " "I do not have "special knowledge" but if the scholly guys return and keep the money without being on the team it is no longer an athletic scholarship" They offer this as cover, IMO. I cannot speak from authority. Speculation only.
  17. I am not "special knowledge" but if the scholly guys return and keep the money without being on the team it is no longer an athletic scholarship.
  18. I am fairly close to the program. I am just an alumni, fan, and live close by the school. Buies Creek is a VERY small town. Take away the students and professors and it is at best a 1000 or so population. A couple of small businesses. All that being said, it takes a lot of hustle to make it. From what I am hearing the revenue sharing is all consuming. Football and mbball is sucking all of the air out of the room. The school has not done a good job of budgeting and are "belt tightening." They are fighting for any money they can to maintain the glamor sports. Wrestling doesn't draw well, has a large roster, and had 9 schollys. (Had already given back .5 schollys) So wrestling has to shrink. Shrink roster and shrink scholarships. I do not understand the math and it has not be explained fully to me. 45 on the roster minus 9 scholarships = 36 paying students. If the roster is cut to 25-30 with 3 schollys you have 22-27 paying, meaning a net loss of income.(???) But I feel (IMO) it is revenue sharing and balancing men and women's scholarships, and the number of participants. All while trying to increase scholarships for football and men's bball. It is a sorry state of affairs in The Creek. A big knot in my stomach. I feel helpless. I have no idea what the answer is. Local fundraising is tough. There are not any Ashton Kutcher's around to save the day. I am grateful the program was not cut completely, but I do not feel much better. CU has (had) a very solid program. Then the rug pull. Sickening. I am telling you, you do not want this feeling. Go watch your favorite team, donate, and be an active supporter, but even that may not be enough.
  19. Campbell may be one of the first, but you can bet you bottom dollar they will not be the last. If you are not in the B1G, ACC, or bigtime program in the B12 you may want to be nervous. I have a feeling this type of is not over.
  20. No, the admin did not drop the program. But it is hard to sing baritone, when they cut your off! It is more than cutting from 9 to 3 schollys. All the money promised to returners, the money for the recruits, gone. Guys that have put in years at Campbell grinding are going to be told to hit the pavement. All the blood sweat and tears these young men had worked toward is blown up in a blink of the eye. It is not just the starters that suffer, but the will, the back ups- you know the grinders- who will suffer as much or more. They are simply kicked to the curb. They have no where to go. The admin wants a small roster will 3 schollys. After all everyone has done to raise that program to where it is today. It is a sad day. Better than being dropped entirely? Yes. But right now it doesn't feel much different.
  21. This is gutwrenching for me. Obviously, Campbell is not a big school in a big time wrestling conference. But they have busted their butt's on and off the mat to build a very solid program. They have zero big boosters funding the team. They do have a lot of small donors who gave everything they could to help the program succeed. Coach Scottie Sentes has worked twice as hard as any coach should to work to keep the progress moving forward. He partnered with UFCfightpass to bring college wrestling to Fort Bragg. Teams entered matches from cargo planes in a hanger. He partnered with UFCfightpass several times to bring more exposure for the sport of wrestling, never taking the easy way out. Who does little ol' Campbell bring to make this happen? Michigan and North Carolina! Coach Sentes partnered up last year with Wyoming and Coach Branch to wrestle a match in a barn at over 8000 feet elevation. Of course with UFC fight pass it was a show. This year it CU brings Nebraska in for a match on the baseball field with @Claw wrestling showcasing a tremendous match during halftime. Innovation and hard work brings success and exposure and of course your program gutted!!!
  22. Teaching him to control his impulses. Showing him techniques to handle adversity without bringing harm to himself, team, or opponents. People evolve and mature at different times and in different ways. Some people go directly from point A to point B and are rightly praised for doing so. Others take the long winding road. I do not like giving up on young people. Full stop. How many chances should he get? As many as it takes to have him succeed. Too many people hope and cheer for failure. We have a recent world teamer who has been given many many Chances. He has been thru hell, drugs, violence, the criminal system, multiple colleges, but it seems he has been able to put it behind him and is taking things one day at a time. He is winning today and has won many "todays" of late and I could not be happier for him. My hope for AJ is to win today.
  23. Yes, I was went to KC. I enjoyed it, too. I would like to see the torney held in the sunny south. Charlotte, Orlando, Dallas, Atlanta all would be good options.
  24. Campbell will have their wrestle-offs on football game day in front of the main gate!
