  1. Depends on when a kid burns out in my opinion. If you are taking about high school/college aged kids then sure. But when you are taking about very young kids training year round and cutting weight then burn out is real and easily avoidable through moderation. Watch the Keegan O’Toole documentary on Flo
  2. Randy Lewis vs John Smith in Topeka and then at the trials were awesome matches. Two guys at or near their peak going at it. Whoever won trials was going to be an Olympic champion.

I have no idea is the guys like Perry but he definitely is intense when he is coaching matches. He looks like a maniac out there haha.

Why is the program beyond rehabilitation? Oklahoma is still a solid wrestling state so you have in state guys to pull from. Texas, Missouri & Colorado high school wrestling keep improving. OK State is one of the few programs that gets a fairly mild winter. The legacy of excellence within the program is well established. GIA is one of the better attended arenas in college wrestling. The program is still pulling in top tier recruits.
  5. The combination of strength and hips from Randy Lewis must have been insane. He did stuff that should not work in JV matches against Olympians.
  6. Right now the 3rd place finisher can outscore the champion in a tournament format. I believe the proposed rule change would take this out of the equation. For instance, Hendrickson outscored a couple of champions this year due to his pins.
  7. Watched McCade coach at the Big 12 tourney this year. That guy makes Mark Manning look tame.
  8. 141 - Randy Lewis vs Jim Gibbons (Dual Meet
  9. I don’t know about that. He looked like a full sized 133 this year. He bulked up.
  10. Wouldn't make much sense with Raugusin there though...
  11. Guys should watch David Carr & KOT if they want to learn how to win & lose with class and humility.
  12. We all know that Askren jumped levels his last two years and was great. His dismantling of Jake Herbert was a work of art. Both Askren and Ruth were better folkstyle wrestlers than freestyle. Ruth did not only lose to DT in freestyle, he lost to Clayton Foster, Keith Gavin, Jake Herbert..
  13. I believe that he graduated and is looking for a grad school. Come to Brookings Chris! Coach Hahn can develop guys with the best in the country. Brand new training facility that is top 5 in the country.
  14. If we are talking about these guys at their apex here are a few more that should be considered: John Smith (wrestled 134 in college so would slot into the 141 spot currently), Tom Brands (wrestled 134 in college so would slot into the 141 spot currently), Dan Gable (wrestled 137 so would slot into the 141 or 149 spot)
  15. Chris Cannon in the portal
  16. If you are gonna put Dake at 141 might as well put DT at 165
  17. McKee ain’t in the picture boss man. Unless he wears West Virginia warmups nowadays…
  18. The Hodge trophy is an award that encapsulates Dan Hodges wrestling prowess and character. It makes sense that the award would have some of the "intangible" traits that Hodge had. If a wrestler wants to win the Hodge trophy, they just need to look up the criteria before the season.
  19. Izzak will have 1 year left, correct?
  20. Isn't that Labriola?
  21. 1. Brooks 2. Starrocci 3. O'Toole 4. Vito 5. Carr 6. Alirez 7. Fix 8. Mekhi 9. Kerkvliet 10. Sasso
  22. He did not wrestle at Big 12's
  23. Maybe the most impressive performance dismantling Fix & RBY but definitely not the best NCAA wrestler of the last 10 years when the field contains Kyle Snyder, Dake, DT, Cox, etc.
  24. Congrats to Mason. Hoping he can catch fire internationally and become the US rep. His win over Zare showed the upside he is capable of.
  25. Sammy Sasso deserves to be mentioned. Guy has been tough as nails for years going 2-5-2 at NCAA's.
