Yep. It would be clownish if I said that Max Dean was a terrible wrestler - which I did not say and do not think. He’s a great wrestler that happened to benefit greatly from two calls in two separate matches that went his way. I’m not asking him to return his medal, just think that is relevant information to assess his “underperformance” this year.
-
In honor of Jimmy, guys that were overrated: John Smith, Jordan Burroughs, Cael Sanderson, Dan Gable
-
Nope. I think Max Dean is an excellent wrestler and a couple hammer on top. He is very talented and has won a ton of high level matches. At NCAA’s last year he was gifted calls in both those matches.
-
Well that’s just silly.
-
Tread lightly…
-
Luck ran out. He was gifted two matches (DePrez and Aiello) at NCAA’s last year.

Can you predict your favorite team's lineup for next season?
Gus replied to flyingcement's topic in College Wrestling
I think he’s just wrestling fat and happy right now and we see him as a 184 in college. Could be wrong though. -
Labriola has a great leg pass
-
Schlatter’s duck was nasty. When you are the USA GOAT like John smith you are just going to naturally own a couple goat categories.
-
Would probably fit more accurately in the “someone is going to their back” category. He did a lot of pinning, I don’t think he was pinned much at all if ever.

Randy Lewis

I would expect Garvin to win that 165 spot. He’s a hammer. -
Gotta be an Okie state guy for the duck under. I’d go John smith for low single and duck under

You are probably correct. I just can’t see him changing weight classes after the success that he had this year at 197. -
Can you predict your favorite team's lineup for next season?
Gus replied to flyingcement's topic in College Wrestling
I don’t think so. If he started bulking today you would only see him around 230 max by season time and that would be 30+ pounds less than guys like Kerk / Cass / Wyatt. -
Unfortunately John Wilkes Booth

Hoping we can add a couple more Tanners before the season starts. -

Heck, maybe Levi wrestles 285? Might even have a decent pull to make it to 285 by the time he's a 7th year senior.

Low Single Goat - John Smith Blast Double Goat - JB Ankle Pick Goat - Cael Escape Goat - Phil Keddy

Tanner Cook deserves a mention for his Gator Bacon

Here is a match with Mirsola for reference. He gives up a few takedowns but hits the lat whip over to pin Mirsola. https://www.flowrestling.org/people/7009650-ryder-rogotzke/video?playing=10198083
