  1. Just going through Wrestlestat in regards to PAC-12. There is 1 per weight at 141, 149, 157, 184, & HWT. The weight class that seems strange to not have at least 2 AQ's is 149. The rest of the weights make sense at only have one based on the quality of conference at the weight. 141 - PAC-12 has 1 guy in top 33 Vasquez ASU at #23 149 - PAC-12 has 3 guys in top 33 Parco ASU #5, Abas Stanford #16, Demas Cal Poly #17 157 - PAC-12 has 1 guy Cardenas Stanford #7 184 - PAC-12 has 2 guys Munoz Oregon St #6, Montalovo ASU #25 HWT - PAC-12 has 2 guys Shultz ASU #6, Tinker Cal Poly #30
  2. It is certainly a factor. Mizzou presumably added 9 spots this year. In 2021 I believe the number of allocations was 45 for Big 12 nationals.
  3. Big 12 has increased their allocations by almost 50% since 2021.
  4. FWIW Flo's projections have it 1- RBY 2- Mendez 3- Byrd 4- Raugusin 5- Cannon 6- Heilmann 7- Teske 8- Nagao 9- Foley 10- LaMont 11- Porter 12- Burwikk 13 - Norris 14- Sandoval
  5. I would think Mendez is the 2 seed by virtue of the H2H win over Byrd and Raugsin is the 5 seed. Not really sure how Teske, Heilmann, Nagao shake out.
  6. It would definitely speed things up but we would still see coaches throw a "lung brick" occasionally. A combo of risk/reward (1 point for lost challenge, opponent gets to select position like after injury time, etc) and shot-clock would surely reduce the amount of challenges and make the sport more watchable.
  7. The crazy part to me is that Reader stays with Bono. By all accounts Reader is a stand up guy.
  8. Josh Otto is at Wisconsin.

149 is a deep weight class. I just haven’t seen enough from SVN to think he’s going to push for a podium spot.
  10. I don't think Fix has sat out any duals this year.
  11. 61kg??
  12. 125 - Spencer Lee 133 - RBY 141 - Real Woods 149 - Yianni 157 - AOC 165 - O'Toole 174 - Starrocci 184 - Brooks 197 - Tanner Sloan HWT - Greg Kerkvliet
  13. Tell that to Dylan Ness or Tanner Cook.
  14. I forgot Robb was a junior. Title contender next year with Robb and Haines.
  15. Teemer looked like he fit into 157 really well last season from a size standpoint. I see no benefit of taking a title contender with Robb & Haines next year and moving him up to 165 to battle Carr, O'Toole, Griffith, etc.
  16. I think they will be looking to the portal to fill 165 again next year.
  17. Teemer is not very long limbed. He would probably be a favorite at 157 next year. No reason to send him up into the gauntlet of 165 IMO.
  18. Close wins still count as wins. Courtney has the career wins to back it up but his best win this season is over Brandon Kaylor. The win over Ramos is the most impressive win of the season.
  19. 197 will be a mess to seed. Dean will be the 1 seed but 2-9 could shake out so many different ways. Allred has beaten Foy, Amos, Braunagel and Hoffman but lost to Warner. Braunagel has beaten Warner, Foy, Amos, Hoffman but lost to Allred, Smith and Caffey. Warner has beaten Allred but lost to Foy and Braunagel. Caffey has beaten Braunagel and Foy but lost to Hoffman. Hoffman has beaten Caffey but lost to Allred and Braunagel. Foy has beaten Warner but lost to Allred, Amos, Braunagel and Caffey. Amos has beaten Foy but lost to Allred and Braunagel. Smith has beaten Braunagel. I think it probably ends up: 1 - Dean 2- Allred 3 - Caffey 4- Smith 5- Braunagel 6- Warner 7- Hoffman 8- Amos 9- Foy
  20. Nelson Brands hand fighting is elite. He will be in matches with anyone because of it. Would not be surprised to see him make an AA run.
  21. Any thoughts on how 165 seeding plays out? The top 4 guys have beaten each other. I think we end up seeing 1 - Hamiti, 2- Kennedy, 3 - Amine, 4 - Facundo
  22. From on outsiders perspective Figs seems like the higher ceiling, lower floor choice. Courtney is almost sure to AA but unlikely to make a finals run again. Figs is undefeated and his win over Ramos shows that he can beat anyone (spencer withstanding) at the weight class.

  24. I was better than some and not nearly as good as others. Qualified for state all 4 years of high school and placed 3 times. Definitely put too much pressure on myself and did not wrestle as well as I could have otherwise. Won a couple state Greco championships and a freestyle championship and was a finalist at Brute Adidas Nationals twice as my career highlights.
  25. My point is that Rocky is a legit title contender and Surber beat him. There is now way he’s beating the top 6 guys at HWT.
