  1. South Dakota- Randy Lewis followed closely by Lincoln McIlravy
  2. Committing somewhere and then never attending the school or wrestling for the program is definitely not loyalty and commitment to the program lol.
  3. Sounds like a fun experience! Yes, Cook pretty much has one move - that gator bacon/elevator/cement job whatever you want to call it.
  4. Sloan has that pancake headlock that he hit today but not a mixer that I’m aware of. Clay Carlson has a mixer that he hits a lot. Tanner Cook has the gator bacon he hits all the time.
  5. I see Rocky Elam warming up like he will be wrestling.
  6. Mauller gets a takedown with about 5 seconds left to beat Swenson 4-1. 10-7 Mizzou at break
  7. They just introduced him and the backup at face offs. We will see. Hopefully!
  8. Go Jacks! Fans are still filtering in.
  9. On a single year basis, they have had seasons where they have been as good or better than Iowa or OK State. If you look over the last 15 years Iowa and OK State have consistently been at or near the top 5. OK State has had a couple of down years in the past 15 but has had 6 top 3 finishes. Iowa has had a about a dozen top 3 finishes. Mizzou had a third place finish in 2007.
  10. A big part of that is the fact that Mizzou has never been at the level of Iowa or OK State.
  11. I also cannot figure out Picko. He seems to be very athletic, stong and flexible with solid baseline positioning and technique. Then sometimes he just gets throttled by guys that are good not great. Look at his two matches to start the year against Alex Cramer as evidence. A 16-5 loss and a 7-2 win. He did start off his career as a 184 pounder and looks big at 174, so perhaps it is a tough cut and he has not figured out how to properly manage it?
  12. If he took a head coaching job somewhere he would have access to the hammers that his brother, coach Mesenbrink and the other AWA coaches are putting out. That pipeline would certainly help out. I think he would be a successful college coach as long as he could play nice with the administration on things. As a wrestling mind, he is one of the best.
  13. You need any help ridding the deer on that ranch?
  14. What you are describing is part of what the Apostle Paul calls the mystery of iniquity in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2. It is Satan's counterfeit religious system that takes the emphasis off of the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did and puts the emphasis on man and what man can do to curry favor with God through works of the flesh (which is a futile effort). Satan is the great deceiver and counterfeiter, so unfortunately most of Christendom at large is taking part in the mystery of iniquity without even realizing it. This is in stark contrast to what the Apostle Paul calls the mystery of godliness in 1 Tim chapter 3. The mystery of godliness is how that when believers are placed into the body of Christ upon trusting on the Lord Jesus Christ they are made godly by their spiritual union with Christ. It is all about Christ and what He did, not about us and what we did or could ever do on our own.
  15. His duck unders are so slick. Sometimes it looks like he is slightly surprised with just how deep he is getting on his shots.
  16. He’s really good in neutral and solid on top. He has struggled on the mat. Not sure that gets cleaned up before NCAA’s but hopefully it’s not something he struggles with his hole career.
  17. When Salazar gets on a roll, he can put a hurting on quality opponents.
  18. Man, Berge had that match! He is hitting his groove. He’s an AA threat for sure. Had the potential to place high. Plott just too savvy for him today.
  19. It was a good match. Sloan got a takedown in the first and that kind of coasted.
  20. Lugo went from being a guy ranked in the teens to a guy that was beating Sasso and favored to win a title. One win over Sorensen showed the promise that he had that was not being maximized in his training environment at the time. He became super consistent and a hammer at Iowa. His senior level results continue to show that he is a really tough competitor.
  21. I’m okay with being “that guy”. I had a lot of friends in college and high school that were big stoners. Let’s just say that smoking weed was not the only crime a lot of these guys were committing. They had a general lack of ambition for bettering themselves or society. Have you ever met a crackhead that did not start off smoking a little weed???
  22. Not really. The OP is asking if guys get better at Iowa. The other guy is arguing PSU against Iowa. If the question is PSU against Iowa then PSU is the obvious answer. They recruit, develop and win at a higher rate than any other team and it’s not really comparable. Iowa vs the rest of the field, Iowa looks pretty good. They have had the most non-PSU success of any team since Tom took the reins. They also have had many transfer make big jumps coming to Iowa. Namely Lugo and DeSanto.
  23. It’s clear when Mesenbrink and Peyton Hall are using that defense that they are putting themselves in that position purposely
  24. The Mesenbrink “break my leg defense” on a single leg is akin to the Peyton Hall defense. They put themselves in a danger position to get a restart. Red should just let it play out if they put themselves in that position.
  25. Pat Lugo got way better at Iowa.
