  1. I thought Caliendo looked small compared to David Carr (who looks big at 165 this year). Caliendo is very muscular but not tall/long limbed. I could see him slotting into 157 next year. As a senior in HS, I wrestled 189 and bumped up to wrestled heavyweight for the team a handful of time throughout the year. I started the season around 200 and by midseason was weighing in around 186 after a hard practice. After +2 pounds for Christmas I had to weigh in over 191 to wrestle heavyweight. All you have to do is drink a gallon of water on the bus ride and you can put on 8 easy pounds of water weight to wrestle up at the next weight class haha!
  2. I was off on the Pinto/Hoffman/Feldkamp order for seeding. This will be a fun weight class to watch. I am interested to see Foca up at his new weight.
  3. Yes, the guy who is 2/4/5 is 3 NCAA attempts. The guy who majored Michael Beard and has a 100% bonus rate on the year. Hilday is a very physical wrestler, hardly a "paper tiger".
  4. Idk. I just watched Hidlay win the Bill Ferrell beating a world silver medalist in the process
  5. PK had his knee scoped and had not been wrestling for some time. His conditioning was bad because he had not been able to compete. He has a good gas tank and he will get it back.
  6. I think he could have success at 157. When PK wrestled Peyton Robb at 74kg they looked very similar in size and PK pinned him. It was freestyle and a different weight class so should obviously be taken with a grain of salt but I think he could be successful at 157.
  7. That sounds about right currently. I expect Ech, Swiderski and Chittum to continue to improve their seed throughout the year. 141 has 6 returning AA's (Woods, Bartlett, McNeil, Mendez, Hardy, Carlson), 5 of which I think are highly likely to place again (my guy Carlson being the toss up). 149 has 4 guys that are really tough and I would be surprised to see them finish off the podium (Lovett, SVN, Henson, Parco), 3 guys with solid track records of success (Lamer, Arrington, D'Emilio) and then it is wide open. 157 has Haines and Robb atop (perhaps Shapiro can find himself in this tier as the season progresses) and then a a lot of parity among the next group of 12 guys. By years end I think Ech ends up around #10 ranking, Swiderski around #6 and Chittum around #9. However, I also think that Evan Frost probably drops down a few spots as the season goes on. Time will tell.
  8. I have Carr as a lock, Bastida as a highly likely and then I just need one of Terukina, Ech, Swiderski, Chittum or Feldcamp.
  9. I’ll take the over on Iowa State 2.6 AA’s
  10. Gabe wrestled Greta against Feldkamp and came up clutch but he looked undersized. Wrestle him at 174 (his ideal weight) or redshirt him is my opinion.
  11. No takedown
  12. I think he was banged up off and on throughout the year. People also said that the cut was too much last year. He wrestled 152 in HS
  13. Then again the first stall call was kind of bogus so whatever
  14. Wow why did they not challenge that
  15. Wow! Did not see that coming
  16. 100%
  17. What Aaron Brooks did was what we call negative recruiting. He made a point about joining team Jesus by putting down team Mohammed. When Jesus says “No one cometh to the Father, but through me” it is already implied that no one can come to the Father through anyone else (Muhammad or other). There are many excellent reasons to be on team Jesus (I’d encourage y’all to join if you are not already) and those should have been focused on rather than negative recruiting against team Muhammad. If he had done that, no one would be saying anything about him. To put in wrestling context, Cael shouldnt need to put down Rutgers to get guys to come to PSU. He can just explain the benefits of being a Nit and that will do the talking.
  18. Is Italian a minority? Also add Chris Pendleton, Obe Blanc, Angel Escobedo
  19. And what minority is John smith?
  20. What minority is bono?
  21. They have put a few other into D1 from looking at there website including a few that went to Sacred Heart. Novacs (NCSt) is a Danbury kid also.
  22. Is the McBryde gal that wrestled Deedee kin to Muhamed McBryde - former Buffalo wrestler, current coach at West Virginia?
  23. A good place to start for Sacred Heart would be recruiting Danbury, CT and Ponaganset, RI very hard and trying to establish a pipeline to the local talent.
  24. Tom and Terry.
