  1. From on outsiders perspective Figs seems like the higher ceiling, lower floor choice. Courtney is almost sure to AA but unlikely to make a finals run again. Figs is undefeated and his win over Ramos shows that he can beat anyone (spencer withstanding) at the weight class.

  3. I was better than some and not nearly as good as others. Qualified for state all 4 years of high school and placed 3 times. Definitely put too much pressure on myself and did not wrestle as well as I could have otherwise. Won a couple state Greco championships and a freestyle championship and was a finalist at Brute Adidas Nationals twice as my career highlights.
  4. My point is that Rocky is a legit title contender and Surber beat him. There is now way he’s beating the top 6 guys at HWT.
  5. Put the refs on a shot clock and give them 45 seconds to make the call.
  6. Sloan also has a win over Surber so I think he would be the 1 seed. He is the only guy undefeated in conference.
  7. He was a 1-2 guy at NCAA's last year. I think there are 6 pretty good bets to AA at HWT & Surber would struggle with all of them: Parris, Kerk, Cass, Davison, Hendrickson, Shultz. That leaves 2 spots left where he would be fighting with the rest of the HWT crowd. He could pull it off but the same thing can be said at 197 where he has a win over Rocky Elam.
  8. Delgado and Heil were cut from the same cloth. Incredibly frustrating to wrestle and cheer against but they were operating within the set of rules at the time.
  9. It would be nice if there was a risk/reward scenario for the challenge. Whether it is a point, opponents choice of position or something else it would certainly make coaches be more selective with the brick toss.
  10. The fan exhilaration of watching your favorite team dive into the end zone, seeing the ref signal touchdown and going crazy has been replaced by a subtle cheer, arm fold/fingernail chew, and wait for the refs to head to the review monitor. It does not make for a better product IMO. It takes away the spontaneous nature of sports that fans love.
  11. Micky Phillipi, Michael McGee, Rayvon Foley, Jonathan Millner Yianni, Austin O'Connor, Mikey Labriola, Demetrius Romero, Max Dean, Cam Caffey, Mason Parris are over 100 career wins Ethan Smith, Hunter Bolen, Marcus Coleman could get 100 this year Others with a chance next year: Daton Fix, Clay Carlson, Andrew Alirez, Sammy Sasso, Peyton Robb, Jared Franek, Kendall Coleman, Shane Griffith, David Carr, Izzy Olejnik, Mekhi Lewis, Peyton Mocco, Travis Wittlake, Tanner Sloan
  12. Cael Sanderson, Tom Brands, Tom Ryan, John Smith... who is the 5th?
  13. I would be okay with replay going away in all sports.
  14. Especially when the unorthodox crafty wrestler uses those skills to win NCAA & jr world titles.
  15. Carr looks like a big 165 at this point in the season. His length presented a lot of challenges for KOT.
  16. Is there a history of KOT or Carr ducking any top tier opponents? Both guys seems like warriors that are supremely confident in their abilities. I cannot imagine being as good as Carr or KOT (NCAA Champions & Jr World Champions) and wanting to sit out against the best guys. I don't think that KOT or Carr are wired that way. They both seem very humble, grounded and find their identity in their faith - not winning or losing.
  17. And does it really matter as long as they don't drop to the 4 seed?
  18. I also missed Brandon Courtney.
  19. Bad take, IMO.
  20. I would add in Vito, Labriola, Keckheisen, Rocky Elam, Kerkvliet and Cassiopi based on their previous NCAA results.
  21. add Shane Griffith to the list as well.
  22. I county 19 great tournament guys by your criteria above Spencer Lee, Pat Glory, RBY, Daton Fix, Yianni, Sammy Sasso, Austin O'Connor, Keegan O'Toole, David Carr, Quincy Monday, Carter Starocci, Mekhi Lewis, Aaron Brooks, Trent Hidlay, Max Dean, Jacob Warner, Nino, Mason Parris, Cohlton Shultz
  23. I’d go in this order Spencer, Brooks, RBY, Yianni, Starocci, O’Toole, Austin O’Connor, Real Woods, Mason Parris, hopefully my guy Tanner Sloan I feel pretty confident about the first 5, not as much about the last five
  24. Surtin with an over the top celebration after his pin gets deducted a team point?
  25. Word on the street is that Terry Brands is attempting to get Assad expelled from Iowa for getting pinned at Wisconsin.
