  1. Keegan could not sit the corner on levi because levi was able to elevate him. Thats a position where Keegan sort of dominated Carr. Carr wrestled Levi primarily from space which hes able to do because hes so fast and slick. I dont know that Keegan can do that and effectively get to levis legs. I thought the match was not super competitive in favor of Keegan before this but now Im leaning levi I do not think folk makes a ton of difference. Keegan does make adjustments as well as anyone so I would say that is the x factor but as of now I have it 55:45 levi.
  2. Not at all, it is the only fanbase I've seen actively boo and cheer against the greatest athlete in our sport however I was more so replying to your remark about a few looney tunes implying he was overreacting to a few outliers when it was a large part of a very full arena.
  3. he got boo'd out of the arena the one heckler was the worst obviously, but it takes more than a few people to deafen an arena with boo's.
  4. they don't break position, seem to have very very explosive athlete's and transition from takedown to turn better than anyone in the world. Pretty good recipe for success. It's unfortunate that nishuichi and Ono will probably be the same weight for their careers, because I think they are the two best young guys in the world aside from Blaze right now.
  5. Grounding is the only thing that needs to get ironed out. About as frequently do I see the better guy get laced to a tech at a high level as I see someone get caught and stuck in folk. I think with grounding an easy fix would be first time is an attention second is caution and 1 although I personally think grounding is a big part of the style and it's kind of interesting to watch guys who have mastered it, but I know it can be annoying to watch.
  6. certainly not hopeless Vito should be the on paper favorite but ill take Ono.
  7. In terms of partners in the room I think Cornell, PSU, Ohio State make the most sense. the guys you mentioned at Cornell Nick lee, Zain, BB at PSU, Jesse and Davino at Ohio State. Okie state has Fix,Gillman,Roman but I think blaze grows into a 65kg 141/149 in college and at his current level I don't know that those guys give him super competitive rolls in a year or two just by the nature of his improvement and them being smaller. I'm personally pulling for anyone but PSU because if they get him Luke and PJ there is no team race for another 4-5 years again and team races are fun.
  8. Feel good about everyone on our mens team bringing home a medal. If Ghasempour and Sadulaev go at 92 that will obviously be a brutal field but I think DT looked great. Blaze is obviously the main talking point for guys that did not win but I was also super impressed with Duke and Forrest as usual. Levi also looked really really good that shot he pulled in on Keegan was insane. Guys that were a bit disappointing for me were Keegan and Mirasola. Keegan probably should have teched Carr that rear standing stalemate was insane but from there he did not score another point in the tournament. I thought Mirasola was really going to push to be a top 5ish guy here and he just was not. would have liked to see Cardenas go through the entire backside he killed everyone outside of the Jacques match.
  9. Because its easier than saying their fanbase was classless at OTT's
  10. JB is 36
  11. should have hit green with attention again imo. I prefer him as our rep though in terms of medal odds.
  12. He scored enough to beat 3 senior world team members in a row who made a combined 9 NCAA's finals while being significantly smaller than all of them and limiting Vito to a push out. I think he will be just fine.
  13. Could just be a bit of burnout not making me think any less of him long term, but does the past two weekends make anyone pump the breaks on Mirasola being the guy to start at 197?
  14. In the case of Facundo just because he may never be able to wrestle otherwise. I agree though Ryder could AA this year and you would think will only get better but I don't know that he can make the lineup at 184 if Barr is there after this year will be interesting to see if some of the guys transfer out or just stay there to improve for their freestyle careers.
  15. Haines looked super strong against KOT but Keegan allowed it to be a lot of hand fighting where Carr did not really. It was enough for me to have Levi as the favorite this year seems like the size will not be an issue will be interesting to see if he red shirts it may be harder to convince him after this tournament.
  16. Predictions for semis: Blaze beats Nashon Desanto beats fix Duke beats Pantaleo Green beats JO I was picking KOT to win the entire thing but chance looks awesome going chance Ringer over JB (I hope I am wrong) Dt over Mike mach Hidlay over Aiello Challenge tournament finals winners: Desanto over Blaze DT over Trent
  17. Sinclair appears to still have Mirasolas number.
  18. Chance,JO,Forrest probably the most impressive r1's to me given their opponents
  19. Per Basch and Willie David told the team a few weeks ago he was doing this. I assume its been on his mind for at least a month or longer.
  20. We could in fact get DT vs Sadulaev... what a time to be alive.
  21. The Radamacher win has aged like fine wine other than the brooks loss that may stand out the most to me. Obviously, dean is more accomplished but hard to say how hard he was training. I think he probably falls right behind Aiello and mike mach in the pecking order for me.
  22. I'm excited to see what connor can do, Levi does not move the needle a ton for me but its exciting to get a sneak peek of him at 174.
  23. Hes from Johnstown PA I know when he was in middle school he trained with their 125 at the time a lot. Probably feels like its bringing recognition to the program.
  24. I like Gaitan a lot at 165 I may put too much weight into that super 32 win over haines but I always have high expectations
  25. Feels like both Blaze and Forrest can make the semis with those draws. I know Jax and desanto have wrestled but Desantos style could play right into jax's game. Desanto could just straight overpower him. I think Blaze beats gross. Sign me up for an early round Larkin vs Duke Very bad draw for PD3 Seems like a great spot for JO
