  1. I think Yousefi and Rezai can both be very good. Rezai has been relatively competitive with Messenbrink and Shaprio and beat Lockett all 3 of which I see being contenders for the US in 2028. Yousefi's win over gamerkelidze was very impressive.
  2. Azarpira is not the rep for Asian champs?
  3. psu opened at -18.5 wish I got it there I have them at -20.5 and Minn -3.5
  4. I think there is a pretty decent push right now for athletes to train strictly at the top range of movement for explosivity. I can see some benefit to it because you get no recoil although that can be mitigated by pausing at the bottom, but you risk more load to the joint then. To each their own I suppose not my cup of tea, but neither is complaining in a comment section about someone not using full ROM.
  5. I know he won Beast and he beat Marinelli at super 32 in 14 I believe I was like 13 though so my memory may not be accurate.
  6. Its so hard to know what they account for. I am a firm believer conference rankings should be solely predicated on conference results. But then I see people arguing Kerk over Gable because he won it more recently even though they will have the same in conference record but kerk will have a 50% bonus rate vs Gables 100%. I also do not like bonus for ranking or seeding criteria but when you are looking at two guys with the same resume to me it would be the tiebreaker. So, looking at those 3 guys they all have beaten each other so the tiebreaker to me would be winning pct which removes Ridge and then it would be h2h which would put SVN at the 1.
  7. I understand the sentiment I think Lovett having 2 losses even though one is 2 henson just dings him the slightest bit to where he ends up 3.
  8. Fox Baldwin deserves a shout 395 career wins albeit in Florida I don't believe he lost once he hit 9th grade.
  9. As to the Gable vs Iranian big 2 convo, I think Gable would beat Zare. Watching Geno get to his legs I think gable would have no issue doing so. He is also about 30lbs heavier than he was in 2021 which I think will allow him to hold center better than he would have previously. As for Masoumi I am not as confident simply because I think I have seen one person ever touch his legs and it was Mason like 1.5 years ago.
  10. Health issue I think or personal Bach eluded to an issue but did not go into details. He does think he is going up to 97kg though.
  11. Really hoping this allows them to at least compete with Pitt and maybe lehigh for in state recruits. They do a great job developing.
  12. I know Rocco said he was staying at ohio state but there was a ton of smoke at the time that he was leaving I have to wonder if he gets some offers pitched this off season especially with how good he looked in Croatia.
  13. I would be really shocked if we do not see Duke for two years. I honestly feel like if he goes that route we may just not see him in college. In 2 years, we would be 1 year out from the Olympics and by that time I think he could realistically be a top 5 guy at 74kg (Carr,Mitchell,Lockett,Shaprio,Duke?). He also has a pretty extensive injury history so essentially 6 years of college may not appeal to him or be good for him. He's a guy you keep at all costs so I would look at maybe a Messenbrink bump to 174 and just a single red shirt for duke, Levi would be gone at that point and despite Messenbrink being small for 174 I think he would likely still kill everyone. After NCAA's this year I think will be very telling, Im sure all these guys have the mindset they are the best or will be the best, but the reality of the situation has to set in at some point. Another thing I point to that makes me think we do not see a greyshirt is that this logjam was apparent prior to the season, and they still have Sealey on the roster. To me he would have been a prime candidate to grey shirt.
  14. Pyles seems to think he will suck down to 125 next year.
  15. He usually has pretty much infallible baseline defense. Vombaur was getting to that single really easily was pretty shocking to see.
  16. Was the Vombaur match an outlier or is Mendez vulnerable to Bartlett in this one? I tend to look at it as an outlier match and that Vombaur is just a guy that keeps getting better but certainly not the best Jesse we have seen.
  17. Luke finishes fast which is bad news for McCrone because his neutral offense is predicated on counter points from prolonged scrambles. If he can extend Lukes's leg attacks though he is really tricky. Most likely outcome is Luke snags one or two takedowns in the first and does not even have to go under Mccrone unless McCrone picks top. I would just like to see him tested underneath.
  18. off the top of my head Ventresca Renteria Meza Flynn Peterson He definitely has times where he's looking for turns and times where he is going cross body looking to ride. I think a lot of those matches where he goes top and just rides out for the loss though part of the issue is the guys on bottom just trying to not give up stalls rather than actually trying to get away.
  19. I'm actually very interested in the 125lb match. I expect Luke to win but McCrone is an absolute menace on top and I saw Luke get turned in high school last year.
  20. If we are just throwing out best wrestlers in totality, I think Blaze and Lilledahl deserve shouts Blaze 190-2 as of now never given up a takedown in season. OTT 3rd, WTT 2nd, 2x ironman champ, Cadet gold, Junior bronze. Lilledahl something and 3 2x ironman champ, 4x age level finalist 2x gold 2x silver, 2x super 32 champ in two attempts As for just in school season goes Aaron seidel is 193-3 3x state champ the PA wins record is 199 he has sectionals, districs, regionals, states left so he likely sets a new record that may be untouchable. the previous record held by Zack kemerer has stood for 18 years.
  21. Pico has to be up there to me. I believe his only loss was to Heil as a freshman at super 32 I think he had graduated when he was a match from making the olympic team and beat Humphry and JO. He did have two series wins over Zain though while still in high school I believe and two junior medals at the toughest weight generally.
  22. Connor mirasola: If Barr goes 184 he slots in at 197 but then Ryder does not have a spot next year and unless he can get down to 174 in 2 year maybe never? Zack Ryder: See above. Joe Sealey: Do not see how he fits in next year and then you have PJ duke coming in who I see as a 165 so does Sealey try to get up to 174? Seems like he may be small for that weight and you will have Henckel and Cunningham looming. I think all of these guys are in a place where they are almost certainly going to lose a year if not more I really wonder if they choose to stick it out or go somewhere else. Obviously its not really a hit for PSU because they will be putting their best guys out there its just an embarrassment of riches but could it help other teams get closer. Also if Connor were to leave would Cole go with him or would they split up? I lean that they all stay PSU just does not really lose guys but it's a bit crazy to think guys of this caliber may only have 2-3 years in the lineup.
  23. Hope it was more precautionary, and Kasak is good to go. Head injuries are always scary but would hate for him to be limited going into big 10's.
  24. Ed Scott has never wrestled less than 157lbs in college I think that’s what he was getting at blaze beat markel baker,Forrest,Ramos maybe Cael nasdeo if my memory serves me right. blaze I think is the best high school wrestler ever to date maybe aside from pico? His peers have done as impressive things as his clarion open run though Blaze himself has done more impressive things since then.
  25. no his birthdays in August hes 19 uww age if he was born in January he would still be 18 on their website I believe he confirmed his birthday was August 4th 2006.
