  1. It beats the alternative of trying to cut all the way down to 74? Zahid came in under for 86 and wayyy under for 92 so he probably thinks he could pull it off as well. Of course the real solution is 10 weights at the olympics but that's not happening for 2024.
  2. Just saw Anthony Valencia has beefed up to 86kg for the Pan Ams OG qualifier the week after Pan Ams champs. There are four realistic hopefuls in that bracket so he needs to win at least one big match, probably two. Key competition will be Torreblanco and Ramos while Izquierdo and Ceballos are definite threats for one of the two spots.
  3. Sad looked bad but Taz looked badddddd. We may have very well witnessed the introduction of the newest member of the all-timers club. We find out in 6 months and while I will never doubt Snyder for a moment, it feels very much like when Snyder burst onto the world scene like gangbusters in 2015. Oddly enough, I think Cox's style would give Taz a run for his money but I doubt we ever see that match.
  4. The committee will not do the right thing if there is a blemish on someone's record. Refer back to Steveson's freshman year when he obliterated White but still had to face Cassar in the semis for the real national championship match. That is because Cassar dropped a tight very early season loss to White, then beat Steveson at B1Gs. Everyone knew it was a crock and should not have happened on Friday night.
  5. Wisconsin produces AAs regularly. Purdon't just had their first AA in like thirty years in 2023 and should be glad to be considered Tier 4. If anything, they should swap with Northwestern who regularly produces AAs and the occasional champion.
  6. The record books won't look back on this bracket as fondly as deserved. A junior world champ is guaranteed to do no better than third place despite being head and shoulders above the competition. A previous NCAA champion is guaranteed to lose. And these three may repeat this tournament multiple times for the next decade battling for world and olympic team spots.
  7. If an athlete has represented one country on the international stage, the rule is that competitor must wait three years before they can represent another country at the Olympics. However, the three year waiting period can be reduced or eliminated if all the involved National Olympic Committees and the relevant international sporting federation are in agreement. Very rarely do you see an example of the first country which was defected agreeing to a waiver for the athlete to join the second country. https://olympics.com/ioc/faq/competing-and-being-part-of-the-games/can-i-compete-for-another-team-than-my-nationality
  8. 7 million pages about Spencer Lee's knees and yet none of you cowards will talk about how Daton Fix and Taylor Swift should be the _greatest_silver_medalists ever!
  9. Jason Kelce will only appear in Labatt Blue commercials. They owe him $600k according to the internet. And as all Swifties know the internet never lies. Never, ever, ever!
  10. My dynamics drills prove my #Swiftyness
  11. Hater in the building! I was super pumped when I cashed in my bet for Taylor Kelce to score the first touchdown at +950 and when she broke Jerry Rice's all time postseason receptions record that's when I knew Travis Swift was the GOAT of all tight ends
  12. America's nightmare is over. Taylor Swift put the Kansas City Chiefs on her back and dragged them to the Super Bowl in two weeks. And to think the NFL had the *AUDACITY* to tell her that *SHE* had to pay *THEM* for a Super Bowl appearance, as if!!! #swifty

  14. Someone didn't like being asked to volunteer how to show the 3rd graders how to do a left-handed layup line yeeeesh
  15. Death to the NCAA, even though it almost certainly means death to all olympic sports *as we know them in the US
  16. I'm really digging the new basketball vibes 'round here
  17. You can add up the quantity of bets quickly and not interested in playing blackjack. Let's say I like to watch the NFL on Sundays and there are 7 games I want to bet on. 7 games X 1 bet = 7 singeles bets Now I want to parlay those bets. 1 parlay x 1 bet = 1 parlay bet Aw shucks, I want to hedge so I'm going to do a full round robin where it's packages of all parlay combinations of two game (21x), three game (35x), four game (35x), five game (21x) and six game (7x) bets. 7 singles bets + 1 parlay bet + 119 round robin bets= 127 total bets FYI, seven games would be less than half of a full NFL weekly slate (16 games). If you bet something marginal like 50 cents to $1 per bet, you're statistically not going to go up big or down a lot throughout the course of the season even as a broke college kid. So you keep betting every week because it's fun and you're only up/down net $10 bucks for the season. 17 weeks of the NFL regular season multiplied by 127 bets per week (see above example) = 2,159 total bets before the playoffs. Should student athletes be betting on their own sport or their own school? No. Should pro athletes bet on their own sport? No. Do the pro leagues and NCAA taking that sweet, sweet legal gambling money have anyone to blame but themselves? No.
  18. This is why I'm doing it. If it takes another 32 years I may not be around.
  19. Suriano when he sees Lee, RBY, and a scale
  20. Awesome for everyone to get reps but there is a -174% chance we see Dake lol
  21. I don't know his wrestling status but a quick creep on his instagram confirms he is the first Purdue undergrad in at least two decades to make contact with a girl
  22. I just assumed redshirt given his high school pedigree and being an NQ last year. Makes sense though
