  1. Zane Richards 2023 57kg 2023 Senior Worlds 2011 58kg cadet worlds 2012 132 lb junior Fargo 2nd (lost two periods to zero to fellow 2023 world team member Zain Retherford 1-1, 1-1)
  2. He's fine at 174. He won't be fine at 74 if he can even make it, He does realize it's scratch Day 1 and Day 2 and he has to actually perform after making weight, right?
  3. JB's eight senior domestic losses in chronological order: Marable (2014 Yassar Dogu) Dake (2017 OTT) IMar (2019 Final X) Taylor (2021 exhibition at 86) Dake (2x 2020 OTT) Marstellar (2x 2023 Final X)
  4. That line is Dake's twitter profile picture but I think he added the Dark Brandon eyes for dramatic effect. Personally I would have gone something of the Shang Tsung soul-snatching variety.
  5. Let the court records show that I called both my shots same as I picked Zane, Lee, and Chance 2023 and won the 2019 Final X confidence pool.
  6. 57 Spencer. This is it. This is the hill I'm tearing my ACLs on. 65 Yianni. Beats Lee day 1, McKenna the bridesmaid once again Day 2 74 Dake. Nolf over JB day 1 86 Taylor. Zahid over Brooks day 1 97 Snyder. Cox over Moore day 1. 125 Parris (unless Gable decides to show up and hustle freestyle fans again). Hendrickson over Kerk day 1
  7. He might as well give 125 a go because he can't make 86 and he can't show up for 97. Might as well take the weight gain seriously.
  8. If JB doesn't like it he is welcome to move to a different weight or wrestle for a different country. That's what his foes have done.
  9. Don't punish Snyder for showing up to tournaments other than worlds unless you want to hold equal weight for Taylor and Yazdani for not competing. Bruce took many losses yet many hold him as the best because of duration. Smith took losses *during* tournaments he won yet many revere him as the best. Burroughs didn't medal in '16, took a few domestic losses, and didn't make the team in '20ne or 23 yet he is considered the top American. It's all subjective and there is no right answer, only 9 months of banter until Paris
  10. Perfectly stated. 4 all-timers and not everyone can win.
  11. (ps the full list is in the replies if you want to see just one year of decades dominance by a *PUBLIC* kids club)
  12. found Deepak Punia's burner
  13. All this slander against Illinois boy and leader of the Chicago Galaxy Wrestling Club, our 57kg world champion, Steven Micic needs to stop immediately. You really think that 32 other wrestlers plus their coaches plus UWW staff would let him not be on weight? If you honestly think that then you should also be adding to Willie's 9/11 conspiracy thread. And Richards is going to beat Gilman. Again. Illinois rules.
  14. When is the last time RBY made 125? When is the last time Cruz beat anyone on the US ladder? Threats? Sure, they are much more game than Destribats last time around. But concerned? No.
  15. I don't know what his diet is but I learned over the weekend that he gives plenty of people sour grapes
  16. I said it yesterday - we likely just witnessed the changing of the guard yesterday. Just as quick as Sadulaev and Snyder stormed the world at a young age laying waste to everyone in their path, Tazhudinov either had the tourney of his life or is following the same script.
  17. I am not worried about qualifying 57 through Pan Ams. I am very worried about not qualifying 65 again. I hope Vito and Fix slowly descend throughout the season and wish they weren't wasting their time with folk in all honesty. From a strategic perspective, it would make the most sense for no one to challenge Richards so that he has to make weight + the others have to make it one time less. But we all know Gilman is going to Gilman as all little Napoleons do and therefore submitted his challenge bid the moment the process was released. I think Retherford is boned either way. He is a 70kg world champ and has fully grown into the weight as a true tweener and in an alternate world that is the Oly weight so guys like Lee, Yianni, and Dake are the tweeners. He would be like Green sucking down to 65 and methinks he gets beat up by Dake anytime they wrestle. Six weight classes is such a travesty. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a different 65 rep for Pan Ams and Paris. But I do hope it is Johnny because IMO he is the best international bet even though the domestic landscape is full parity.
  18. Last Chance is going to be particularly nasty next year. Absolute dog fight at every weight.
  19. Uguev and either Snyder or Saulaev wrestling for *true fifth hurts my brain. Worlds brackets are bonkers.
  20. Illinois trained though by Harvey Twisters
  21. Neither is Otoguro. Yet here we are...
  22. Sometimes you just need to open the second bottle of champaign and see where the road goes. Some roads lead to Hersey, PA...
  23. If he doesn't want AINal then it's off the table
  24. It was more tongue in cheek because he's not going back AINal/ROC/Russia anytime soon given the political climate. He would have to sit out, at most, one worlds tournament but that is unlikely in the UWW digital age. Olympics is usually two years so if the paperwork starts by Dec. 31, 2025 then he could go back.
  25. Snyder will be fine but the world is going to be looking up. Bahrain is going to be less one citizen very soon.
