  1. He was 19 for worlds, 20 for Olympics. Youngest in US history for both.
  2. Hendrickson done. Sharipov by pinfall.
  3. Forrest will wrestle for a medal at least WOW!
  4. Logically Kadiev on age alone but we have another medal match in a few hours for him + 3 years. That's a lot...
  5. I was wrong @nhs67 and honestly Kadiev should have won that match. Shocked by the challenge imo
  6. Zahid done in :30 guaranteed a medal match. On to Mat B
  7. If it makes everything better and I disagreeingly say that Wyatt beat Kerk outstandingly will that make it better that he went 0-1 today and has lots of holes in his freestyle game even though I think he has some of the best technique? Is that the point? Or are we just complaining to kill time?
  8. And Keuter had a good takedown in that match. That said, Moussami was wrestling with one hand and the general consensus is that he is top 5 in the world at lowest today. Possible they meet at again one day if Keuter heals up, sticks with wrestling, and takes The Leap.
  9. Down goes Kadzi. Daulebekov with 8 straight in the 2nd
  10. Yes I was watching tournament he won when he popped it.
  11. Did you watch the match? Kerk had literally just torn his ACL. Twas not an impressive dub. Unlike the win by Jax!
  12. The same Russian who beat him today is the one he beat in the gold medal match. But no Moussami correct. Would have been bad. Where have you been? Hendrickson has an all time win no doubt, but he was teched by Kerk at the all star, skirted by a torn ACL Kerk, Gable fat, the Hillger match (like 8th in the NCAA depth chart) picked him apart at Final X. This was not surprising unfortunately.
  13. Oh. Anyways.
  14. Zahid tech 1st. Looked patient.
  15. Zahid looks weird in Nike shoes
  16. If you want to see raw horsepower, watch the second period of 70kg Tumur Ochir vs Bulgaria. I love watching him wrestle so much.
  17. U20 5th. Unfortunately showed there are levels at the senior stage. Not the performance anyone expected including UWW considering they put him on the press conference stage with Zare.
  18. No. He was 7th on the ladder and not expected to move up until everyone cleared out at once (Gable retired, Parris football, Gwiz retired, Zillmer moved down, Kerk torn ACL, Bradley retired).
  19. That's loco. Worlds only has two kinds of brackets: bad draws and worse draws. Dream draws are extremely rare - too much talent and too many participants. Not quite the same as smaller olympics brackets that can be lopsided.
  20. We shall see.
  21. Less optimal, but medal match still guaranteed. And unless the cut is really that brutal Ghasempour should dispatch Kadiev by a couple takedowns. I know he's shredded but it really seems like he's just being dramatic about the cut because he hasn't had to do one in a long time.
  22. Brutal draws. We may only see 2-3 medals this year inlcuding the mercenaries. This is about as bad as it could go. 57 Lee gold 61 Jax 0-1 or 1-1, won't get pulled back 65 Seabass has a favorable draw, will need to beat Tevanyan in quarters for a medal because Kiyooka is going to go bonkers. Woods 0-1 or 1-1, 50% he gets pulled back if he can win his first match. Amouzad and Sujeet will be the fire. 70 Duke tough match off the scale 01 or 1-1. Gomez same issue. No medal. 74 Carr has a meat grinder. Hoping for a medal but 74 is always so tough. 79 Haines has a RUS expat from Sadulaev's club off the scale. 2 Asians medalist, won Yasar Dogu last year at 79. Not great! Probably pulled into repechage. Mikey Labs might win his first match, no clue if he will get pulled back. 86 Zahid meets Ghasempour in the quarters. The earlier the better, because Zahid has gas tank issues and Ghas is going to be walking around at 97 the minute weigh-ins are done. Ramos might sneak in a couple wins and be a bracket buster. Where is Amine? Is he really going all-in on the influencer career? 92 Hidlay has the best draw of anyone and has an optimal path to the semis which as long as he doesn't get upset should put him in a medal match or finals... hopefully. Honis on the other hand will likely go 0-1 and not get pulled back in. 97 Snyder has a good path to the finals as long as he doesn't trip on a landmine. 125 Hendrickson opens with the same guy he pinned at U23 worlds with a torn knee. But that match was MUCH closer than the scoreboard said as it was 11-9 with a minute to go. Second match is just as tough, then third match will be savvy old man Sharipov. If he runs that gauntlet, he is graced with Zare's presence. I think he can make it to Zare in the semis to get a bronze, but I would not be surprised by a DNP. Jovan Smith probably 0-1, might go 1-2 if he can pull off a first round upset.
  23. I don't see Nagao successfully balancing med school and wrestling next season. It's just too difficult in my opinion but god ha$ a plan.
  24. Yeah because none of us ever did that to get into a bar before turning 21
