  1. The law condemns and punishes only actions within certain definite and narrow limits; it thereby justifies, in a way, all similar actions that lie outside those limits. -Leo Tolstoy
  2. Garry Kasparov. World chess champion, Human Rights activist, author, Russian presidential candidate for the Other Russia party opposing Putin before withdrawing. Who you gonna believe, him or Tucker Carlson? Time for Scott Adams' "Which is more likely" test.
  3. Yeah. I actually wrote that about 6 years ago. I honestly could not understand the attraction of him for the middle and lower class. What would some spoiled rich brat from NYC do for them? As it turns out, not surprisingly, nothing. All of his tax breaks and economic policies focused on big corporations and rich guys, with the old "trickle down" promise. Who could have guessed? I also could not understand the attraction of him to the Religious Right. Nor the attraction of a misogynistic jackass such as him to ANY woman voter. (Somehow, my sister, an otherwise brilliant woman, is a Trump supporter because of religious beliefs.) My only explanation is that those people were/are attracted to his tough talk, like you said. I guess they think he's gonna show "them" who's boss. We aren't gonna take it anymore. They figured he was the hero we needed. (That's a #2 in my list.) Does America need to drain the swamp? Does America need a hero? Does America need an outsider? Absolutely! But it sure ain't the Orange Imbicile.
  4. Near as I can tell, Trump supporters fit in four categories: 1) The Religious Right and the gun nuts who feel they have no choice but to support whomever the Rs prop up in front of them. 2) Those who view Trump as some sort of "anti-establishment hero", kind of a Billy Jack with a spray tan and a bad haircut. Oh yeah, and bone spurs, don't forget the bone spurs. 3) Those who actually benefit from his "Big Boy Economics". This is a very, very small percentage, so 99.99% of you look to another category. 4) Just plain stupid. Note: These categories are not mutually exclusive. For the vast majority of you Trump supporters, let me explain what that means... Just because you are in one category, that doesn't preclude you from being in another. In fact, most Trump supporters would fit in at least two of these categories.
  5. I was not great at the underhook but got pretty good with the overhook. My most common practice partner in HS was brutal with the underhook, the lead-ins, and takedowns from it, so it was a matter of survival. My shoulders still hurt 55 years later, lol.
  6. As Sonny and Cher said: "And the beat goes on. " This is one reason we need to not re-elect ANY incumbent legislators. Elect 535 guys and gals who can't find their way to Washington. Poof, problem solved. Federal spending slashed.
  7. The drummer here, Shawn Pelton was the drummer at Live from Darryl's House for a while. He's a real hammer. My wife always loved the shirts he wore. Her style, classy, flashy. How she ended up with me, Mr Grey and Brown clothes we'll never know...
  8. Since we're on the subject...
  9. Bear on the right has got a few pounds on the other one. I got a stall warning on the bear on the right backing up. Then 2 pt takedown for the bear on the right. Couldn't tell about back points, the top and bottom of those bears kinda look the same, there was just a mass of bear rolling around. Right bear's coach ought to throw the brick for back points. If I was there reffing, I wouldn't be down there checking though! Man, they're quick for big boys.
  10. It always used to be the one between 6 and 8 but maybe they've moved it.
  11. War is so unjust and ugly that all who wage it must try to stifle the voice of conscience within themselves. -Leo Tolstoy Rarely do I like a cover better than the original, but I'll make an exception here. These three are incredible. My wife and I saw the bass player, Scot Sutherland, play Foggy Mountain Breakdown on the bass. He was incredible. Buckle your seat belts boys...
  12. I have an honest question, or two. Are these Trump cards the same thing that Tom Brady, and I guess others, have done? I won't ask the obvious question of why would anyone buy these (not just Trump's), because there would be no sufficient explanation for me. I will simply ask if people buy them with the thought of selling them for more in the future, or is it simply to have them and show someone them on their phone? Or is there something else here? (I guess it's probably not necessary to mention that my education and career were not in Marketing.)
  13. That's a fact, Jack! Well, at least 4 or 5 of us.
  14. You mean like an on/off button, channel selector button, and volume control (only)? I don't remember ever having to unplug the TV and plug it back in to get it to work. THOSE were the days my friend. Of course, we only had 3 channels on a clear day and couldn't talk crap to someone halfway across the country without long distance charges or them hanging up, but it did WORK (almost all the time, lol). And the reception was so bad you couldn't tell if it was Dan Gable wrestling or Willie Nelson, but it was.... Good! And you could adjust the horizontal hold if you had to and even fine tune the reception with aluminum foil.
  15. My ringtone. It'll wake you up.
  16. This has been Trump forever. It is what he does, has done, will do. He's pretty much said he likes 'em dumb. I'm reminded of a story about how I like 'em... My wife and I have gone back to the same pizza joint in my "hometown" whenever we are back in town. The pizza is NY style, thin crust and they use quite a bit of olive oil, so it kinda drips when you pick it up. Everytime I make it a point to say, "I like my pizza just like my women, thin, hot, and greasy". She always gives me the same eye roll and head shake. It's pretty much a tradition for us. She's truly a Saint!
  17. I think you could add Car Shield customers and still have the near circle. "You have the right to protect yourself from..." RC51? Very cool. I have a plain old 2015 VFR, but I also just bought a CBR-1000-RR. You know, 70 year old guys need 180 HP as much as the young guys. We don't have as long to enjoy it.
