You are correct. At this point I'd say there is no right or wrong way to built a roster. Traditional recruiting and the portal are both assets to programs but I think relying to heavily on the portal is never going to be good enough at this point to truly compete on a consistent basis. I think the best programs will still rely on recruiting the majority of the time to build their lineup while supplementing any holes with pieces from the portal. The problem I see for Iowa is that they have been the opposite over the last however many years. They are building the backbone of their team through the portal and using their recruiting to fill in the holes. They are still the clear number two program in the country but other programs are knocking on the door and if they want to claw their way back to the top they are going to have to do a heck of a lot better job recruiting guys.

While I have not brought this up on this board I have on other sports message boards and I think it's an interesting thought about athletes being allowed to come back to college to compete if they had eligibility left when they left school. The whole point of losing eligibility by going to the NFL, for example, was because only amateur athletes could compete in an NCAA sport. Well what the hell does that even mean anymore? It means nothing at this point. Kids are being paid by everyone now, including the school, to play a sport. Why can't a guy "go pro" now and get paid and then come back and finish out their eligibility in college? The entire reasoning for a guy losing all remaining eligibility doesn't even make sense anymore.

I am not sure which country you live in, but the United States isn't even in the same universe as communism. If you think we are close I'd recommend you actually look up what communism is. We couldn't be further from it.

Of course not. I don't know the guy personally and even as a PSU fan I am rooting for him to make a comeback. I just think getting shot the way he did is terribly difficult to come back from in general without even adding in wrestling. And wrestling is REALLY hard so that's where my opinion comes from. However, I am just an idiot on a message board so I could certainly be wrong here.

I haven't wanted to give my opinion on this but I honestly do no think he ever wrestles competitively again.

I was talking with someone last Saturday who was telling me that his 17 year old son just got his 5th concussion playing football the day before and that he couldn't even speak English afterwards. He then followed it up with "but it's not that bad." I informed him that it in fact sounds very bad and that his son probably has brain damage. He went on to explain that his kid wasn't really that smart before the concussions so it's no big deal. Father of the year material.

I am with you here. He weighed what he weighed due to having one leg but I have always said he was a 165lb guy wrestling 125lbs guys for all intents and purposes. I cannot believe he only won one title. His senior year it was just laughable watching him dominate everyone. The size difference was cartoonish.

It's quite the take to have on Marinelli who only ever made it to the semis one time I believe and never finished better than 5th at the NCAA tournament. He was a fantastic wrestler but the grind of the NCAA tournament was always too much for him.

This still doesn't mean he isn't redshirting. I am pretty sure that guys who redshirted in the past still competed at this event. He may go at 174lbs this year but this is certainly not the hard evidence for that.

I believe Robbie Howard's Instagram states he is retired from wrestling. It's a private account but that is the word on the PSU Rivals wrestling room board.

I'd be interested to see how many 125lbers go all 4 years at 125lbs. It seems like the most likely weight to have guys grow out of it and because of that the hardest weight to recruit.

I can't see Facundo coming back to PSU to sit on the bench and burning a year. PSU has made it a habit to have a plan and execute it regarding their lineups and redshirts. I think Facundo goes at either 157lbs or 165lbs this year. I think Kasak shirts and we get MM and Facundo at 157/165. I don't know who will be where but I think that's how it shakes out with Haines rolling at 174lbs. Another option is Haines takes his shirt as well and we get either Zack Ryder at 174lbs or Josh Barr certifies at 174lbs and goes there with CStar at 184lbs. I also think that Nagao applies for and gets a medical shirt this year and Davis mans 133lbs. If Haines does go 174lbs then I agree that Barr is an option at 197lbs though I think he will be undersized.

Nobody likes teams and the fans of the teams that win as much as New England did, or Kansas City currently and especially the PSU wrestling program over the last decade. Well, except for the fans of those teams. Everybody else gets sick and tired of seeing them win. When Gable was at Iowa everyone felt the same about Iowa, I'm sure.

Don't believe that bankruptcy is some strategy employed by Trump. He filed for bankruptcy because he was a failure in those businesses. Good businessmen don't need to file bankruptcy ever, let alone six times. If his businesses were successful he never would have filed those bankruptcies. He tells everyone his failures were planned and people actually believe it.

To be fair neither of the individuals pictured above are intelligent enough to have opinions on any of those things.

Because he is suggesting that we should have them fight each other. Good grief, he very clearly thinks of immigrants as nothing more than animals that should be used for his enjoyment by fighting each other. He thinks that people who immigrate to this country are murderers, rapists and people who escape from mental institutions. He has literally said this is how he views them.

A lot of people can talk about problems and solutions without dehumanizing others however Donald Trump is not one of them. His entire personality is built on being as mean and disrespectful to other people as possible.

This is exactly why I don't think an college guys should be using the power bomb as their finisher. They always call it. He should try out the Stone Cold Stunner and see how it plays.
