  1. I agree, convictions should not occur because of "plausible". There needs to be great evidence here, but we might get that with a Hunter trial. If not ok. But if so, then that will be something to think about that is being dismissed today. Me saying something is true of course does not make it true, just like you saying it is not true does not make it not true. With evidence mounting, you are in a particularly indefensible position. You are now arguing that what has been established as true is not and even if so is irrelevant. Do you also argue about what the definition of is is? a) There are photos of Joe Biden with Hunter and business partners. There is evidence of Joe at Hunter business dinners. There is evidence of Joe being on a phone call when Hunter was shaking down a Chinese guy for money. I'd say Joe's statement that he didn't know anything about Hunter's business dealings was a bit more than him being wrong, it's a lie. b) Joe categorically denied Hunter made money in China. Even WAPO says that is not true. So is Joe just wrong, or did he lie? He lied. Quote from the WAPO article above, "But now, nearly three years later, Biden’s assertions have been directly rebutted by Hunter himself. In court testimony last week, the younger Biden acknowledged that he in fact had been paid substantial sums in China — the first official confirmation that this was the case." I suppose you could use the Alzheimer's defense that he didn't know what he was talking about. But that opens another can of worms. mspart
  2. In these 3 sentences, you both say you didn't say it and then you say it. You are giving your opinion that everything presented thus far are benign facts. All other opinions on the matter are false or without merit, is the implication. And you know that is not true. In fact you do not know that the facts are benign, you are hoping they are. I must say I am surprised that you as a lawyer are not more curious regarding these benign facts. Who was Joe working for while VP? Obama or Hunter? Both apparently. This does not raise a single question for you? Very surprising. Why did he lie about something so benign? That is the question most Americans, when presented with this, will ask themselves and come up with a very different answer than what you have presented. In other words, because evidence hasn't surfaced yet, there is nothing to see here folks. Nothing happened. It's all a witch hunt. Except there is incontrovertible evidence that Biden lied as noted above. So if these are benign facts, why did Biden lie? I reiterate, I don't think Biden will be the D candidate going into the 2024 general election. Damaged goods now. mspart
  3. It has been proved that Joe lied about: a) Not knowing anything about Hunter's business dealings. Archer's testimony refutes this categorically. b) Hunter not making any money in China. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/08/01/biden-said-his-son-earned-no-money-china-his-son-says-otherwise/ I think you are right that the "smoking gun" or evidence regarding Joe has not been revealed. So that should stop the investigation right? That's how an investigator would treat this right? Whatever happened to keep digging until you find something. Perhaps that's what you don't want to happen. Archer said Joe didn't say much of substance while in the meetings with Hunter's partners, and that he didn't have to. The access to the VP was the point, not the content of the meetings. This is all very clearly established. The question for Joe is why did he lie about a) and b) above? What was the point? To a normal not lawyer type, it looks like he was hiding information he did not want known. Why else lie about it? I'm not sure what it looks like to a lawyer type? I'm sure different lawyers will have different opinions on it. Perhaps you being a lawyer can answer that. Lessee - He lied because he could and there really was no reason to do it, nothing to see here folks. Or, he didn't lie and is still not lying. You would have to prove that one I guess. mspart
  4. Seeing how this map is vague, it is not of much use other than to say it indicates the USA remains the main destination, which bolsters the claim it is the "Last Beacon of Hope" or "Preferred beacon of hope", and that there are growing areas producing migrants and they go to places that are closer to home but better than home. You can see that very clearly. Light Red areas (migrant producers) are pretty much adjacent to newer centers of migration growth. I did notice that you did not refute my position on your statement. Must not have been as good as you thought in retrospect. Upshot is with this post, you are trying to deny that most immigrants come to the US and the reason why. There is a reason for it and I'll leave it to you to figure it out. mspart
  5. Great show@!!. The people of West Germany did not like it to be fair. I doubt the people of East Germany ever saw it. mspart
  6. https://jonathanturley.org/2023/08/09/how-donald-trumps-indictment-could-backfire-on-joe-biden/ Interesting take by Jonathan Turley. He is saying that the same accusations against Trump, could be levied against Biden. Trump is being indicted for knowingly saying false things about the election, to put it simply. The same could be used against Biden for knowingly saying false things about his knowledge and participation in his son's business dealings. Again, I don't think Biden will run for President again. Only Ds and very few I's will vote for him if this narrative keeps growing which it has been doing over the past 6 months plus. R's and most I's won't vote for him I don't think. And any presidential candidate will need to attract the I's. I'm guessing fair minded I's will not want to be voting for Biden because of: a) He's very old b) He is not very sharp and has physically regressed c) It appears he is part of an influence peddling scheme that most fair minded Americans find abhorrent. mspart
  7. I don't think you are mistaken, that was a R talking point about Weiss not being in control of the investigation to where it lead him. So he can now do that presumably. mspart
  8. Except they reported on a PBS interview with Dr Katelyn Jetelina that said these things. She, the Dr, is part of the actual medical professionals and she actually said these things. You may read her saying the same thing here: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/rising-covid-hospitalizations-point-to-another-summer-surge-in-infections Is this also an internet garbage website? mspart
  9. https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4148990-attorney-general-appoints-hunter-biden-special-counsel/ Yes, a special counsel has been appointed and it is David Weiss. Same guy who has been investigating. Are the R's in Congress providing the impetus to do this? They have certainly shed unwanted light on Hunter and Joe. I think the timing is very interesting and comes as a result of the Congressional inquiry and the plea deal that has disintegrated that would have been a special treatment for Hunter. So what special powers will David Weiss have now that he is a "special counsel"? I am asking an honest question here. I don't know what is different is for David Weiss. mspart

  11. I see what you are saying, but you are skipping Mexico as being part of North America and you started this with talking about Central and South America as well. Where is their representation? 23 USA and 1 Canada? That's not even all of NA. Plus you left out Seattle. You do that at your peril!! Interesting idea anyway. mspart
  12. Based on this map, I'd say millions of people disagree with you. "Last Beacon of Hope" or "Preferred beacon of hope", whichever you want to call it, millions and millions seem to come to the USA as compared to anywhere else. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/immigration-by-country

  14. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/biden-fox-news-reporter-peter-doocy-b2390713.html [Peter] Doocy [of Fox News] asked the president, “There’s this testimony now where one of your son’s former business associates is claiming that you were on speakerphone a lot with them talking business. Is that what…” Mr Biden hit back, saying, “I never talked business anybody, and I knew you’d have a lousy question.” “Well, what, why is that a lousy question?” responded Doocy. The president said “because it’s not true”. That's all that Biden has to respond to this question? It's a lousy question? Especially after the testimony of his former pal Devon Archer? I heard on the radio that later the WH called Doocy and told him that question is out of bounds. The real question is why did he lie about this this whole time. Biden can either answer the question or he will be forced to answer it. Again, I don't think he will survive this and will not run in 2024. Ds will demand it. mspart
  15. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-12390725/Doctor-PBS-says-people-start-masking-amid-small-Covid-uptick-HOME.html No she's not hyperbolic. She's just very concerned as we all should be. And yes this in Aug 2023. This is an example of bringing out the old standby and trying to scare people without real cause. Eris covid strikes easy as is expected with virus evolution, but is much less deadly. Same old play really. mspart
  16. I got my data from US sources. It is not that difficult to find the actual facts. Google - US covid deaths by age https://www.statista.com/statistics/1191568/reported-deaths-from-covid-by-age-us/ Google - US covid cases by age https://www.statista.com/statistics/1254271/us-total-number-of-covid-cases-by-age-group/ These searches will give you the data I showed above earlier. All it does is show a gross picture of what is happening. The numbers are big. Only when you calculate the rates do you begin to see the underwhelming truth of how horrible it wasn't. Granted it put a lot of people under. But most of those were older and/or susceptible to disease due to comorbidities. The young meaning 50 and younger generally had nothing to fear from Covid. But the hysteria over it does not share that reality. If you had it, and entered society, you were walking death for everyone around you, as personified by Rachel Maddow. The actual fact of the matter is that, no you weren't. The actual fact is if you had it, most people you contacted would not get it. Of those unfortunate enough that would get it, very very few would succumb. Many people that died in the early stages died of dehydration and malnutrition because they were in the hospital and no one wanted to go near because it was almost certain death to do so. Saying that, the first version was deadlier than later versions as the virus lost its virulence as it mutated as predicted by rational people. Irrational people continued to think it was existential to the point that they wanted 6 month olds vaccinated. My mother died in early Feb 2020 of pancreatic cancer. Just before the covid shutdown. We buried her end of Feb and made ready for a memorial for her where she lived in a retirement place. I prepared a short eulogy and was told no one from the outside was allowed in the bldg. This was early Mar 2020. I said, ok, and sent them the eulogy that they could share with all the residents who were friends with my mom. I heard nothing so I called a week later and within those few days, the facility was completely shut down and residents were not allowed to leave their apartments. The memorial was never done. I feel very blessed for me and my sisters and brother that my mother died before all that and I feel like it was a blessing for her also. How horrible that time was for elderly folks who fell ill. We could only hold a funeral where extended family could come in Aug 2020. We were on our way when we got a call from someone that said my daughter had covid. So we stopped in LaGrande Oregon and asked my sisters what they thought. They were all above 60 and one with diabetes. They each in their own way said not to come. So I missed meeting with my cousins and siblings and extended family because of that. We watched it on youtube live in the hotel room. My daughter never showed any symptoms. We stayed the night and headed back home the next day. My boys were scared to death to be around her. The hysteria had gotten to them. Remember, young people had nothing to fear from covid but they were indoctrinated that it was certain death to get it. They had to be in a separate hotel room from her because of that. The ride home in the same car was tense. She stayed with me and my wife that night. My niece got covid in NYC in 2020 where she lived and had difficulty breathing for days. Unless near death, she was told not to come to the hospital. She recovered but it was a tough bug. She got the first wave. Students at UW at a certain apartment bldg got covid and they were locked down. None died. Few showed symptoms. Granted that is anecdotal, but that was the experience nationwide. Young people could get it but it either showed no symptoms or was a mild to bad cold. mspart
  17. Never had CE until I was a volunteer asst coach in Apple Valley (not that HS, the other one there) and those guys went rough, they had headgear but I didn't. Soon my ear started hurting. It kept hurting so I finally went to the doc. He said if I had come in sooner he could have drained it. I was too late. It is slight and most people would not notice, but astute observers would be able to see it. I went to Veterans nationals in 2002 I think and was in the first aid tent with a friend who was getting stitches. A Senior level guy came in with the most brutal ears I have seen personally. Why was he in there? To get one drained. With those ears I thought? What's the point? His ears were a mess. Not like the Steiner twins but they were pretty bad. Like I said, they were the worst I have personally seen. mspart
