  1. congrats on being entry number 60. keep an eye on the mail for you major award.
  2. It would seem to be the school. The school looks to the conference or the NCAA for ratification. The conference looks to the NCAA for ratification, but not the school. Or maybe it was just some jamoke on this message baord.
  3. The Brennan decision is out. And Brennan is out. No one took Brennan, or anyone below Brennan, in the 174 bracket. So none of the seeds of wrestlers chosen will change. If, however, you are playing 3D chess while the rest of us play checkers, and you have analyzed deep into the bracket, taken note of subtleties in the match ups that can only be felt with the most sensitive of instruments, and have thus decided this changes everything, feel free to make a change to your entry.
  4. Come on. You know this.
  5. Yeah, someone made an oopsie. Twice.
  6. Jacori Teemer is sneaking up on no one.
  7. Placement matches do not get advancement
  8. No way they rescore the season, in my opinion. They have alternates and a procedure that they will rely on. And given the timing of a decision at this point, it will almost 100% be the alternate rather than the second place finisher at B12.
  9. Ditto. Arnold SVN
  10. Another first time poster. Welcome.
  11. I am honored that you chose this for your first post. Welcome.
  12. I can't pick among Lilledahl, Byrd, and Cardenas.
  13. Uetake won his first Olympic gold between his sophomore and junior years
  14. Up is down. Black is white.
  15. I did this list of wrestlers from other divisions who won the NCAA tournament (now D1) a while back. Not sure it is 100% complete. The bolded/underlined are wrestlers who also won most outstanding wrestler.
  16. I believe those are the only two. When Hutton lost it was the ref who decided based on "If the match is still tied the Referee shall name the winner, basing his decision on superior wrestling ability and aggressiveness shown" When Kemp lost it was a jury of three. "A jury of two judges and the Referee shall observe the overtime periods. When there is a tie in points at the end of the overtime, a jury, consisting of two judges and the Referee, shall select the winner by ballot without any consultation and the match shall be awarded to the contestant who has shown superior wrestling ability in the overtime periods. The criteria for determining superior wrestling ability are attempts to secure falls, takedowns, reversals and escapes along with the maintenance of control." In Kemp's case it was a split decision, 2-1. It would be interesting to see these two matches and debate the decisions. Interestingly, in both cases it was the wrestler with less remaining eligibility who was awarded the win.
  17. Won as freshmen: 25%, 7 of the 28 McIlravy, Banach, Hutton, Rosholt, Cox, Lee, and Jones. Did not win as seniors: 1
  18. Replacements are allowed up until the first match for any reason. You change your mind, a guy misses weight, the NCAA finally figures out what to do about Brennan, your tarot card reader doesn't like your pick for 165. Whatever. One caveat. If you decide not to change anything it is possible that a change in the bracket can cause the seed of your selected wrestler to change. I will use whatever the final seed is for a wrestler. Another caveat. I will probably be paying a little less attention this year, so there may be delays in reacting to requests, but as long as you make them before the first match they will ultimately be honored.
  19. You can say that again.
  20. A couple of tidbits before the final summary. 56 entries 97 of 170 wrestlers have been chosen by at least one entrant. 42 of 61 schools with wrestlers in the #17-#33 range, have had a wrestler selected. No wrestlers with a #30 seed have been selected. Indiana and Cornell are tied for the most wrestlers selected with 6 each. Northern Iowa is alone in third with 5 wrestlers selected. Five teams have had 4 wrestlers selected.
  21. The rest of the three-timers to make your debate more lively
  22. Like I said before, and some had issue with, I am a wealthy, white, male, I am sure I will be fine. And now I can add straight to the list. BTW this is the doing of that moron, Pete Hegseth, who epitomized what Trump claims he is trying to stop. Hegseth is unqualified even if he doesn't fit Trump's definition of a DEI hire.
  23. How is Trump doing on the Epstein file?
