  1. And Hamiti would need to be a write in. I feel like only an OSU fan would do that, and they would not do that because they are all voting for Pinfalldrickson.
  2. "I will not accept if nominated and will not serve if elected." - William Tecumseh Sherman
  3. Vespa is to Lee as Todrank is to Nolf.
  4. I like it best because it is the least echo chamber-y. The team specific pages are great, but are too narrowly focused for my taste.
  5. Only three finalists this year: Mitchell Mesenbrink, Carter Starocci, and Wyatt Hendrickson. Though write in candidates are allowed. https://www.win-magazine.com/2025/03/25/fanvote-2/ Let you voice be heard.
  6. Three things that politicians are great at, and Donald Trump is the best at, are lying, deflecting, and covering up. Sunshine is the best antiseptic. If he had simply reported to these guys that he was in the chat, they would have deleted him from the chat, kept using Signal exposing us to ongoing security risks, and then lied about it when he reported on it after the fact. He appears to have done exactly the right thing. They would have been chanting the Trump mantra "fake new, fake news, fake news" with a dead look in their eyes, had he handled it differently. This is why many companies, and maybe the government, hire white hack hackers, to uncover their vulnerabilities before they are exploited by bad actors. And the thing about bad actors is that they never expose, just exploit. By exposing the incompetence here, the reporter has done the right thing to prevent others from exploiting. Again he is owed a debt of gratitude. Not censorship. You are proposing censorship, which makes no sense to me given your prior proclamations that you were being censored and now it would stop.
  7. I seem to recall you rejoicing over the new freedoms of speech under a Trump administration. Censoring journalist who expose serious incompetence is the worst form of denial of freedom of speech. This journalist did this country a great service by exposing this breech of protocols that could put the military at risk. If anything, he should be rewarded. Without his work these morons would keep breeching security protocols.
  8. I mean it in the sense that they are overstating the probabilities which leads to lower payouts. Based on historical seed performance PSU's expected champs was only 2.7. So the odds should have been longer.
  9. If you have 4 and zero you can not get to 5 with three. If you have three with zero you will be hard pressed to get to three in five. You are playing fast and loose by requiring five trips. There are a far greater number of wrestlers with five trips to the tournament who never sniff day 3. They all have zero wins on day 3.
  10. No, it isn't remotely close to a record. Not even in very recent memory. Daton Fix has one win in 5 trips with none of them being titles. Justin Harty and Gerry Abas have four trips with zero wins. There are 15 more wrestlers with three trips and zero wins. And a boat load more with three trips and one win, none of which were in a championship match. Now stop pretending this is about your interest in numbers and records. We all know you have a problem with PSU fans who criticize Iowa coaches over injuries.
  11. An alternative interpretation is that Draft Kings pays less than true odds.
  12. Lee had criteria due to a caution and 1 on Bartlett, but the caution was mistakenly put on Lee's score so the scoreboard was incorrect leading the ref to raise the wrong hand. When they realized the scoring error they corrected it.
  13. I don't know. Arnold comes to scrap. I think this one may have been good.
  14. There certainly was no pearl clutching from me. Hell, I wrote a long diatribe about people on here not wanting to believe a wrestler was injured in a sport where 100% of athletes get injured. You should use someone who is inconsistent on this point to try and make your point. That is not me.
  15. Ignore the real issue and keep focusing on semantics. As long as you are focused on how words are used you might want to get up in arms about the Trump administration banning the use of words, calling for revoking the licenses of new organizations, and Trump calling for impeaching judges four days after he said any criticism of judges he appointed should be illegal.
  16. Hold all tickets. Someone just pointed out to me that the second loss by medical forfeit in a tournament does not count on the wrestler's season record form. Thus Kerkvliet only had two losses this tournament, not three. And PSU's win percentage goes to 83.05% (49-10), putting them in second place all time behind the 2024 PSU team. PS: Kerkvliet cannot hear your complaints over all the noise his NCAA title is making.
  17. Just tough performances across the board. Paniro Johnson going out in the round of 16 as the 4 seed hurt the most. But with only 2 of 8 wrestlers outperforming their seed, they were doomed. Especially since one of the outperformers was a 30 seed who won two consolation matches and scored 2 points.
  18. Did I mention that Pete Hegseth is a moron who is worse than any DEI hire that was ever hired?
  19. This one is pretty egregious. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/03/trump-administration-accidentally-texted-me-its-war-plans/682151/ And 90 minutes after this became public Trump claimed to know nothing about it (his go to move). He is either lying about that (my guess) or he is stunningly uninformed for a President.
  20. I am using "expected" in the statistical/probabilistic sense of the word, rather than the binary way Flo or Intermat uses it. They both assume a #1 seed will finish first and a #9 seed will never earn placement points. I do not. Instead I use the history of the seeds to come up with probabilities. For example, a #1 seed only wins about 45% of the time and a #9 seed makes AA about 42% of the time. I recognize those facts in my calculations. I also include expected bonus points in my calculations. The result is that a #1 seed is expected to score 19.7 points on average, including bonus (versus 20 plus bonus done the binary way) and a #9 seed is expected to score 5.6 points (versus 2 in a binary model). I wind up giving the top 8 seeds less credit than the binary models, and the bottom 25 seeds more. For Penn it looked like this:
  21. from 1957 to 1962 when there were only 4 AA's per weight, Nichols got his first 20. from 1963 to 1978 when there were only 6 AA's per weight, Nichols got his next 96 (from 1966 to 1969 there were 11 weights) from 1979 to 1985 when there were 8 AA's per weight, Nichols got his last 40
  22. Sanderson moves into a tie with Bobby Douglas. Brands is within 10 of them both. Harold Nichols has at least five more years at the top of the mountain. Finish = the average finish of their AA's.
