  1. I've been involved in wrestling over 60 years, and I love both freestyle and folkstyle....I love coaching both styles. Wrestlers learn from both styles.
  2. JB has done a great job many times......I've been saying that for some time now. He only continues to get better.
  3. and let's not forget, speaking of Paris....Johnny Weissmuller
  4. And then there's.... See, I know a little bit about a few sports.....then there's Doc Counsilman
  5. Does this make you feel better!!!
  6. Don't forget open water swimming.
  7. I think you are prejudiced based on your background. Wrestling was one of the oldest sports in the world and a key part of the ancient Olympic Games in Greece, where it was first contested in 708 BCE All the more reason to bring back 10 weight classes!!!!
  8. Gelogaev Featured in SI’s “Faces in the Crowd” STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State heavyweight wrestler Alan Gelogaev was one of six athletes featured in this week’s edition of Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd.” Gelogaev, a junior from Moscow, Russia, has been a key part of the Cowboys’ perfect 14-0 record this year. His individual record is a perfect 23-0, including a 9-0 mark against ranked opponents, and he ranks second on the team with 16 bonus-points wins. 9. occasionally in "Faces in the Crowd" DOUG HARPER TEMPERANCE, MICH. Doug, who recently graduated from Bedford High, won his weight class in the Class A state wrestling championship for the second straight year to finish his career with a 143-8-0 three-year record. He was 101-0 his last two seasons.
  10. What about Hofstra .....is that job open????
  11. Fried pinned Tom at Midlands his sophomore year at OSU, and he also teched Tom in 87 at junior nationals 16-0. Overall though Tom has more wins against Alan. I think it was the first year Alan won junior nationals (won it 4 times), he had both nofd the Brands and Lincoln McIlravy in his bracket.
  12. Of the 4 listed at the top, I vote for Burley....4 time finalist, 2 time champ and was very exciting, especially vs. Randy Lewis....epic battles. Also, although not a big deal Milkovich's last year was 1976.
  13. I'm a lucky dude as Jeff Blatnick once said.....I looked at the top 10 on this list, and I got to watch 8 of the 10 many times during 45 NCAA Championships, 17 World Cups, 30 Big Ten Championships and more. Lot's of great ones.
  14. Including Cael losing to Paul Jenn his redshirt year.
  15. Chuck Yagla was a state runnerup in high school (Waterloo Columbus), was a Junior National Champion and went on to win two NCAA titles, was OW his senior year, made the '80 Olympic team and had much more success that just that.
  16. How about Michigan Kevin Jackson 1 Olympic Gold and 2 World Gold If you count club coaches CKWC.....Sergei Belaglozov 2 Olympic Gold 6 World Gold and 1 World Silver
  17. Someone's brother-in-law.....funny stuff....good, funny stuff.
  18. I knew who Griffith was, but didn't see the connection, but you are right! I think Jeff Jordan should get some serious credit for David Taylor as well.....tremendous high school coach at St. Paris Graham and David was the 1st 4X Ironman champion under Jeff. To this day the only other one is Zahid Valencia. Two of the guys David had beat for his first 2 titles were Boris Novachkov his freshman year, and Logan Steiber his sophomore year. Born in Reno, Nevada, Taylor attended Graham High School in St. Paris, Ohio. As a high schooler, Taylor became a four-time OHSAA state champion with an outstanding 180–2 record and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. He received the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award in 2009 as the nation's top high school wrestler.[8][9] Jeff Jordan's coaching resume is a great one too. https://nwhof.org/hall_of_fame/bio/3401
  19. Griffith tree???
  20. GO USA....Best of luck to Spencer and Zain.
  21. Great work.....I vote for you, but only if you eliminate the term "pinfall"......can't it just be pins or falls???? Just image Sandy Stevens, Ed Alverti, Jason Bryant and more saying "winner by pinfall". And I can't imagine Ed Alverti saying "potential pinfall down on mat number 3!"
  22. I agree.....hoping for the very best!!!
  23. Is it on Track dashboard??? I don't see it.
