  1. Here's a complete list of all the 4 time Big Ten Champions....
  2. Remember, at one time we got no coverage....Big Ten, NCAA's....nothing.....it's getting better....."baby steps" I guess....we just have to keep putting our 2 cents in. You have coverage of Big12, Pac12, ACC now, but it's all split up, so to view it all you have to pay for it. But it's like I've said in defending Flo/Track. It costs a lot more to travel to, get tickets and lodging than it does to pay annual or monthly fees to view what interests you....same thing with high school state tournaments NFHS. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
  3. They were on multi-view on Big Ten+....I had that on my computer/monitor.....finals on my smart TV.
  4. Gable only has one Olympic Gold and one World Gold.....just saying
  5. Defeated John Peterson in '72 and Ben in '76 also a world champion in Sambo Wrestling
  6. Alan was one of my very favorite high school wrestlers, along side Kolat....internationally my favorites will always be my team mate Sergei Belaglozov and (I'll throw Tediashvili in there as well)
  7. If you don't count the loss his redshirt year.
  8. He did win 3 NCAA titles and 3 National AAU tltles, but are you sure some of his 72 wins were freestyle????? He also became the first wrestler to be named OW in the NCAA tournament. His son, Rob wasn't too bad either.
  9. Here's one.... https://www.facebook.com/reel/984938249811995
  10. Personally, I don't think Metcalf was pinned by Caldwell at St. Ed's......while in the spladle, his shoulder blades were totally up on Darrion's torso. The only part of Brent on the mat was his butt and sacral area, and the shoulder blades don't go down that far.
  11. Metcalf was a 4 time undefeated state champion and once labeled "King of Fargo", 3 time NCAA finalist/ 2 time champion....most of us wish we were that good....... Michigan: Brent Metcalf — Michigan is home to several all-time tournament greats. Adam Coon (six titles), Andre Metzger (five), Taylor Massa (four), Sabrina Nauss (four) and a host of three-time champs are among Michigan’s greats, but Metcalf tops the list with seven titles.
  12. I stand corrected....I misread the list.
  13. ?????? current Olympic Gold Medalist???? , and there has been a 4 time Hodge winner and a few two timers, but has there been a 3 timer??????
  14. He could just pivot on his knee and keep squaring up. I've coached two kids in my "over 40 years" of coaching and working wrestling camps who had limbs missing......one had one leg missing below the knee, the other had both legs missing below the knee, and they were very difficult to shoot on....the other kids in the room would get very frustrated. That's another reason I think it's very important to have a good front headlock/short offense, and a lot of guys, even coming out of high school, don't.
  15. I you go to a knee, it pretty much eliminates a leg attack against you.....now the best option is limited to a short offense...snapdowns/go behind, and lot's of guys aren't that good at it. In addition, you need to get lower and ready to down block his shots because he's already changed levels.
  16. I actually I had edited it, adding that in, but somehow it didn't appear. I actually could probably go back through clinic notes from the 70's and find where and by whom I learned it from. I actually think I remember.....may have to go to my office library....lol.
  17. I appreciate you're being in my corner WKN......someday I'll show you another hold I learned a long time ago (I'll show it on someone else....lol).....the "banana split cradle".....variation of a cradle and banana splits....could call it a variation of a spladle I suppose as well.
  18. In my mind some of the very best are Dave Schultz (during his freestyle career), Terry and Troy Steiner, Tim Krieger, Mike Sheets, Mark Churella, and then his sons, both Josh and Ryan. Dan Zilverberg and one of his protege's....Pat McNamara.
  19. I guess you like to argue!!! I teach that the 4 most important takedowns in wrestling are single leg, double leg, hi-crotch and a front headlock (short offense off the front headlock). Single leg is head inside and Hi-c head outside. Fadz P.S. You'd love my video library which goes all the way back to 1970.....nothing but "hi-level" Wrestling!!
